💎 O the shiny emerald, O the seraphic emerald 💎

📕Story Background

Mrs. Emory is a gemstone merchant, and according to the rules, she's running this year's new gemstone show. But as soon as the meeting began, it was a disappointment to Mrs. Emory. She had thought that jewelers should know how to dress, but none of the people who came seemed to know how to dress:

Rodney from Boston wore a shirt from the 1970s.

Julie from Atlanta was dressed in a sports outfit with rubber-soled running shoes.

Klaus from Dusseldorf had socks that were surprisingly brown on one and blue on the other.

Mrs. Emory introduced the gems while pondering in her mind: this year's gem show is not as grand as previous years, as long as I can sell a piece of exquisite emerald that I have carefully prepared, that's a win. So she purposely placed this piece of emerald in the middle of some artificial sapphires, garnets, and cockatrice in the hope that it can bring out the emerald's luster.

Just as she was enjoying her presentation, suddenly there was a very strong crash outside on the street, which drew all the attention of the people who were listening to her explanation to the street, and in just a few seconds, when Mrs. Emory looked back, she found that everything on the table - including the worthless artificial garnet and the precious emerald were all gone. Mrs. Emory immediately reported the crime, and Detective Riehl came immediately to the scene with his assistant. Riehl looked around and said to Mrs. Emory, "The crash in the street must have been a diversion."

Soon, Riehl found a cloth bag in an alleyway, inside the bag there were sparkling artificial sapphire, henbane, but only the emerald disappeared. "It seems that the thief only wanted the emerald ah! I reckon this must be the work of someone in the business." The detective said. Hearing the detective say this, Mrs. Emery immediately came to a realization and said to him, "I know who the thief is."

Do you know who it was?

(This story is absolutely fictional. Any inconsistencies with common sense work for the plot)

🔍Known Clues

  1. The thief is between Rodney, Julie and Klaus.
  2. The artificial sapphire and the cockatrice are all there left in the bag, only the emerald is missing.

----- Previous answer (Institute of Aquatic Animals) -------

The man who lied was C Hanson.

Also responsible for Henry's shooting. Because the research station is located 40 meters underwater, where the pressure is approximately 5 atmospheres, swimming to the surface from such a depth requires several rest stops along the way to allow the body to gradually adapt to the pressure changes. It is impossible to reach the surface within 15 minutes.
