A new CCS lay before them; the members of K276 were set to take part as usual, but would wait at least an hour beforehand to find out which side they were supporting. For some time now, their only interest has been in earning the points needed to claim rewards, particularly combat diamonds. They are all still some way off obtaining the top-tier armour. Meanwhile, phase six of Lord of Lords was also underway. In recent months, with so few members in the realm, first place has been rotating amongst them. Last month it was Uriel the Great’s turn; now it was Kenpachi’s turn to take first place. But there was a problem: Uriel had carried out some reconnaissance that put him in the lead for a brief moment, whilst Kenpachi was slow to react, meaning that to take first place he would have to eliminate troops during the siege of the fortress. This battle has always been a unifying event for all members of the kingdom, as they act in unison to form an alliance and take part in it; consequently, an hour beforehand, they are already communicating with one another.

This time it was different; Kenpachi only had confirmation from Chayle, but Uriel and Lady Brissy hadn’t been in touch at all throughout the day. In any case, just to be on the safe side, he sent them a raven in case they’d forgotten.
They entered the arena and saw only two sides: one made up of the K31 crew, amongst whom they spotted Imperial Rock, and the other comprising a small group from RoD, who had previously been part of the old N30 alliance. Kenpachi began to have his doubts. The side with the clearest chance of winning was almost full, whilst the other side appeared to be a fairly tight-knit group. In any case, he left his alliance—HD at the time—and requested to join the group that was going to attack, as he knew the best way to earn points was on the attacking side. Although it also depends on who leads the rallies, and, on the other hand, who is defending, because sometimes the attackers are defeated too.

Without warning, he was expelled for no reason at all, just like other members. He waited to see what to do, because this was a problem; he was just a few points short, as he could see from the rankings. He stayed put, in the same position he was in; he didn’t understand why, but he couldn’t switch to the other side. If he sent the few troops he had to defend, he wouldn’t manage to catch up with Uriel in the rankings, and he’d have to train more troops. So he sent a raven to the alliance leader, along with a request to join.

He was told they couldn’t accept him because they believed they were spies for the enemy side. Kenpachi stayed put and replied again that they weren’t spies, that they just wanted elimination points. After a while, his application was accepted, but this time the rally involved a different type of troop.

The opposing side, seeing that they were the only ones attacking them – as there was no one else to do so – and to avoid suffering losses whilst defending, would disband from the fortress as soon as they saw them coming, only to retake it later. In this way, they avoided further losses and refused to let their opponents gain the satisfaction of eliminating their troops. Faced with this, the attackers withdrew halfway through the battle; Kenpachi was once again kicked out, yet despite this, he managed to score the elimination points needed to take first place in LOL, whilst his teammates failed to turn up – both of them had forgotten about that event.
