SIEGE OF WINTERFELL | SEASON 16 ROUND 4 | TFi vs WAU!

Welcome Lords and Ladies to the fourth round of the Siege of Winterfell in its 16^th season of this prestigious event. Today we have two teams vying for a chance to make it into the top 50 of A League. The first team we have is TFi led by the impressive CHAFFINCH, he believes his team can finish in the top 30 of A League and a win here today will give his side a great chance. On the other side we have WAU led by the pragmatic ECHO111, he believes TFi are beatable for his side and he wants to prove it here today. Two teams enter the fray, only one can be victorious, will it be the underdog WAU? Stay with us Lords and Ladies and experience something you will never forget!

CHAFFINCH really wanted the win here today and was willing to use any tactic to achieve it, “we will begin with two separate teams but if things are looking bad for us, we will join together and take altars for more buffs before separating again, “CHAFFINCH knew the power of the altars and how they could bridge the gap in important fights.

As for Siege of Winterfell it has a symmetrical battlefield, both sides have two outposts and two strongholds on their side with the Armory and Hotsprings on the left and right side respectively with Winterfell itself directly in the middle. The team which controls these structures will accumulate points per minute, also a package from Winterfell which when delivered also provides points, the team with the most points at the end of the match wins. The regular season also has altars which spawn throughout the match, they provide buffs and points. Will CHAFFINCH’s adaptations be enough against the might of WAU, only time will tell!

DaleCooper is second in command and believes this match is but a formality, “WAU is known for sending their cavalry to one side of the battlefield in an attempt to take control before their opponents arrive,” DaleCooper had done his homework and wasn’t going to let petty tricks beat him today. “Great job with the intel, we will watch out for that and counter it with our own cavalry, “CHAFFINCH was glad to have DaleCooper on his side but would reacting to their opponents be enough or do they need a more aggressive approach? 

On the other hand, ECHO111 was unfazed by TFi, “they are nothing special, we can send our cavalry to the Hotsprings and take it so our Armory side will have the healing buff to resend their troops,” ECHO111 didn’t care what TFi did, he was only interested in being the aggressor, always pushing and pulling TFi around the battlefield. Will CHAFFINCH and DaleCooper get their way and crush WAU or does ECHO111 have something under their sleeve? The Siege of Winterfell is about to begin and both teams have something to prove, Lord and Ladies the fourth round is about to begin!

The match finally got underway and it was WAU that quickly took the advantage, “we have the Hotsprings, their cavalry was too slow to react, “ECHO111 had given his side the lead before any swords clashed but now it was the Armory sides turn to outperform their opponents and give WAU the perfect opening to the match. “We can’t afford to give them the Armory as well, I’m nearly there so hold on, “CHAFFINCH knew the Hotsprings side was under a lot of pressure and if he could provide them the Armory buff that could turn the tides. Eventually TFi would take the Amory under their control but the fight for the Hotsprings raged on with WAU slowly winning the fight. “Take out the rest of them here at the Hotsprings, the first altar is about to spawn and we need to be ready for it,” ECHO111 was pleased with how things were going but the match had only begun. 

The first package would coincide with the first altar spawn, “we will concentrate on obtaining buffs, so I want most of us at the altar, we can ignore the first package, “ECHO111 was looking at the second package as his objective, he wanted to use the first package as bait to guarantee the first altar and its buffs. “WAU have taken the package but there’s not enough of them there to defend it, looks like free points to me,” DaleCooper would take his team towards Winterfell and effortlessly take the first package from the enemy. “Looks like they have sent most of their forces to the Stranger Statue, that’s fine we can take the rest of the map,” CHAFFINCH was happy to trade the first altar for map control. With WAU prioritizing the first altar, TFi would gain the lead by securing the first package and capturing 3 out of 4 strongholds. 

All eyes would turn to the second package and whether or not WAU could turn the tide or be swept into the abyss, “now is the time to fight for the package but we have lost map control, TFi already have a 10k points lead,” ECHO111 was worried about the price they paid for taking the first altar but the capture of the second package could be the beginning of the tide retreating. The fight for the second package was swift with TFi surrounding WAU and retrieving the package, “great we have the package, take it to Greyjoy Stronghold 2 and this should be the nail in the coffin,” DaleCooper was celebrating prematurely but with their lead starting to balloon why wouldn't he?

The half way point of the match was crucial, each side knew the third package could make or break their chances of winning, “ their package team is really strong, I suggest we go for the strongholds instead, we need the points they provide, “ ECHO111 was seeing the writing on the wall but he wanted to see if his side could sneak the Warrior Statue while they had control of the strongholds in the middle of the battlefield. “There’s hardly enough of them at Winterfell to secure the package, they must have abandoned that idea, I want both the Warrior Statue and the third package this time,” CHAFFINCH wanted the package but ordered his warriors to the statue when he saw the package was less contested this time around. TFi would secure both objectives with ease also their lead had grown to 35k but they had lost the Hotsprings and Stark Stronghold 2 for it. 

The match win was secured with the capture of the third package, “they can’t catch us anymore but let’s try to obtain 80k points,” CHAFFINCH knew the more points they obtained the higher in the rankings they would be. “We can still obtain 20k points with 20 minutes remaining as long as we hold some of the strongholds and outposts, we can come out of this match with something,” ECHO111 had accepted defeat but he still had goals in this match to attain. The fourth package would have slight resistance from WAU but most of their forces were busy protecting Stark Stronghold 2 and both their outposts. 

Even though the match was technically over both sides still had objectives with only 12 minutes remaining, TFi needed two more packages to secure 80k points and WAU needed 2k more points to reach 20k points. “Let’s not make it easy for them to reach 80k points, send a small group to keep them busy, I’m sure they think we won’t even show up,” ECHO111 turned towards his trusted friend Maelda and gave him the order to move out. “WAU have taken the fifth package, we need to get it back quickly, I didn’t think we would need much help at Winterfell, “DaleCooper knew the 80k points goal was at risk so he ordered his warriors to abandon Greyjoy Stronghold 1 to contest the package. “The plan worked guys, we can take Greyjoy Stronghold 1 and that will help us reach 20k,” Maelda managed to take a small victory with the fifth package as bait but time was running out for both teams to achieve their goals.

It was coming down to the wire could both teams obtain their new goals with only 3 minutes remaining? “We only need 1k more points to reach 20k but we have lost all the structures on the battlefield, we aren’t gaining any points,” Maelda looked worried but he could see the grin on ECHO111’s face which calmed him down. “They need the sixth package and that means they have to leave at least one of the strongholds unprotected and that is where we will all go for our final points,” ECHO111 only had a few minutes remaining but his plan seemed sound. “We don’t need anything but to secure the final package, we need 2k points but I don’t want any surprises by WAU that could damage our chances, let’s just guarantee the 80k points,” CHAFFINCH ordered his warriors to prioritize the package which left the door open for WAU to take one of the strongholds and an outpost. As the final package was secured by TFi so was the 20k points for WAU, only reaching it in the final minute. 

The match came to an end with both sides reaching their goals, “we are in the top 50 with this win, great job everyone and we managed to reach 80k points while doing it,” CHAFFINCH couldn’t have asked for a better result but he knew if he wanted to reach the top 30, he would need more warriors to show up. “We lost a couple of altars in the match but I think we made the right choice to secure the structures instead, “DaleCooper was ecstatic with the win but against better teams, their tactics would be countered with higher numbers and he knew that.

On the other hand, WAU were content with the result, “we only reached 20k points in the final minute, only going over by 30 points, that was a close one,” ECHO111 didn’t expect TFi to be so strong but reaching 20k points took the sting out of the defeat.
