Overcoming hardships, that was the perfect word to describe Ultimate Conquest for Ashun. For some reason, nothing had gone his way this season, but he could not understand the reason why. He kept pushing and pushing every single match, but to no success, always being defeated in the one task bestowed upon him by the leadership: races. He was a veteran, having accomplished victories many times in the past, but as of late, a bad run of form was starting to creep in and overcome Ashun.
This was true in his previous season of Ultimate Conquest as well, but ultimately the chain of losses was broken in the later stages of the competition, something he hoped would remain true this time around. However, RoD, his alliance, had a lot more racers than in the past. This was all done with hopes of winning the entire competition and defeating the previous champions and rivals, BDR.

RoD was an alliance with incredible raw strength, besides their speed, but they still had many areas to improve on. That was the consensus after their defeat against BDR in the regular season. Their coordination was the area that needed to be worked on, and part of it was due to the racers, and Ashun was included in this. Even after multiple victories in his races, each time the swap came into play, Ashun would mess the timer up, leading to the opposition gaining some ground, and making the match a harder challenge to overcome for RoD, especially with how strong every alliance they had faced thus far had been.
This match's opponents were no exception to this rule, as they had been through many tests themselves, and that led to them mastering one technique a lot better than other alliances. That technique is intercepting swaps. They have mastered the art of speeding in just at the perfect time, giving the opposing alliance no chance to reinforce the building they wished to keep.

HD!'s season had been one filled with ups and downs, but still being in the winner's bracket in this stage of the competition meant that they had everything it takes to win over anyone, no matter the circumstances. That is what Ashun was going to have to face today, and once that settled in, excitement and anticipation, rather than fear and hesitation, were the emotions overwhelming him.
Once the first races of the match had begun, Ashun was on the frontlines, running with all of his desire to win, leading him. His first target building was the Temple of the Mother, a very important building to obtain, as it granted healing speed, but it also meant that many of the fastest racers on both sides were heading for it. This fact became obvious to Ashun as the difference between him and the winner of the race became evident. He was left in the dust, miles behind Alexander58, who won the building by a landslide.
When Ashun looked around, he was surprised to see that the same outcome took place across the entire battlefield, RoD was dominating the races and holding all of the buildings.

However, once the swaps began, HD!'s power started to show, as one of the outposts fell prey to the intercepts, something that Ashun expected. He knew that RoD would be able to obtain it back through raw power, after all, they were aiming to win the competition, and they could not allow such a misstep to stop them from marching onward.
Not even before the ports unlocked, RoD's rally leaders all mustered up their strength and sent waves of solo attacks one after another. HD! had no chance to breathe and reinforce in-between the defeats. RoD obtained the outpost back almost instantly.

Once the ports unlocked, it was a perfect copy of the initial races. Ashun tried his best, but failing short against the same Alexander58, whose speed was unmatched in this round, but once the swaps happened, a port out of the 2 was lost to HD!'s incredible intercept.
HD! wanted to cling onto any chance they had at victory, even if in this moment it was looking very slim, they pushed forward and reinforced the port with all that they could, as they saw the marches of RoD getting filled to the max, awaiting the command to march down against Arthurion, one of the best HD! warriors.

Each rally was destructive, holding immense firepower that could wipe any warrior in Westeros out. That is how serious RoD had to get to defeat Arthurion, who was not backing down without a great duel. The outcome was, however, decided before the rallies even had a chance to hit. The reinforcements of HD! were lacking manpower in this match, despite not holding buildings, they could not keep up with the defeats.
Seeing how even Arthurion had no chance at holding, HD! seemed to have given up ahead of Casterly Rock, which swiftly ended up in RoD's possession after the race.

As everything settled down, RoD came out as the clear victor, with HD! not going all out, waiting for another chance in the lower bracket of the competition, where other fiery opponents awaited them. On the other hand, whilst Ashun was unsatisfied with his performance once again, he could not help but notice just how obvious the alliance's flaws were in this match. He could not help but think that this may be the reason that RoD loses out on winning the tournament, once more.
