Alliance Conquest Season 24, Round 1: RoD vs NBe

A new season of Alliance Conquest had begun and RoD were against a familiar foe in their first game of the new season. The alliance they had fought against before and knew could be very tough to beat was none other than NBe.

Last season, RoD was able to defeat them, but that was last season. In the meantime, NBe had gained some great additions to their alliance and who knew how much stronger they had become! Lady Myriana knew she could not underestimate them, as it would be a dangerous thing to do. Well, it was going to be interesting to see how the two alliances would fare this time around, Lady Myriana thought to herself.

Time for the battle began and NBe got right on its game. Winning all the opening races, they took both Outposts, the Mother and the Warrior. This wasn't quite the beginning RoD wanted, but Lady Myriana was not too concerned. After all, the battle was just beginning and there was still plenty of time to turn things around.Still she was surprised, RoD was usually very good at racing, this worried her not only for this match but for the matches to come. Still she had set that thought aside for now, she needed to focus on the goal today, and that was to win.

Last time, NBe had managed to counter RoD almost completely, but Lady myriana knew, this time it was RoD's turn! The first chance came at the Mother, where NBe was trying to swap their rally leader. But Drogono was able to time it just right and took the building for RoD. One down, four to go lady Myriana yelled! Sadly, NBe managed to finish the other swaps, maintaining control of the other buildings.

The battle was just getting started Lady Myriana said there is still time, however.

Immediately after the bubbles dropped, RoD began setting rallies on the Warrior, while some of their strongest rally leaders attacked the enemy Outpost. Both attacks were successful, resulting in RoD gaining control of two more buildings. Sadly, while RoD was busy attacking, NBe was able to take the Mother away from Drogono. How could this have happened Lady Myriana thought, Drogono is one of our strongest cavalary rally leaders! Once again however, she told herself, not now, focus, the battle is too close!

But the feeling of dread did not go away, and Lady Myriana saw how once more, NBe was able to win both races when the Ports opened. But when they wanted to swap Naima out for Ledogi, Vitoo was prepared. As one of RoD's strongest players, he managed to counter the swap perfectly, taking the Port for RoD. Was this the hope Lady Myriana needed, the turning point of the match?

Sadly that was not the case, Still, RoD was able to take over their own Port, but by that time NBe already had a small lead. Something RoD would have to make up if they wanted to win. Lady Myriana could feel her heart beating in her chest. Fortunately, Casterly Rock was on the verge of opening.

Lady Myriana held her breath when the bubble of Casterly rock fell, she was hopeful RoD's racers would capture it first, as this would ensure RoD's lead. However, when Lady Myriana looked at the map, she turned bleek with worry. NBe was able to win the race for Casterly Rock, but made an error during the swap, putting in the wrong rally leader. B3nni took advantage of this and succeeded in taking the castle for RoD!

Unfortunately,before Lady Myriana could celebrate she saw that this was short-lived, as NBe was able to take their Port while RoD was busy with Casterly Rock.

This was beginning to be quite a fight. Lady Myriana could feel the presure build in hear heart. Whenever RoD managed to take a building, NBe would find another opportunity elsewhere. RoD was able to catch up in points but gradually, buildings began to slip away, one by one.

The two alliances were very close when the Mines were about to open. The mines could make or break this moment, win the mines and the battle was theirs. With no time for a plan. Lady Myriana knew this and she couldn't remember the last time a battle had remained this close for so long. By this point, usually one alliance would have gained an advantage, but not now. Everything depended on the Mines.

Of course, she was concerned because losing after such a long battle would be disappointing. However, she was also excited. This was the first time in a long time she had been in a battle where everything would be decided in the last minutes.

Sadly, NBe managed to win both races when the Mines opened.

Lady Myriana's heart sank. Losing both Mines was the last thing she wanted to see, after everything RoD had done to close the gap. But she knew RoD would fight till the end and anything could still happen.

As soon as the bubbles dropped, Crimson jumped on the left Mine and captured it for RoD. NBe had, however, succeeded in swapping Barbarossa into the right Mine, making it slightly more challenging.

RoD was still just over 3,000 points behind, and so holding only one Mine wouldn't be sufficient. Lady Myriana knew they needed both.

But with Barbarossa defending the right Mine, it wasn't going to be easy.

RoD began setting rallies against Barbarossa, hoping to break through his defence. Lady Myriana knew that this was probably their last opportunity to win, as there would not be enough time to make up the difference without both Mines.

Rally after rally was sent towards the right Mine, until finally, TheBrain was able to break through and take it for RoD!

But the battle was not over yet. Taking the Mine was one thing, keeping it was another. Especially given how quickly NBe had managed to take buildings back throughout the match. Fortunately, one of RoD's strongest players, URCandy, was already making his way towards the Mine, and RoD was able to pull off a perfect swap.Lady Myriana finally felt a sign of relieve and she slowly let herself believe the match would be favorable for RoD.

Now it was only a matter of holding on. Lady Myriana continued to watch the map and the points. After all, NBe had proven several times that they could take advantage of even the smallest mistakes. This time, however, RoD was able to hold both Mines, closing the gap further and further and eventually taking the lead.

RoD had won!

This had been one of the most intense battles that Lady Myriana had experienced in quite some time. RoD had lost all their opening races, struggled to keep control of the buildings and had even been behind on points in the final stage of the match. However, they were able to turn things around.

Looking back, Lady Myriana was proud of how RoD had fought, particularly during the battle for the Mines. However, the match had demonstrated the strength of NBe as well. Their new additions had clearly made a difference, and they had kept RoD under pressure until the end.

Lady Myriana wondered what the rest of the season would be like if this had only been the first match.

But one thing was clear, this would not be the last time RoD and NBe faced each other on the battlefield.
