In search of merits

Hi, I'm Pateanu, and I'm looking for merits and fun.

The laptop's cold screen illuminates your face as your fingers press the keys. You open the gates to Westeros, but the silence of Winterfell is merely an illusion. Beyond the Wall, a terrible threat has awakened. 
It is not a simple siege, but a series of attacks designed to test your limits. Jaime Lannister studies the map in the command tent, and his target is a series of strategic castles he has discovered.
The march has begun.

My hunt covers servers 30, 13, and 107, a fail on 32, and the bonus from 393.
The hunt starts on server 30. I have two castles there that I’m attacking. During the first attack, the player manages to activate a shield and avoid being emptied out, while in the second attack, the lord is captured. Final result 2.09 mil merits, we hope on more in the next attacks.

The next server I land on is 13; here, I find a few castles without shields, hoping to find troops to kill and merits to earn.

Without a second thought and without scouting, I launch the attacks, eager to be surprised by what I find there :))

Four castles, four lords captured in the first attack, the merit gains are decent. I gathered 2.75 million merits from these attacks.
I take another look at the server, hoping there are still castles without shields so I can squeeze out some merits. With a bit of luck, I find two castles and take them out instantly.

These two castles earned me more merit points than the first raid. That’s great news, let’s hope we keep it up. The merit points earned here total around 3.57 million.
After all the attacks, Server 13 has yielded a total of 6.32 million merits. We are on an upward trend compared to Server 30, where we came from.

We continue our journey and arrive at server 107, where we find castles without shields—but hopefully with merits, too.

The first two targets were empty, you can count the merits on the fingers of one hand, but we aren't backing down! We're continuing the attacks.
Four other castles are waiting for me without a bubble. I’m not getting my hopes up, given what I’ve found so far on Server 107.

Unfortunately, these castles yielded very few merit points. I gathered a total of 0.65 million merits from server 107. I have to say I’m disappointed, not even a million from six castles attacked.

Next stop, server 32: a target spotted without a shield tempts me to use another scroll.

Such bad luck? The target is completely empty, not a trace of troops. After a promising start where I earned decent rewards, the last two servers have yielded almost nothing and absolutely nothing :(

I take a deep breath and decide to look for another server, maybe I’ll wrap up the hunt with a positive result and a bag full of achievements. After scanning the servers, I spot two castles on server 393, it’s my last attempt, teleport, and full steam ahead.

I'm not scouting the first target because there's no indication of a large army, nor of any counters to my spearmen that I need to watch out for.

I earned more merits from a single castle than on the last two servers, it’s a modest result, but compared to the nothingness of the previous two, it’s good for morale.
Just before giving up and bubbling, I spot a fairly large castle. This time I feel I should scout it rather than rushing in blindly. I was in for a huge surprise, after all the disappointment I’d faced, I discovered an army of 10 million soldiers. Jackpot. I have to wipe them all out.

I'm getting my spears ready for the day's final assault, let's hope he doesn't pop a bubble on this one too before I can kill all the troops.

The walls of the last castle trembled under the furious assault. I did not yield. With a final, brilliant maneuver, I rallied the fragmented ranks and ordered the spearmen to form an impenetrable wall of steel right in the heart of the shattered gates. The enemy army crashed straight into the tips of my spears, unleashing an unexpected slaughter.
I managed to wipe out all the troops, sustaining some losses myself, of course, but the final result is satisfying. That’s a total of nearly 9 million merits from a single castle. Across the previous four servers, I earned about 10 million merits in total. I’d say the finale brought me an unexpected yet well-deserved bonus. The final tally puts me at nearly 19 million merits earned, an excellent haul for a small hunter like me.

As the dust settled, silence fell over the battlefield. My castle stood tall, proud and secure, while the rival banners lay in the dirt. Gazing at the screen, I realized I had achieved the impossible: I had turned certain disappointment into a triumphant string of victories. The campaign had ended, and I remained the sole ruler of the region.
