A Young Lord of the Ancient Kingdoms Part 110 (CCS Season 71)

The kingdom rested. The trumpets had stopped blaring, the people's shouts were gone, and all was quiet once more. Our Lord savored the peace he had momentarily attained, so much so that the air that swept through his lands brought a tranquility that anyone could enjoy and rest upon.

A week had passed since the previous, cruel battles our Lord and his friends had faced. He was now peacefully at home, enjoying himself and reading the newspapers distributed throughout the city.

Just as he thought his rest would last another week, he drank his coffee. With a surprised expression, he spat it out, for he saw that there was an important event in which he could participate, and he was already late.

He quickly armed himself and gathered his troops for the battle that was already underway. With a teleportation, he marched to the battlefield.

And you might be wondering what event it was this time. Well, it was "Siege of the Champion City (CCS)." Remember that this event takes place on weekends each month, and it always involves battles between several major cities, linking different kingdoms. The idea is that there's always a schedule for the battles in each city, with the fight to capture a different castle taking place around midnight.

Our Lord would then face his first battle, so he quickly took action and had to forge an alliance to participate in the ongoing siege.

An alliance was already formed at the battle, enjoying free entry as it was the fastest way in. Our Lord would be joining it, having no better options since the match was already halfway through.

This was the initial alliance (BBY), created exclusively for this type of battle event, which would feature many extremely powerful Lords.

"Well, I have no choice but to be here. They're just looking for cannon fodder to capture the castle anyway," our Lord thought, having no other way to obtain the rewards.

Also involved were one of the strongest alliances in Westeros, the Night Beast Elite (NBe). Our Lord would have preferred to join them, as they were the attacking force, and in such cases, troop losses are minimal.

Even so, they would be in formation, constantly besieging the Scarlet Palace, presumably to gain control of it and also to acquire its combat equipment.

On the other hand, there was also another of the best and oldest alliances, KingsAwaysLucky (KAC), another strong alliance, as are most of its rally leaders. It was also a private alliance.

Seeing this, our Lord wouldn't have many opportunities to join other alliances, and while waiting for a supposed confirmation, the battle time was running out. Therefore, he had no other option but to join (BBY).

This alliance would control the Scarlet Palace, and its defense leaders were rotating among themselves. The alliance was constantly reinforced by its large number of members, given its public nature.

"Everyone is desperately seeking elimination points," our Lord remarked, but there was a simple reason for this.

These Lords, including our own, had no other option but to have faith. Constant reinforcements were necessary, and the troops sent in had to hope for a successful defense, as troop losses were enormous.

And why is this?

Simply because the Lord in the castle can't change his formation, so it's easy for another major rally leader to attack the castle and wipe out the troops. But with about 30 Lords defending it, they would have to win about three consecutive battles to drive them out.

It was just as our Lord initially thought: "Troops for the slaughter."

Among all those attacks, but our Lord could not get as much credit for the victories that would be obtained, because there he would have a small good start in the eliminations, however, he would still need more, so the troops would have to stay there, and continue waiting for a good defense.

That's what our Lord feared: a massive attack by the KAC alliance with Matjenin, which would overwhelm the castle's troops, including our Lord's own.

From the perspective that Ganicus would be going with infantry troops, and both having good lineups, the rest of the raids would come with cavalry, their counterpart, so the blows would be hard.

The surviving troops were quickly taken to the hospitals, while the dead remained there. This proved costly in terms of resources for our Lord, but he still hadn't reached the required number of casualties.

He would manage to reinforce his forces again and watch from afar as many troops assembled in a rally against the Scarlet Palace.

He would anxiously observe the defenses this time, wondering if anything was improving. He still had faith that they would win some battles and he could leave with his troops, since the rewards were absolutely necessary for overall progress.

And once again, his troops fell at the first attack. Aside from them, there were a few daredevils who attacked alone, but to no avail. The castle remained imposing, thanks to the sacrifices of many fallen soldiers.

Our Lord, weary and hoping he had achieved the necessary number of kills, decided to withdraw his troops from the battlefield.

"I will not allow the death of my troops to benefit others..." Having said this to his officers, he withdrew from the field, leaving behind a somewhat bitter feeling, but that's what always happens in these kinds of battles.

And just after another period of fighting, after our Lord ordered his troops to retreat, the battle ended, with the defense obviously winning and gaining complete control of the castle.

As a result;

The Great United Alliance (BBY) would emerge victorious, as they maintained control of the castle during its capture thanks to the constant reinforcement of their members against enemy rallies from NBe and KAC.

Our Lord would depart, but luckily he managed to reach the required number of points for the rewards he needed. It didn't end in a defeat that could have resulted in a greater number of lost soldiers compared to other Lords who participated and continued to send troops.

As a Recommendation:

It's always a good idea to analyze the situation before entering a battle and see which alliance to support. Look at the rally leaders, whether they're defending or attacking, and how many members they have. All of this can help you achieve more efficient results in obtaining your points.

Don't put pressure on yourself to reinforce every time. If you don't succeed, you don't succeed. It's worse to achieve nothing and also lose a large number of troops, since the cost is high for this type of battle, and sometimes it's not worth it if you lose too much because the rewards, while good, aren't profitable.

That's all for today!

See you next week!
