🐕 This breed is smart, I know, but you may be bragging about it too much yeh? 🐕

📕Story Background
One afternoon, Detective Brickson was strolling down the street when he ran into an old acquaintance, Lapin, who was holding the leash of an ordinary-looking shepherd dog. Desperate to pay off his gambling debts, Lapin was eager to sell the dog at an exorbitant price.
“My friend, this dog’s name is Mike, and he’s no ordinary mutt!” Lapin declared enthusiastically before launching into a dramatic tale.
"Near my farm, there’s a steep railway track built along a cliff. One day, something rolled onto the tracks, and just as I noticed it, a train was speeding toward the spot. I tried to climb up the cliff to signal the train, but I twisted my ankle and tumbled down. In that critical moment, my brilliant Mike sprang into action.
“He raced home and, out of a line of colorful clothes drying on a wire, he instinctively grabbed my red autumn coat. Clutching it in his mouth, he bolted up the cliff like lightning. The red coat fluttered in the wind like a danger signal. Seeing this, the train driver immediately hit the brakes—just in time to prevent a tragic derailment! What do you think? My Mike is not just a dog, he’s a genius!”
Lapin was about to name his price, but Detective Brickson cut him off with a smirk.
"Find another buyer, my friend. But I must say, you have a real talent for storytelling. You should become a novelist someday!"
It was clear that Brickson’s words were dripping with sarcasm.
Why did Detective Brickson see through Lapin’s story and mock him instead of buying the dog?
(This story is absolutely fictional. Any inconsistencies with common sense work for the plot)
🔍Known Clues
- Lapin intentionally emphasized that his dog Mike, grabbed the red coat in an instinctive way.
- You know, animals like dogs, and us humans are not exactly the same... in some body functions.

----- Previous answer (Fugitive and Trickster's Signs) -------
The officers should take The Third Road.
Assuming that the words on the wooden sign by the first road are true, then the words on the wooden sign next to the second road are false, so that both the first and second roads lead to the Hotel Robinia. This is clearly impossible. On the contrary, if the words on the wooden sign next to the first road are false, then the words on the wooden sign next to the second road are true. Thus, neither the first nor the second road leads to the Acacia Hotel. Therefore, only the third road leads to the Acacia Hotel.
