[PLAYER GUIDE] Commanders Overview - Complete List (Update October 2025)

This guide reflects the author’s personal experience and the game’s content as it exists at the time of writing. Future updates may alter features or introduce new content.

The list of commanders has undergone many changes, and over time, new commanders have been added. Whether we’re talking about commanders specific to certain events, F2P commanders, or P2P commanders, below I will present the complete list of commanders currently available in the game Game of Thrones Winter is Coming, along with their specifications, how and where they can be obtained, and how they work best in combination with other commanders.

I will divide the commanders into 3 categories: F2P, Events Commanders, and P2P

F2P commanders

Chris

• Battle (PvP): Infantry - a commander for a full infantry lineup, but without synergy potential with other commanders.
• PvE / Events: Weirwood Tree
• Economy / Castle Development: Building construction speed - ideal for new players who haven’t yet completed all their castle and building levels.
• Tavern: Aptitude (speed) - 3 stars, Command (troops) - 2 stars.

Robb Stark

• Battle (PvP): Cavalry - a good commander for a full cavalry lineup and useful in formations with weakness synergy.

• Economy / Castle Development: Gold production increased
• Tavern: Command (troops) – 5 stars, Combat rate – 4 stars, Leadership (army and rally size) – 2 stars.
• Where to obtain: Weirwood Tree and various events such as Bounty.

Sansa Stark

• Battle (PvP): Bowmen - a good commander for players running full bow.
• PvE / Events: Weirwood Tree, TG - good for healing in events such as Lost Realm, Siege of Winterfell, and All-out War.
• Economy / Castle Development: Fortification durability increased. Once obtained, awakening at 4 stars will also increase hospital and shelter capacity.
• Tavern: Aptitude (speed) – 4 stars, Finance (gold) – 4 stars, Leadership (army and rally size) – 3 stars.
• Where to obtain: Weirwood Tree and various events such as Bounty.

Arya Stark

• Battle (PvP): Infantry - a good commander for a full infantry lineup and useful in female synergy formations.
• PvE / Events: Weirwood Tree, TG

Haley

• Battle (PvP): Infantry - a decent commander for a full infantry lineup but without synergy potential with other commanders.

• Economy / Castle Development: Increased motivation limit, wall defense increased
• Tavern: Command 3 stars - Combat Rate 2 stars
• Where to obtain: Weirwood Tree and various events such as Bounty.

Kravras

• Battle (PvP): Bowman - widely used in full bow lineups and works very well in synergy with other commanders for bow formations.
• PvE / Events: Weirwood Tree, TG, WW Memories
• Economy / Castle Development: Increased fortification construction and fortification defense
• Tavern: Aptitude 4 stars - Finance 2 stars
• Where to obtain: Weirwood Tree and various events such as Bounty.

Gorell

• Battle (PvP): Spearman - very good and widely used in full spear formations, providing Spear Attack and Spear Defense, and also used in weakness synergy formations.

• Where to obtain: Weirwood Tree and various events such as Bounty

Meerel Peake

• Battle (PvP): Cavalry - a very good commander for full cavalry formations and often used in Bleed synergy.
• PvE / Events: Weirwood Tree, Siege of Winterfell, All-out War, Lost Realm
• Economy / Castle Development: Increased iron production
• Tavern: Aptitude 3 stars - Command 2 stars

Jeane

• Battle (PvP): Cavalry - provides stats only for cavalry defense, but this commander is rarely used in PvP attacks. Similar to Russell, Jeane has the same 4-star awakening skill; the difference is that instead of Total Health, she provides Total Defense. This bonus applies to each female commander you have awakened to 4 stars.

• Economy / Castle Development: Increased building construction speed, increased grain production

Sheila

• Battle (PvP): Bowman - frequently used in full bow formations. Her 4-star awakening skill provides a permanent 25% Bowman Attack bonus.
• PvE / Events: Weirwood Tree, TG
• Economy / Castle Development: Increased grain production. In addition to the 25% Bowman Attack bonus from her 4-star awakening, she also provides a 50% reduction in upkeep consumption rate.

Varys

These commanders can be obtained as rewards from specific events or purchased from designated shops related to those events.

Tyrion Lannister

• Battle (PvP): Infantry - appears in attack formations and can be used with any troop type. Does not appear in any synergy.
• PvE / Events: Weirwood Tree, TG, Rebel Leaders, WW Memories
• Economy / Castle Development: Increased research speed
• Tavern: Aptitude 5 stars, Finance 5 stars, Combat rate 3 stars
• Where to obtain: Elite Trials (by completing Elite or Daily missions), Arena of Honor

Simon

• Battle (PvP): Bowman - used by many players as a defensive commander due to his Total Attack buffs and Siege Attack reduction.
• PvE / Events: Weirwood Tree, TG, WW Memories, Siege of Winterfell, All-out War, Lost Realm
• Economy / Castle Development: Provides extra troops for castle defense. Additionally, his 4-star awakening skill reduces healing costs and increases healing speed in Alliance Conquest and Glorious Battle.
• Tavern: Aptitude 4 stars, Finance 4 stars, Leadership 2 stars
• Where to obtain: Can be purchased from the Alliance Conquest shop.

Zhea

• Battle (PvP): Bowman - not a commander useful in PvP battles.
• PvE / Events: Appears in some Weirwood Tree formations
• Economy / Castle Development: After 4-star awakening, his skill provides extra tokens during KvK and a 100% bonus to diamond mines.
• Tavern: Command 3 stars, Combat rate 3 stars, Leadership 4 stars
• Where to obtain: Only during KvK, based on points earned. Certain types of KvK also offer additional medals with this commander.

Mengo

• Battle (PvP): Cavalry - a very good commander for full cavalry formations and appears in Bleed synergy.
• PvE / Events: Weirwood Tree, Siege of Winterfell, All-out War, Lost Realm
