Hello there!

This one will be interesting, I hope.

We were playing 2 arenas in 1 day, and game 15 is the last game of the season for us.

You can find the game 14 report here if you missed it.

But to avoid spoilers, we had some major troubles in game 14, and we were willing to find out how to fix it before jumping into the next fight.

So, because some of our main guys had no tickets to play 2 times in one day, some "small" castles were added to fill the gaps.

4 timers are really hard for us to manage as a team, as we have a few key people like Silvia, Slow Panda, and Sungrila connecting all the way from Australia, so time zones are constantly trying to kill our participation options

So we scheduled a voice call in advance to deal with the problem of game 14 and figure out our setup.

I am there waiting in Discord...

Calling...

No results...

An hour passes while we were waiting for Salvia to come, but it did not happen. Registration starts, 15 minutes pass, too much making of plans and overthinking everything. And finally — nope... nothing happened...

I was waiting and setting up the castle until the last 10 seconds to start the battle

So our 3 strongest castles were simply not able to wake up for this match after all that waiting. We were planning to play anyway, as long as they prohibit saving tickets between the seasons... No point in wasting tickets and not playing, right?

So who do we actually have left on the dance floor today?

PhoeniX - ofc. Team coordinator

Sam - bow inf reinforce participate in the team for a long time

Sliktais - Bow reinforcer with a bit here and there

Raskals - Cav player and my right hand in holding the battlefield picture together

Amiss - Descent Cav player and close friend

Biohasard - Inf Bow reinforcer

Gambit - Bow reinforce

So as you see, or I'd better say not see

There is no Юра, there is no Slow Panda, there is no TE3AyPuC no Sungrila

All our bow combos are holding purely on me now... In game 15...

The final game of the season where we have already pumped our rating with multiple good 1st places and can't really count on weak enemies

BUT! The towers and catapults are cavalry on this map, and as you know, it is one of my favorite formations.

Targaryens this time we are!

And don't forget we have 3 randoms with us in the team — what does it actually mean for us - No reinforcement in the middle, or completely wrong troops sent.

Zero real-time coordination.

No reinforcement in the clan castles when they are under attack.

So we took the right and left castles early, but the main problem was that we didn't have enough reliable people to actually sit there and defend them properly. We assigned Raskals to the Greyjoys and Sliktais to the Tyrells.

And we started to build trading posts there, with just a few exceptions. We were trying to snowball bonuses via dragons and altars, trying to keep others from even trying to contest the middle when it opens up later. Naive, I know, but there were times when I was the main rally leader, so old habits die hard!

We also won the initial towers and catapults, but then started to lose them to bots because of one dedicated troop type and enemy counter strategy that caught us off guard. And we tried to contest the middle — fail, of course.

There was a pretty ok spearman with a gray worm and a well-developed weapon — named Hackbard, but I can't tell you much more about him. So just a spearman noticeably stronger than me, and with no TE3AyPuC around to try him out or test his real strength, we couldn't contest him directly.

And so I immediately changed our strategy from watching towers and catapults to placing trading posts everywhere on the map.

To win this map with our current situation, we prioritized that we needed to get as many points everywhere except the middle as we possibly could.

So we prepared early and were extremely quick on the mining shafts whenever they spawned.

We zerged enemy altars and dragons with a small amount of fast troops just to interrupt their timers and cause chaos. And I put myself on the Tyrells because Sliktais was having a really hard time there against my clone.

We were constantly struggling to keep leadership points and clan castle mines secure for us, which we weren't even harvesting all that much because of the constant pressure.

But somehow we managed to end up 1st with +2 additional clan castles!

And we really needed that win after game 14 and such a stressful match, especially having 3 random castles in our team throwing unpredictable moves.

So what is the final result of the season?! We did not finish as Glory Kings in the global rankings, but we were in the middle of the season.

And to prove my words, here you go:

When the season finally ended, I was only able to check and interfere with the Season 5 history on Monday, so unfortunately I didn't take screenshots for you at the exact moment of victory.

So the really interesting thing now is how the new updated Arena works, and we will know this very soon — today!

The Glorious battle is finished, and you will for sure hear a story about how it went from me.

That is actually a busy time for me now, but I will try to find some ;-)

And as always, I will see you around on the battlefield!
