What’s up, folks? With so many new recent events and patches, coupled with lots of community chatter, it’s sometimes difficult to keep up. Welcome to my weekly edition of Player’s Digest where I’ll take a look at some of the recent happening, summarize them in a digestible way, provide some context and thoughts, and help readers keep up with all things related to Infinity Kingdom.

💠Illusion Battlefield League

Eight weeks of IBL have gone by and there have been a number of changes to the top 8 ranks. CUBS and BUNS retain first and second, respectively. GN drops from third to seventh after losing to WTF. SF moves up to third after skipping their week. WTF slides up to fourth place. KoF sneaks into fifth after beating BB. PRD drops one spot to sixth after skipping their week. Finally, NG+ used their bye week as well and narrowly stayed in eighth. In week nine, a number of contenders and members of the top 8 elected to skip their matches, but there are still some matches that look promising and entertaining. 💠Patch 2.7.7 Notes

Patch 2.7.7 Notes are available and the patch is set to be live on Tuesday, January 21. While the latest patch doesn’t have any new features, it promises to deliver optimizations that will hopefully make the community’s lives easier. Display markers on the world map and in the Squad Tournament field will be more discernable. Boost Nodes in the Squad Tournament are displayed on the map and collected boosts will apply to all members of the party. Current troops and seriously wounded troops will show up on the battlefield interface. New event notifications for the mode will be available. Awarded points at the end of each match are adjusted to put more priority on surviving. Backpack items can be pinned. Open resource tiles are now searchable as an option. Toxin Barrier is unlocked at Tower of Knowledge level 39, down from level 43. This patch mostly focuses on optimizing the new battle mode as the IK team gears up for the anniversary next month.

💠Star of Popularity – SelfZi11A

Two months ago in late November, the Official Infinity Kingdom Discord hosted a popularity contest where players can vote for their favorite peers. The winner at the end of seven days received 1,000 Gems, 10 Philosopher’s Stones, 100 Stardust, 10 Superior Resources Optional Chest, and an exclusive interview with the team! Most of the community thought the winner would get the interview the team, but as it turns out, the IK team got to interview the winner. Server 38’s SelfZi11A emerged victorious at the end of the event and his interview was published recently. In it, he discussed his IK beginnings, the origin of his name, his memorable IK moment, and general feelings about the game. 💠Summary

CUBS, BUNS, SF, WTF, KoF, PRD, GN, and NG+ take the top 8 spots with only 2 weeks left to go before the playoffs. Patch 2.7.7 contains optimizations, mostly to the Illusion Battlefield Squad Tournament mode, and is set to release on January 21. SelfZi11A’s Star of Popularity interview was recently published on GTArcade.
