More benefits, more surprises
🍷 This all happened after a short blackout... 🍷
📕Story Background
In a hotel, many guests are leisurely sipping champagne. At a table in the middle, three men are engaged in lively conversation and laughter. Suddenly, the lights in the restaurant go out, plunging everything into darkness. It turns out that there is a power outage, and the restaurant owner quickly instructs someone to light candles. After lighting the candles, people continue drinking and chatting. Suddenly, one of the men at the middle table lets out a loud cry of pain, collapses to the ground, and dies instantly.
The restaurant owner quickly calls the police and maintains order, preventing people from moving around or leaving. Soon, the detective Hill arrived. He carefully examines the deceased's wine glass and finds a potent liquid poison in it. Hill knows that this poison, once it touches the human esophagus, can kill instantly.
Hill asks the restaurant owner, "Did you know about the power outage tonight beforehand?"
"Yes, a notice was posted in front of the hotel two days ago. I was prepared, so I had many candles ready."
"It seems that the murderer had premeditated this. He knew there would be a power outage tonight, so he prepared the poison and put it into the deceased's glass during the outage. The deceased didn't know and drank poisoned wine, leading to his death."
Hill asks about the exact time of the incident, examines the distance between this table and the others, and carefully inspects the surrounding floor. Finding no suspicious items on the ground, he concludes that the murderer must be at the same table, as poisoning the drink instantly from elsewhere would be impossible.
Therefore, Hill asks Mr. Stone and Mr. Pierre, who were at the same table, to empty their pockets.
Mr. Stone takes out a watch, a handkerchief, cigarettes, matches, and cash;
Mr. Pierre takes out a watch, a handkerchief, chewing gum, a gold fountain pen, a diary, and cash.
Everyone is curious about what this reveals. However, Hill points at Pierre and says, "You killed him!"
Why does Hill say that Mr. Pierre killed the deceased?
(This story is absolutely fictional. Any inconsistencies with common sense work for the plot)

----- Previous answer (Wisdom of Clerk) -------
The husband said that his wife had a condition that required her to take medication every half hour. To prove this, they performed the medication-taking process in front of the clerk. However, they had been in the store for the entire afternoon. If she needed to take medication every half hour, she would have taken it at least five or six times, but the coffee cup was still full. This indicated that the need to take medication every half hour was a fabricated lie, and there must have been something hidden under the cup.
