After Hunger's team had skipped the previous Arena of Honor match, they knew they would have to play two matches in one day to use all their tickets, and they decided to do it all on the next time Arena was up. With that day getting closer and closer, Hunger got more and more excited for the match.
Last time they had gotten the top map at reset, and they hoped to avoid that this time. With one match done less than the others, that should be possible, though, and so Hunger was optimistic about their chances. They would also bring some cav this time to fill potential Valyria rallies to have one more option.

When Hunger joined the map though and checked the mirrored NPCs for any big threats, he was not happy about what he saw. Yes, they had dodged the top map, but they had gotten accounts like Tora33 and tHeBrAiN against them that would also be massive issues.
Unlike some max accounts they had faced before, these were not completely unkickable, though, and so they still had decent chances.

Watchtowers were spear, so they build inf camps as usual. They were discussing going trading due to the difficult map, but if they wanted to win anything today, it needed to be via camps, and so they kept their usual plan in place.
Things would turn for the better, though, when they saw both the enemy teams were building trading, meaning the only competition they would have was the NPC teams next to them that had built themselves to counter Hunger’s team. Even those NPCs could be an issue, though.

At the start they were losing to them. Understandable due to the hard counter of inf. So when building up their second row, they had to be careful. Hunger was the one making the decision there. They could have gone full spear in the second row to counter the cav, but the NPCs would probably build full inf in the second row to counter, which would mean their team would hit spear-inf versus inf-cav. Not a great counter at all.
So instead, Hunger decided to build just one spear camp and keep the rest inf. Like that, the NPCs would be mostly spear, and the small amounts of spear troops could tank the damage from the spear, meaning they would only get affected by half the counter effect, only the reduced damage from their inf to their cav, not the increased damage from the enemies cav to their inf.

And while their team went for the warrior buffs almost unopposed, Hungers strategy was paying off, allowing them to kick all the NPC teams.
Not everything worked smoothly, though. Chaos, their strongest inf lead, was unable to solo tHeBrAiN in a 1 vs 1, so wherever he was a rally was needed, and even that would lose with equal troops present.

Then the center opened, and while Chaos tried to solo, tHeBrAiN was faster, and Chaos bounced on him. Now they had to be fast. Their opponents were slow to reinforce so quick rallies could be enough.

And it was indeed. Vangark and CHaos both rallied, but only one would be needed. But even with more than twice the troops, Vangark still took a lot of damage, showing how strong the account they faced was.

At first they tried to solo while Hunger’s team was still fixing reinforcements, and while that did not work out for them, they could definitely deal a lot of damage.

With 4 timed rallies, there was no chance for Vangark to win, and he got kicked almost instantly with Tora33 taking his spot.

They tried to rally Tora out, but the account was just way too strong, and so the Lannister team took the center.
Having seen the reports, Chaos and Hunger decided to instantly give up on ever going for the center again.

Instead, they wanted to gain more points by the small and big mines and ideally also get their third house to potentially win that way. When the small mines opened, they were a bit over 20k points behind.

They had a good mine run, though, with them reinforcing their top 4-5 accounts in the mines and sending so many troops they could not get kicked.

Their team even got their third house, and with that their third mine, but with only 8 minutes left it was very difficult to catch up. Hunger desperately tried to find more points, but the big mines were almost empty now, and the small ones as well, and there was not much besides those to make points, especially not the 1k points per minute advantage they would need.
They tried, but it was just not possible. Had they held their two dragon pits they originally had until the end, then maybe it would have been enough, but they were focused on other important things at the time.

They could still be proud of themselves. Even without the center, they had almost gotten the win against way stronger opponents, and 26 fame points were also not bad at all. This match showed Hunger again how strong camps were when you had no opposition to fight for them.
Since they planned to play two matches that day, their team would get another chance to get first just hours later, right after their well-deserved sleep. But would that one be better matchmaking-wise? Hunger had his doubts…
