Alliance Conquest | S23 | Round 3 | WxD vs IXA

The recent battle fought in Champion City Siege by Vlodek and his companions was overall a success. Although the valiant fighters could not show themselves on the battlefield by unleashing their fury against their opponents, and instead spent the 60 minutes of combat as support to a very large group, they were satisfied with the ending: maximum result with minimum effort.

Today however, a crucial moment arrived for WxD and their destinies. “If we want to have chance of reaching and ranking as the best 16 alliances of the season we cannot afford to lose more rounds” said a thoughtful Vlodek to the ally Azuraz during the walk on the battlefield where the third round of the season would be held. “Whoever will be our rival in this match we will give our best to secure the final victory” she replied with enthusiasm.

Upon their arrival and reunited with their WxD companions already present, they could discover with their own eyes who would be the fearsome warriors to face in the next 60 minutes.

It was IXA!

The group, led by high level rivals like HIDEBO, utano and kuris, arrived at this match with great enthusiasm.

Their start of the season was positive thanks to the combat experience of the leadership and the good coordination of their allies, which had made life hard for their rivals in the previous match. Today however, they would have to face a rival above their level, because even if they did not shine as in the past, WxD was still an organized and fearsome alliance to face, it would be tough for them.

“The battle will without doubt be a turning point of our season, managing to win today will mean getting closer with big steps to the high positions of the ranking, we must aim for this goal until the end” said Thieff with energizing words after a short consultation with the leadership of the alliance. The warriors of WxD surely did not aim for less. Managing to reach Ultimate Conquest again was for them a mission to complete successfully.

Vlodek, with full energy recovered from the second round fought, was ready to cover the roles assigned to him. Try the conquest of Lannister Outpost and defend it with all his strength. The member of the alliance felt the tension of the moment and that many of his companions placed hopes in him, he did not want to disappoint them.

The battle was about to begin. The rustle of the wind and the leaves with the roar of the sky in the distance were the soundtrack to the two factions engaged in the final preparations with their troops in a surreal silence. The fighters felt the importance of the moment and of the destiny of their alliance. The air was dark due to the clouds covering the sky above their heads, a pouring rain seemed imminent with the start of the clash.

The battle had an incredible start.

The racers for both factions put on a real wild run to reach their destinations with great speed, but those of WxD proved to be on another level, inflicting on the rivals a capture of four buildings to zero at the start of the clash.

“Let’s make a swap right away in Targaryen Outpost” was the decision of the alliance leadership commanding the match, with the intention of putting The DarknesS, one of their most reliable members, on its defense, as it was in a dangerously close position to the rivals' bases.

The swap attempt carried out was a success. The great speed in settling the new defender followed by the timely arrival of reinforcements made the attempts of the IXA members to take it away a failure.

Next, also in Warrior a swap was made successfully. The attempt carried out with an unexpected attack by HIDEBO did not bring IXA the hoped-for result.

“A great start to the clash” Vlodek complimented his companions, very satisfied with the great focus during the swaps made, especially in Warrior, far more difficult. With him and The DarknesS in the two outposts,, the ball passed to IXA, who absolutely had to fix the disastrous start of the confrontation.

The answer did not take long to arrive. The attempts made by HIDEBO first against The DarknesS and then towards TGR were a complete failure. Seeing in them the weak links of the buildings held by WxD, the attacks carried out were too weak to be effective.

At the imminent opening of the ports, Vlodek and his companions found themselves with an important advantage, and if they managed to conquer both of the next buildings, things would become really bad for HIDEBO and his companions, who arrived at this match confident of being able to effectively hinder the path of WxD.

Things however did not go exactly as hoped.

When the ports became available, IXA showed that the start of the match had only been a misstep for them, managing to conquer one of the two with great speed.

A swap nothing short of disastrous was the one carried out by IXA in the port previously conquered by primesword, making the member’s effort useless. Reinforcements inexplicably arrived late, and imperialrock, waiting for a misstep, took advantage of  it the moment it happened.

Thus, afterward, the anger of the rivals fell upon… Lannister Outpost!

The blows of the rival rally leaders, arriving unexpectedly, did not catch Vlodek unprepared. He knew that before the imminent opening of Casterly Rock, the opponents would try to bring the match back onto more favorable tracks for them, and his was the weakest position in their eyes.

But the clash between the attackers and the Weakness Spear formation of the WxD member saw his defense come out unharmed. Thanks to the reinforcements that reached the army, the attacks were crushed and repelled without causing any damage.

“Great work,” commented the ally Azuraz, addressing her companion.

Before the opening of the most coveted building however, here came another twist…

The port that had fallen earlier during the failed swap attempt returned under the control of Yagami.

The WxD member, supported by a few companions, took advantage of the siege carried out by IXA and repeatedly attacked the walls of the port once its bubble dropped, finally obtaining possession of it.

“We are in a position of great advantage,” said a proud Vlodek, with the alliance holding all the buildings of the clash.

“The conquest of CR could be a hard blow to their morale,” was the message from the leadership, bringing the attention of their racers back to the importance of this last one.

It was ImperialRock for WxD who reached the walls first and claimed possession.

The fighter was proving once again to be one of the trump cards of her alliance thanks to her speed.

But once again, the unexpected arrived with its surprises.

Another swap was failed by the WxD members, making their racer’s run useless once more. HIDEBO, before the allied reinforcements arrived, tore the castle from the hands of BANANA who, without support troops, could do nothing.

IXA showed they had not lost hope, and with this capture they could keep their chances alive and drag the match to the mines, but the road ahead was still long. For this reason, they executed the next step: rallies directed toward The DeckersS defenses in Targaryen Outpost.

When the attacks arrived, however, they proved ineffective, showing the rival leadership that they had aimed a bit too high, and that the WxD member with his Weakness Spear formation was tough to face with reinforcements supporting him.

When the bubble of Casterly Rock later fell, the initiative was taken by WxD in an attempt to gain its possession and crush the rival once and for all. The organized rallies approached the walls with great speed and timing.

And when the strike landed, the victory for the attackers was overwhelming. The reinforcements, arriving far too late, could not contain the offensive fury of the attackers, and the final blow was delivered by BANANA.

“Rival attacks incoming toward Targaryen Port,” was the alarm message launched by VN uthe, who was commanding it. IXA tried to respond with extreme speed to the fall of Casterly Rock, attempting to conquer another building of great importance.

But the response of Vlodek and his companions, who sent reinforcements to their ally with lightning speed, made the rival attempt useless, successfully defending the port.

“The bubbles on the bases are about to fall.” The message from the leadership was clear: attack the rivals at their base to reduce the number of troops in their possession, preventing further rally attempts on the buildings they controlled.

Vlodek and his companions immediately launched themselves into the siege of the rivals.

The ruthless strikes delivered achieved exactly the result WxD hoped for.

The WxD member found himself clashing and emerging victorious from battles where his troops were outnumbered even by two to one, yet he always managed to prevail against fearsome fighters. His Weakness Spear formation and combat skills proved once again to be of extremely high level.

The relentless sieges carried out for several minutes gave the rivals no respite. Facing an alliance like WxD, even while being disadvantaged by 13 members, was an almost impossible situation for them, and they resisted as long as they could. But when the bubbles fell, the IXA leadership understood that it was better to conserve their energy for future engagements, overwhelmed today by their rivals.

At the opening of the mines, with the result already clearly decided, the capture of both was an easy conquest for WxD, with the rivals effectively throwing in the towel to reverse the outcome of the match. At this point, short on troops, they did not even try to stop their opponents.

“That was exactly what we needed, to score as many points as possible to maximize the reward at the end of the match,” said an enthusiastic Vlodek.

With the clash effectively coming to an end, the members of both factions waited for the 60 minutes of this third round to finish, which confirmed WxD as the winner.

“A good level battle that brought us high in the ranking and got us closer to our final goal, which is a spot in Ultimate Conquest. Let’s keep this up in the next rounds!” was the motivational message from the WxD leadership before returning to their realms.

“It was a match with many ups and downs. We started off well but then made serious mistakes, like in the swap attempts at the port and at Casterly Rock. We definitely need to improve in this aspect,” commented Vlodek during the return to home with the ally Azuraz, who replied: “I agree, against a high-level rival those could have cost us dearly, but we will improve!” she said optimistically.

Three victorys was the mid-season balance. Will they be able to continue this way in the second half of the season, or is a sudden slowdown ahead?
