Introduction

Day of Trade is, perhaps, the most important new event that has been added in Game of Thrones Winter is Coming as it gives the ability to the players to obtain valuable items regularly that used to be available in the past only with the purchase with Black Diamonds or as rewards in limited events (for example one legendary awakening token, is available in game only once every two weeks, if you clear all stages of Hell Three, of Wildlings Event). Day of Trade combines aspects of PVE and PVP, which together with its fantastic rewards has made it in a short time one of the most popular events.

Day of Trade Description

The Day of Trade appears every two weeks (alternating with Bounty Operation) and lasts for three days (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday), which is the event phase. A fourth day, Friday, is allocated for display purposes and is called the settlement phase. The kingdoms are matched, based on their strength, in pools of eight kingdoms together, which are different every time. Every day, the players have four carriages available to them, known as trade attempts, and they can also plunder other carriages four times. You can plunder carts that belong to players in different alliances in your kingdom or from the seven other kingdoms that are pooled together with your own.

Preparation phase - Rerolling the carriages

Every day, the players have four random carriages whose goods vary from common goods to supreme goods. The players can reforge their carriage using trade contracts to obtain better level rewards.

The system provides one free attempt, and more attempts can be purchased with blue diamonds by pressing the plus sign which accesses the trade contact shop.

The bargain purchases of ten trade contracts for 10k blue diamonds and five trade contracts for 1.000 blue diamonds are available only once per event, while every trade contract costs 2.000 blue diamonds, which can make Day of Trade pretty expensive.

Usually, to reroll one carriage from common goods to supreme goods takes approximately six trade contracts, and even if the player reaches the supreme goods, they may wish to reroll the carriage further to obtain the specific rewards they need.

Also all the carriages that are rerolled have to be sent off in the same Day of Trade Event, so there is no point to reroll a carriage with supreme goods, after all the trade attempts have been used, hoping to use it in the next day of Trade Event as it will be lost.

Rewards

It is logical now to wonder why would players spend so many blue diamonds to reroll their carriages and if these rewards are worth it. In this writer’s opinion, they most certainly do, but feel free to judge for yourselves by examining the rewards below:

  • Spearwives. Troop appearance SP skin, which is available only through day of trade or as reward for the Siege of Winterfell playoffs.
  • Ancient Dust. The item necessary to forge red badges, which is available only as reward in All Out War (where ten can be obtained) or through purchases in the BD shop.
  • Dragon Chest. The dragon chest offers essences, dragon food, dragon blood, solar flares, blessing stones, exp items, and toxic wing ambers.
  • Weapon Chest. The weapon chest which offers reforge stones, locking stones, and fragments of the weapons of Jeane, Russel, Varys and Melisandre.
  • Commander Chest. The commander chest offers a selection of medals from random, elite, outstanding and extraordinary and awakening tokens as well from elite, epic and even legendary.
  • Legendary Commander Selection Pack. This is the most popular reward, as needless to say, these rewards, legendary commander medals, are P2W content. Considering that their regular price is 1000BD for six medals, and with day of trade you can obtain twelve in three days completely F2P, is not to wonder why everyone tries for these medals.

The carriages also include other useful items, like pictures from photo albums, SS medals, sapphire essences, battle diamonds, boots, combat manuals, ancient scriptures, glorious chests, motivation, research notes, equipment chests and diamonds.

The highest tier rewards are available to players who have their castle at glory level 10.

The carriage may contain more than one gold reward, sometimes even up to three.

Trade and Plunder - Insurance

Once the carriages are rerolled to the player's liking, the player can set out. You can choose 5 commanders to accompany the carriage and the game will provide up to two million troops from the higher tier that the player has unlocked. Since the carriages can be plundered, it is suggested to set out with your lord march and in battle gear, refinement and talents. The stats are live so if the player changes lord to kill rebels, the carriage will become a lordless march. Also since you can use the commanders only in one carriage at a time, theoretically you should send them off one by one.

Each carriage needs three hours to arrive.

Every carriage can be plundered up to two times, so at worst it will return with 50% of its items.

Also an unsuccessful plunder does not consume an effort, so a player can try as many times as he wishes to plunder. More importantly, no troops are lost, so it is a perfectly safe way for a player to test out things in his PvP formation without actually risking his troops.

In order to plunder, the player switches to the plunder screen which can be refreshed twice. Sometimes, as it does not offer many options, a lot of players search manually in the kingdoms that are in the same pool as them. Also plunders can be shared in the alliance or world chat.

However, since it can be demoralizing to spend a lot of blue diamonds to receive the items of your liking, only to lose them to plunders, the game has introduced the insurance aspect. Before the carriage sets out, the player has the option to insure three of his rewards for the cost of 500, 2000 and 5000 diamonds respectively. The items get locked, and while they can still be plundered, they are actually still there, once the carriage returns and its rewards are claimed.

Caravan

Apart from the four trade attempts and the four plunders, there is also the Caravan. Each alliance can spawn one Caravan, once every day. One player gets appointed guard and he needs to make three lines of defense with his commanders (similar to UT). There are four carriages and the rest of the alliance members, provided they have been in the alliance for over 24 hours, can register. Four players win, so they get the rewards for the specific carriage they registered for, while the guard receives all the rewards from all four carriages. There is no option however to insure the caravan rewards, so if they get plundered they remain lost.

After the regular Caravan has been spawned and returned, there is also the option to purchase a legendary caravan for the price of 500BD, which can be purchased twice.

Tips

When trying to find a plunder, I would personally suggest examining the carriages that appear in the plunder page, as even if the one that appears is not to the player’s liking as many players send out all four of their carriages together, and the other carriages may have items of interest.

If obtaining plunders is still difficult or time-consuming, if a player has alts that have their castle at glory level 10, he could reroll the items of his preference and plunder his alts.

When the player has managed to have a carriage with more than one gold item, and since only one can be completely safe with the insurance, there is also the option to leave these carriages for the last day. The closer to reset they are sent off, the fewer chances they have to be plundered, as after reset, the settlement phase begins, where no plunders can be made.

Hope you find this guide helpful, and I wish you all good luck on your rerollings and plunders!!
