CCS – A Masterclass in Poor Preparation

You know how I usually don't plan for CCS and everything works out or I do plan for CCS and things don't really work out? Well, this w/e was a new thing. And no, it wasn't the best case scenario where I plan for CCS and things work out.

After a fun little “I overslept CCS” incident, I figured the weekend couldn’t get more silly. Turns out it absolutely could! And it did! Not only did I wake up after CCS had already started, but my alt had the exact same slot too. Perfect. Double the stress, double the poor outcome potential.

At least I didn’t miss that much, so there was still hope to salvage the run.

I still had my army size active from earlier in the day, slapped on my War Gear without even thinking, and jumped into the map. In hindsight, I probably should’ve used my Zoomies preset instead… but planning ahead and CCS rarely go together for me anyway.

To make things even better, my hospitals were already full from LoL P6 and I was basically broke on resources.

On the bright side though, LoL itself went great. I walked out with 2nd place, 40 Sabrina medals, and that temporary 10k army size castle skin, so the day wasn’t a total disaster… yet.

Now back to CCS mode. My original plan was simple: play safe, get diamonds, avoid unnecessary deaths. Both my main and alt alliances are in UC, so throwing troops away in CCS sounded like a terrible idea.

Then again… I also needed Battle and Bravery Tokens for my gear. So there goes the “safe” plan.

Before I even get accepted, I notice my alt alliance already fighting in BoB. A few moments later I get accepted into SbG on my main. So now I’m technically playing both sides of the battlefield at the same time. Honestly, the idea of my own accounts killing each other felt very on brand for this weekend.

But The first reports were… slightly on the disappointing side.

That level 53 Prince looked a lot less impressive once I checked what happened to him as Spear against a big Inf account. Spear running into Inf rarely works. Unless you're a top 10 account and spec into proper anti counter. But we're not at that level here.

So I repositioned closer to the big Inf rally leads, mainly Lord Shorty and the other two heavy hitters next to him. Problem was… I joined late, meaning I was way too far from the action. Even with speeds, every rally filled before my troops arrived.

Meanwhile my alt was already living its best life in BoB, casually reinforcing mid and farming elims. A few hits in and it already had enough Battle Tokens for max stage rewards while my main account was still out here wasting speeds with zero action.

My frustration increases with each march that bounces. Over and over I sent troops. Over and over I bounced.

I restarted the game thinking maybe my PC was "lagging". Nope.

I create new CCS presets mid match so I wouldn’t accidentally send T5s into the meat grinder. Nope. I'm improving but still bouncing.

Eventually I reached the point of pure desperation and started using 75% speeds. Full AC/UC racer mode activated. Good thing I spend half my life racing buildings because after all that training… it finally worked and I mange to reinforce. Not one rally. But both rallies!

And the timing could not have been better.😏The moment I finally manage to join both Env0y and Lord Shorty rallies, we break center and take it for the first time that match. Coincidence this happens after I joined? I think not!😂

My reports show my pain. After a few weak rallies I finally join Env0y and Lord Shorty, they both win and we're now holding mid.

And the funniest part? Those two successful rallies alone gave me ~2 million eliminations. Just what I needed for max rewards.

At this point CCS should have been over for me. But obviously I couldn’t just leave there.

So I tried reinforcing center to help defend… but bounced because it was full.

Bouncing this game is getting ridiculous. 😱

They don't have enough time to get 1st anyway so I'm gonna take that as a sign and call it game over this round.

But when I checked the Token Shop and realized I still needed more badges... I went back in and started tanking hits for tokens.

Battle Tokens started stacking nicely… until they suddenly became Bravery Tokens after one bad hit.😅

At that point the adrenaline completely took over and I just kept sending more troops into the blender until eventually Achardeen retook center from us.

By then the map was already close to ending anyway. Env0y managed to reclaim mid once more, but I had finally reached the point where even I admitted my troops had suffered enough.

The good news? I got max rewards, decent tokens, enough for the badges for my planned upgrades…

The bad news.... I had lost almost all my Infs mid UC season and N0X is a heavy Inf alliance.😅

Just like I said... outstanding strategic planning this time. I've really outdone myself.

So yeah, this CCS was definitely a first for me. Not the usual “no prep but somehow works out” run. This was the legendary: “not prepared and also not working out” special edition that I’d rather not experience again anytime soon.
