HOH vs WWW | Siege of Winterfell | Match 2 |

Archiving the victory of Arena of Honor, Neik and his teammates had a few days of rest to prepare in the best way for the second round of Siege of Winterfell.

Arriving on the battlefield after a long march, they joined their allies who showed a sense of insecurity. The way they fought against RRH undermined their confidence but it was up to them to prove that the disastrous first round was just a misstep.

“Today we will undoubtedly face a more approachable opponent due to our previous defeat which made us drop in the rankings, we should try to oil the gears well and understand how to behave, it will not only be a matter of winning but also of understanding how to face the new features of this season” was the message from the leadership during the wait for the opponent to appear on the horizon and that wait finally came to an end.

It was WWW the opponent of today for HOH.

Led by MetaSMILE, j0y and Casey Junior, the group came from a convincing victory obtained in the previous round but today the match for them was of a completely different level, they certainly did not start as favorites on paper.

“We will try to create two groups both to assault Armory and HotSprings and to face the battle for the possession of the dragons without spreading too much across the positions” was the decision taken in the previous days by the leadership of the alliance that wanted to create numerical superiority and obtain the dragons with their loot at all costs.

Neik knew that this match was certainly not at the level of the previous one, but his attention was still high: if they had underestimated an opponent that was capable of winning their match in the previous round the outcome could have been fatal for their Siege of Winterfell season, from this moment on with already one defeat on their back they could no longer make mistakes!

The battle was about to begin and the tension for the known reasons was evident among the members of HOH which resulted in an almost surreal silence, concentration was certainly not lacking among them.

The sky was covered with threatening clouds and the wind was blowing relentlessly. The crows cawed high above their heads and the war cries could be heard from the other side of the battlefield: the rivals could fight with the lightness of still having the possibility to take a defeat, this could make them adopt a more reckless strategy trying to catch the opponents by surprise.

The start of hostilities saw a balanced opening for HOH which split into two groups going to capture Armory and HotSprings. While things were different for WWW.

The leadership of the rivals decided to go with the majority of their troops on the east side of the battlefield accepting a rather easy capture for the group led by R0ny in Armory.

Although the attempt to obtain numerical superiority in HotSprings in the early stages of the fight seemed to bear fruit, Neik and his teammates managed over the minutes to push their rivals back from it obtaining the capture of the second objective as well!

The start of HOH was strong, they wanted to leave behind the defeat of the first round and this was the best opportunity. “In a few minutes the first dragons will be available, we must focus our forces on them dividing ourselves into only two groups” was the strategy decided by the leadership of the alliance for this match.

First dragons fight

At the appearance of the first two dragons, the sun one and the ice one, the first was escorted quite easily by HOH to their base: the decision of the rival leadership to try to group on one of the two could have paid off if they had succeeded in their intent. But…

The battle for the second was anything but simple! Despite the large number of troops on it for WWW, the attempt of HOH to slow them down seemed to be effective initially, however then the proximity to their base gave the rivals the advantage of maintaining control until the last meter managing to capture it!

“It was a clever move to focus on one of the two on their part” said Neik recognizing that the rival strategy was winning in this case even if this however meant for them to be behind in number of buildings and to have only tied the number of dragons escorted to the base.

An advantage that was starting to become more and more important for HOH when the appearance of the next dragons was imminent…

And once again both the applied strategy and the outcome were the same!

If for many this match was decided even before its beginning, WWW was showing great tenacity and fighting spirit. The rival faction, despite being behind in score, fought for the capture of at least one of the two dragons in an intense way, this would certainly not have guaranteed them to close the gap in score with Neik and his teammates of HOH, but they were fighting with great determination.

A result that was overall going well for the latter, who as the minutes passed managed to expand their advantage more and more.

“Let’s keep going like this” said Spimmer encouraging his teammates to give their best, the goal was near for them.

WWW following their strategy

With a final result far from favorable, the strategy of WWW did not seem to want to change. The leadership behind in score and with little chance of victory at this point, wanted to continue to transport at least one of the two dragons and the related loot to their base.

Situation that was perfect for Neik who could find himself in the middle of the action facing rivals who could do nothing but fight him without retreating. The blows delivered by the troops of the HOH member were painful for his rivals.

The final result was largely predictable, the match would end with a clear victory by HOH who today found themselves facing a rival in numerical inferiority, but who still did not want to raise the white flag!

The fight for the defense of Stark2 Outpost was more intense than expected in the final stages of the match. The fighters of WWW in search of personal glory threw themselves at it, but it was Neik together with a small group of allies who went to defend it successfully.

Scoring the highest number of points for HOH was of primary importance after the heavy defeat suffered in the previous round, they had to win in the cleanest way possible to score as many points as possible!

At the end of the sixty minutes of battle, to obtain the final victory was… HOH

The best fighters of the match were:

Neik for HOH, the fighter of K345 was the best of his team with his attacks on the rivals engaged in escorting the dragons to their base. The blows delivered by his troops were fatal for many of them.

metaSMILE for WWW, the third place in the elimination ranking was occupied by him. Despite not being decisive to drag his teammates, the warrior of WWW fought until the end for personal glory!

“It was an interesting match, not at the level of the previous one for sure, but the victory was what we needed and now we understand how to move on the battlefield with all these new features. We will see each other all in the next round where we absolutely have to get another victory!” was the clear message of the leadership to their members before leaving the battlefield.

A result that overall satisfied Neik. Having obtained the first seasonal victory, together with the first place in the elimination ranking was for him a goal he aimed for. “the next opponent will surely be of a higher level” he said thoughtfully to Ferrious during the return to K345 “surely it will be so, but if we fight like today we will surely have good chances to win” she replied confidently.

One victory and one defeat said the trend of their Siege of Winterfell season. A misstep was no longer allowed and if they wanted to get back among the top 12 they absolutely had to win the remaining matches as well. Will they manage to pass the third round too? We will find out together!
