🌊 Deep under the sea, deep under the sea... 🌊
📕Story Background
Somewhere in the ocean, at a depth of 40 metres, there is an aquatic animal research institute that specializes in the habits of dolphin whales. The Institute has a director, Henry, and three assistants, Tim, Jayme and Hanson, where the water pressure is equivalent to 5 atmospheres.
One day, after lunch, the three assistants put on their wetsuits and split up to work in the ocean. At about 1:50 p.m., a staff member from land came to visit the Institute. Upon entering, he was horrified to see Henry lying on the ground covered in blood, dead.
The police went to the scene to investigate and found that Henry had been shot and killed, with the crime committed at around one o'clock. The murderer is analyzed to be one of the three assistants.
However, all three assistants said that they left the institute at around 12:40 p.m.
Tim said, “I left and swam for about 15 minutes to a shipwreck and observed a pod of dolphins.”
Jayme said, “As usual, I went to the underwater volcano about 10 minutes away. Came back around 1:00 and saw Tom near the wreck.”
Hanson said, “After I left the Institute, I swam up to land and got to the surface at about 12:55. Miss Coco was in the land office at the time and we both kept talking.”
After listening to the three assistants, the police officer said, “One of you is a liar who concealed the crime of shooting Henry.”
Can you reason who the liar is and why?
(This story is absolutely fictional. Any inconsistencies with common sense work for the plot)
🔍Known Clues
- One of the 3 assistants lied.
- The water pressure at the research station is equivalent to 5 atmospheres, and the human body finds it difficult to adapt quickly to changes in pressure.
🕵️Questions and Discussions for YOU

----- Previous answer (The Glass-Shattered Alibi) -------
The person who lied was B Legge.
He reveals that the trumpet was hidden in a box and stolen and demonstrates knowledge that three cash boxes were pried open in the store. Moreover, most of his described actions contradict the actual events, suggesting an intentional effort to mislead and conceal the truth.
