A new beginning - Arena of Honor - Season 4 Round 1

After finishing the season 3 of Arena of Honor with a great result, managing to get the Glory King rewards, [N0X]Shado was eagerly waiting for the start of the next season. He didn't have to wait for too long as the break between seasons was only 2 weeks so before he knew the season 4 was about to start. Without having a team for now or in foreseeable future, Shado decided for now at least to do the rounds in solo que and hope for the best. Time passed quickly with him being busy with upgrading his commanders and dragons and it was already Sunday morning and the time for him to head to the mercenary camp for the first round of the season. Once he arrived there, he signed the papers required to register and waited patiently at the tavern for the old golds to complete the matchmaking.

Once the matchmaking was completed, the battlefield doors opened for the warriors to step in and see what the destiny reserved them. Shado was chosen by House Baratheon to fight in their name for the first round along [UTB]Taipy02, [5KY]neo huy, [OKb]OKlub, [AIA]Silent Sea, [KAC]Goldmedal, [5KY]Kazgaru and [WWW]ALLEGIANT.

Once the team was formed, everyone headed to the House Baratheon's Clan Castle in the North-East forests of the battlefield, close to the frozen north and upon arriving there they set their camps around the castle and Shado in the few minutes remaining before the start of the battle decided to send a few scouts around battlefield to see what the other houses are up to.

The news they got back were quite good, there were no premade teams on the battlefield, but Shado seen some familiar names on House Targaryen, strong warriors that were announcing problems for House Baratheon. While trying to make a strategy that will overcome House Targaryen's strength, Shado heard the horn that announces the start of the battle, so he had to put his thoughts aside and rush to the strongholds to occupy them in order to start generation points. Once the 2 minutes of occupation required to be able to build ended, Shado didn't rush to build yet and took a look at what other houses are doing, especially the Lannister's as they were the ones that will directly attack the House Baratheon.

House Lannister was taking too much time to decide so Shado decided to go with trading posts and try to fight for City of Glory in order to win this round. The construction of trading posts was done just in time as the "real fight" started with the opening of altars. House Targaryen started trying to show their dominance over the battlefield with Hankill and Wisnia occupying most of the altars. Both of them were cavalry with quite strong commanders so Shado couldn't challenge them so he decided to keep scouting the battlefield for targets that he can defeat, and he found Hun from [3OB] trying to take one of House Baratheon's altars, he was spears, so despite Shado seeing his superior commanders he thought this is going to be easy, right?

Wrong, despite all his efforts, Shado couldn't overcome the better commanders that Hun had and lost the battle. But he didn't give up and as soon as he healed his troops, he did another solo and with less that 500k soldiers left on battlefield Hun had to retreat and leave the altar to Shado. The fights for altars kept going with the same pace, Shado getting completely destroyed by far superior cavalry marches and managing to get some wins here and there against less fortunate warriors, specially spear warriors.

There were victories and there were loses on the fights for altars but for now it was time for altars fighting to be put aside for a while, as it was time for the City of Glory to open, and as the points were quite close between houses, it was everyone's chance to win. House Baratheon also shifted their attention towards the City of Glory.

As mostly all round, House Targaryen tried to show dominance early on and they were the first that occupied the City of Glory. But unlike altars, the other houses didn't just stay and wait for them to take'it they were determined to try and kick them out of the city. House Baratheon followed the other houses and decided to challenge the city with all their force. Goldmedal and neo huy stepped in front as designed rally leaders and a bloody battle for the City of Glory started. Rallies were coming from all over the battlefield trying to kick House Targaryen out and a few of them even managed to do so, especially the spear warriors were having a feast on the House Targaryen's cavalry. House Baratheon managed to take the city a few times but without catapults and all the houses launching rallies continuously it was very hard for them to hold'it for more than 30 seconds. Every time House Targaryen managed to retake the City of Glory, they were harder and harder to kick out from the city as the other houses were bleeding troops quicker than House Targaryen did and ultimately despite all their efforts, House Targaryen managed to hold City of Glory and emerged victorious on this round.

While they fought bravely for City of Glory, House Baratheon lost focus on altars and a few of them were flipped by House Greyjoy and they had to be thankful for a 3rd place at the end. Not bad for the first round, it was a well disputed round, despite what the score shows and Shado managed to score 10 fame points. It's not much but it's honest work as they say, and he's looking forward to the next rounds hoping he'll be able to do more for his team and maybe get some wins rolling.
