SoW/WxD vs KAC

Siege of Winterfell, one of my favorite events.

I was so excited when I noticed that after the end of the AoW event , my favorite event was starting. Keep checking the days, counting backwards until i see the registration day is here.Being in a new team after our merge was more anxious than ever. Actually, as I was thinking about it was our first time playing as one team in a major event.Cause even in the previous(AoW), we needed to split.Now being all in the same alliance with new leadership will be a test for us.

Therefore, I started texting to my council group almost every day about SoW. At first their reactions were exactly as I was expecting ….

Thieff: Azui chill …

Uthe: Well. is not our favorite event but we will do our best.

Bzzb: We will be at the playoffs , that is for sure.Don't worry.

But that didn't help me to calm down. It made me even more determined to change the image of the alliance and its performance at this event. I took the decision to write a message expressing my feelings and thoughts about the upcoming alliance event.

Guys, I love this event and I want to take over organizing. I know you are busy and not so font for this but please let me try to do it. I will not ask you to do much, only let me take over.I will do my best for the alliance and if it fails i am ready to take all the blame. I will not accept answers like chill or something else , only your approval.

Thankfully Gwe, who is also a council member, supported me.

Ok, Azui I am here to help too. Let girls take over this task and let boys follow. After all they don't have any other choice just to follow the plan.

The decision had been made. Me and Gwe need to start preparing the alliance for SoW.

We started to check alliance old tactics and how they had organized this. But before that priority was to check all players line ups. SoW is an event that has to do with tactics, participation, real time strategy etc But the most important thing is the good organization and strategy for each match that you need to have depending on the opponent. We had a lot of work to do and not so much time to be well prepared .

According to the rankings we will have an easy match that was given little time to be ready for the upcoming events but as it was proven, it was simply our own expectation that turned out to be incorrect..

After the registration we saw that we are facing KAC. An old alliance with strong players and coming from a merge with GuR too. We knew that we will face some strong players like MUSAdra999 and Matjenin etc.

Only a few hours before the match and we still had a lot of things to do . Most important was the shotcallers …..Our previous shotcallers weren't available anymore, needed it to find some new ones. My idea was to ask a friend from another alliance to come and help us. I made my suggestion to others in the council. We knew Alex, had already helped us in other events and was good at that . We had found one but in this event one is not enough. It was then I saw my name mentioned as a shotcaller.

Ok , we have Azui , Ace and Alex as shotcallers. We are good now.

As I was reading again and again what he had just written I was speechless. What I had just read ? Me as a shotcaller?

Are you serious ? Me ? Shotcaller? I haven't done it before. It is totally different to say something to help that moment from taking over one of the teams.

Well after what it proved they were serious about this .The time for the match had come and found myself in shotcaller position.I was so nervous with all that i didnt realize i was speaking in a low voice. I was lucky to have a friend like Gwe texting me in private to encourage me.One of the players suggested introducing ourselves so everyone could get used to our voice before the match.Time was running fast . We informed our players one more time for the plan and as we are always saying.

First buildings are opening as the Outpost from both sides and Armory with Hot Sping. All marches were starting to run to take the first capture of the buildings.

The opponent had done the same as we were expecting …

The fight had started in the most important buildings on the map Armory and Hot Spring.Marches were coming from both alliances in those areas , guides and orders were the only thing you could hear at that moment on voice channel. I was too afraid not to make any mistakes.I was following Alex and Ace and tried not to talk so much. 

We had managed to take over the Hot Spring and we noticed that we were starting to gather in Stronghold , which was about to open.

Everyone ,we took Hot Spring and it was time to move to the enemy Stronghold. Bookmarks have been settled. Move there. The armory team has to fight a bit more but soon will go to left Stronghold too.

Ace's voice was calm and confident. On the other hand, keeping quiet was the best choice at the moment, since it was my first time doing that.

The Hot Spring team started moving and fighting on their way, our goal was to capture Stronghold before KAC did.

The Armory team took orders to do the same from their side. We were starting to take over the map.But we thought we had played only 4 minutes, everything could happen. We continued to take one step at a time.

For the time being we had taken control of all the right side on the map but the opponent kept sending marches on the left side.Players from the Winterfell team and Hot Spring were heading to the left side to help.2 minutes had left until Winterfell opened and baggage was available.You could see fights in every side, in every spot on the map.

It was time to regroup teams and head for Winterfell. We noticed that no one was there yet or coming , at least until that moment.

Almost the same time Mother Statue appeared on the map. Both teams didn't send anyone there. Ace and Alex said to some players to start marching there.Until they arrived KAC had sent players too, which was easier for them since it was on their side of the map. Fighting was for Statue and not for package .

From the KAC team not a single march in Winterfell. The first treasure was ours. Nothing to worry about. That was reassuring for us at that moment. We all started to be more relaxed. As it seems the match wasn't going to be so hard after all, I would say exactly the opposite.

KAC is going for a statue , they don't care for Winterfell.

We managed to have the 1st package delivered successfully and capture the 1st statue too.

We are doing great so far. Keep going. Another statue is ready to open, use your teleportation to go faster if you need.

KAC wasn't going for the Statue or Winterfell this time. A small team of them tried to take back one of their Stronghold. But our team was ready to fight them back, not letting them take it easy.

This time 2 Statues had opened at the same time .One on each side. Crone statue on our side and Smith statue on their side. We sent Armory team on Smith Statue but it was already late. Many marches from the KAC team were there. We had no chance to take it but we decided to go there and fight them . Even if we could not take it. We need to focus on the next Statues. 

Warrior on our side and Father Statue on their side. We didn't need a lot of people to go to our side. That is why we focused on the Father Statue. We started fighting them before the time to open had come.

This time we took both Statues. We were happy with our performance. The gap on points between the 2 alliances was big. There was no chance for the outcome of this match to change and we had almost 30 more minutes to end.

The buffs from the statues were great. Was increasing alliance performance a lot. Meantime we noticed that less and less marches of KAC were going out from base to come fight us. Only some players who needed elimination points kept fighting . We took the decision to move forward to their base.

Since our winning was secured we had the time to relax and discuss other things for the match …

Our marches are like rockets after the buffs from statues.

Statues are a priority now. I could say more than other buildings.

Those buffs are a game changer.

We had come in the last minutes of the game and everyone was happy with the result. Especially me and Gwe ,because we were anxious about taking over all the organization of the event.The responsibility was huge but we succeeded. You could tell how satisfied we were just hearing us giggling.

Now our goal is to become better and start preparing for the next match. We still have many things to fix.

The Season started with a win for WxD and a new SoW event team.

The only thing left to see if we will continue like this. Because we have to face very difficult opponents and a more organized team than us .

I wish all teams to have fun and victories this Season. After all only the top 12 alliances can be in the Playoffs. Everything can happen!!!!!!
