The last match of the season always carries a special weight. No matter how many you've played, the final Arena leaves a lasting impression until the next season. That's precisely why Matrix wanted this match to be different from all the previous ones. After a whole season spent as a spear leader, he wanted to experience something completely new. When he found out a team was short a spear filler, he didn't think twice. He accepted the call, aware that the responsibility would be different this time.

“It'll be weird having someone else make the main decisions,” he thought as he entered the Arena. “But maybe this is the chance to learn something new.”

His team represented House Lannister.

The moment he opened the list of opposing players, the smile on his face slowly faded. The names he saw were well-known in the community. Many of them were considered some of the best players, with far stronger accounts and vast experience.

“This isn't going to be easy at all...” he said quietly to himself.

Still, what gave him confidence was that this time he didn't have to lead the whole team. He could focus on his role and help the leaders whenever needed.

However, there was another reason this match held extra weight. In the opposing base was their former teammate, Remmarky.

He had once built victories with them, and now he stood on the other side of the battlefield.

“No anger… but today we have to show him he was wrong for leaving,” Matrix thought as the countdown to the start of the match slowly ticked down.

The atmosphere on the voice channel was tense, but full of positive energy. Everyone knew their assignments, checked their troop compositions one last time, and waited for the signal to start.

As soon as the clock hit the start of the Arena, the entire team reacted in unison.

“Let's go! Strongholds first! Don't waste a second!”

Columns of troops moved toward their objectives. The plan was for their team to play through the infantry camps, while the opponents had chosen cavalry.

Everyone knew their route, and Matrix carefully followed the leader's commands, sending troops where they were needed most.

The first few minutes went almost perfectly.

After several successful captures, news arrived that lifted everyone's spirits.

“We captured the neighboring clan!”

“Excellent! That gives us a huge advantage!”

You could feel the relief on his teammates' faces, even over the voice chat. The extra points meant they could now develop their plan for the rest of the match more leisurely.

A completely different part of the game began for Matrix. Instead of organizing attacks, his duty was to defend less important buildings and react to every change on the map.

Although it was strange for him at first not to be making the main decisions, he quickly realized how important this role was as well.

“I have to trust the leaders. My job is to do what I'm asked to do.”

And indeed, so far, everything was working perfectly.

Shortly after, Glory opened up, the most valuable objective on the map.

Everyone looked toward it.

“Are we going?”

But no answer came.

Their teammates were busy with other key objectives, and Glory simply wasn't a priority at that moment. Matrix could do nothing but watch as the opponents entered first.

“That's a shame… but it's okay. If an opportunity comes up later, we'll try.”

He continued to carry out his tasks, but then, just by happenstance, he glanced at the map and noticed something that made his heart skip a beat.

Their neighboring clan… was on the verge of falling.

The numbers were changing from second to second.

The enemy troops were arriving faster and faster.

“No… not now…”

Without thinking, he turned on his mic.

“QUICK, EVERYONE! WE'RE LOSING THE CLAN! SEND TROOPS! IF WE LOSE IT, THERE'S NO WAY WE CAN WIN THIS MATCH! DROP EVERYTHING ELSE! THIS IS THE PRIORITY NOW!”

True panic was audible in his voice.

There was no time to wait.

He launched his own solo attack immediately, even though he knew it probably wouldn't be enough.

“Maybe I can... maybe I can just buy a few seconds.”

But as soon as his attack arrived, reality hit him.

The opposing troops were too strong.

He was knocked out almost instantly.

“I knew it… I can't do it alone.”

An awkward silence fell for a moment.

The seconds passed incredibly slowly.

Matrix just stared at the screen, hoping one of their strongest players would react in time.

“Come on… just one more rally…”

And then what he had been hoping for happened.

One of their leaders launched a powerful attack.

The rally had arrived.

The fight lasted for a few moments.

And finally...

“WE'VE GOT HIM!”

The entire voice chat channel erupted with excitement.

“Great job!”

“We held him!”

Matrix sighed deeply.

“That could have cost us the whole victory...”

It was then that he realized how one single structure could change the entire course of a match.

After that, the team regained control.

The plan was simple, capture as many important structures as possible, maintain the score difference, and not let the opponents get back into the game.

Matrix tried to capture one of the buildings by himself, but he wasn't so lucky this time.

The opponents eliminated him very quickly.

“Alright... no need to stubbornly try the same thing.”

He immediately changed his approach.

He started constantly attacking Stark's Maidens, not to capture them, but to disrupt them and slow down the score collection. They were close, and every point could mean something in the end.

“If I can't hold the structure, I can at least make things difficult for them.”

Attack after attack.

Nonstop.

Every time their opponents had to react, they lost precious seconds.

Time was mercilessly running out.

Less than five minutes remained on the clock.

The Lannister advantage was large enough that victory was practically secured.

But Matrix didn't just want a win.

He looked toward Glory.

“We can do this.” We started the double rally and attacked immediately.

He turned on the mic.

“GREAT! NOW EVERYONE, SEND INFANTRY INTO GLORY! WE HAVE A CHANCE TO WIN IT! THAT'S ALL WE NEED!”

This time, there was no panic in his voice.

There was excitement.

Adrenaline was rising again. They had the win, but Matrix wanted more than a win. He wanted Glory to get more fame points.

From all sides, their infantry troops started moving toward the castle.

“Maybe we can actually do it...”

But he knew deep down how hard it would be.

Git held the Glory, and behind him were extremely strong layers.

“If they knock us out right away... it's over.”

The first rally reached the castle.

The battle began. It was a spearman that Git easily defeated.

Every second felt like a whole minute.

“Hold on… just a little more…”

But then…

Git was knocked out.

Glory had fallen to the enemy again.

A short silence fell over the voice channel.

“That's a shame...”

“We were so close.”

Matrix just laughed.

“It's okay.”

He looked at the scoreboard.

Victory was already theirs.

Glory would just be an added bonus.

The final seconds of the Arena were slowly ticking by.

When the match finally ended, a victory confirmation appeared on the screen.

Matrix leaned back in his chair and exhaled deeply.

He remembered how just an hour earlier he had anxiously looked at the list of opponents, wondering if he would even be any use in his brand-new role.

In the end, he got his answer.

He didn't have to be a leader to be an important part of the team.

His timely reactions, warning the neighboring clan, defending the facilities, and constant pressure on the opponents showed that every team member could make a difference.

“I learned something new today,” he thought.

“Sometimes, the most important thing isn't being the one who gives the orders. Sometimes, it's enough to be the one who carries them out at the right moment.”

He thanked his teammates for inviting him to be part of their team.

“Thanks, guys. It was really a pleasure playing with you.”

Greetings started to come in from all sides.

“You played great.”

“See you next season.”

Matrix just smiled.

The last match of the season brought him much more than just a win. It gave him a new experience, proved to him that he could successfully adapt to a different role, and showed that a real team isn't built just from leaders, but from players who trust each other and work together toward the same goal.

He finished the season in the best way possible, with a victory against extremely strong opponents, feeling a sense of pride and gratitude for the people he shared the battlefield with. As he left the Arena, he knew he would remember this game for a long time and that he could hardly wait for the new season, new challenges, and maybe another journey together with the same teammates.
