🌹 I invited you all to the party, and that's how you reciprocate me🌹

📕Story Background

On this day, Emma had a party at her house, and the guests came in great numbers. In the early hours of the morning, she suddenly realized that the valuable vase was missing, which had been sitting on the table in the entrance hall! When the police arrived, the guests had gathered in the living room and they began to question them.

Philip said, "I was one of the first guests to arrive, as was Julie. I never left the room. If the others didn't notice me, it's because half the time I stayed in my bedroom watching the televised baseball game," he said.

Rod was the second to be questioned. He initially claimed he never left the room. "Oh," he recalled that,"I went out once, up to the second-floor balcony, and it was cold, so I went back in after a while."

Julie was the third to be questioned. She also claimed to have never left the room and to have seen nothing unusual. She said, "I had been talking to different people and sampling the scrumptious food on the table." When she finished, Julie went into the entrance hall and took her coat from the top of a rack full of hanging clothes.

"Looks like it's going to take all night to find the suspect." Emma complained.

The Inspector said, "No need, I've already seen a suspect."

Do you know who's held accountable for this?

(This story is absolutely fictional. Any inconsistencies with common sense work for the plot)

🔍Known Clues

  1. One of the 3 guests lied.
  2. Both Phillip and Julie were among the first guests to arrive, and Rod had left the house halfway through.

🕵️‍Questions and Discussions for YOU

  1. Who was the one lied? Which was the crucial clue to determine?
  2. What activities do you and your friends do when you get together? (Open-ended)

----- Previous answer (Inside the Box) -------

The necklace was stolen by Mr. B.

Lind noticed that B's finger had turned bluish-black. John had sealed the treasure box with a wet sticker, and the paste contained starch. When B's finger touched the sticker, a chemical reaction occurred between the iodine on his finger and the starch in the paste, turning his original yellow finger bluish-black.
