The Dragon's Last Stand - Arena of Honor Season 5 Round 13

Season 3 of Arena of Honor it's coming to an end soon, with just 3 rounds left to play [N0X]OliverQ is looking to get 3 more wins that would maybe probably possibly get him to the Glory King rank. Round 11 went great for him, managing to score a win but then he had to skip the 12th round so now with just 3 rounds he has to do everything he can to win. In the 2 weeks between rounds, he did his best to try and improve his troops, commanders and dragons and if with commanders and dragons he managed to do something right now, when it comes to valyrian weapons he's not there yet but the researchers are doing their best and he's only a few weeks away to getting them discovered. Time flew by and it was already Sunday, so it was time for OliverQ to head back to the mercenary camp for another round of solo que. He arrived there a bit after 12:00 and went directly to the registration tavern to sign the papers and then waited patiently for the matchmaking to be done by the Old Gods.

The matchmaking was quickly done, and it was now time for the warriors to step into the battlefield to see for which house they'll fight today. OliverQ was chosen by House Targaryen and together with him Daenerys also choose [6NK]ANUK, [VNV]NhayVL, [SCS]Sir Pangolin, [CcL]LionSombre, [WrL]Belvas, and [Rnd]Dragonetti.

Once he got to know his team, they all headed towards the Soth-West forests of the battlefield where House Targaryen's clan castle is located and upon arriving there, everyone set their camps around the castle and prepared for battle. OliverQ took the last few minutes of preparation phase to send some spies and see what the other houses are up to.

The information returned by the spies were quite troublesome, both Starks and Lannister's invited very strong teams to fight for them, but that didn't discourage OliverQ as he was set to try and repeat the win from the prior round. The time for spying was over as the battle start was announced and the strongholds dropped their protection bubble, so everyone rushed to occupy them and start the points generation.

Once the occupation time was done the team decided to once again go with military camps, this time infantry camps since the NPCs were spears, in hopes to occupy at least once more clan castle and maybe later on some catapults and watch towers to help them fight for the City of Glory.

The first part of their plan worked perfectly, and they managed to secure the House Tyrell's clan castle with the first NPCs attack and now they got access to 12 more strongholds. With their troops already spread with so many strongholds to level up, situation got even more complicated for the team when altars started opening. While being busy on the earlier fight for the altars, the team did a critical mistake and left their 2nd clan castle unsupervised, and the Lannister's took advantage of the situation and managed to sneak inside it.

OliverQ tried quite a few solo attacks to try and recover the clan castle, but Lannister's were on point with reinforcements and he had no success in doing so. Losing the clan castle also meant that they lost the access to the 12 strongholds that they spent so much time leveling but there was no time to complain as the round wasn't completely lost, yet at least. Seeing they are slowly losing in points, OliverQ decided to look around the battlefield to see how they could generate more points to make the fight sorta equal and he decided to challenge the dragonpits.

He managed to secure 2 of them and helped the team keep a chance at winning the round right before the opening of City of Glory.

Knowing the city is their last chance to turn this round around, the team decided to focus on it and instantly started a rally on it with [WrL] Belvas.

The rally got quickly filled and in a matter of minutes it was already challenging the ownership of the city. Belvas strength prevailed over the neutral NPCs and the House Targaryen managed to occupy the city

But now the hard part was coming, managing to defend the city against rallies while getting constantly hit by the catapults and losing 15% of the troops inside every minute. Despite being under constant presure for minutes after minute, the team managed to deflect the early waves of rallies without too many problems.

While being able to withstand the first waves of rallies, the catapults were taking a toll on the troops inside and the team had to really bring a game reinforcement if they wanted to hold the city and maybe win the round.

After a nerve-wracking back and forth battle with reinforcements barely getting inside the city before getting hit, the House Targaryen managed to secure the City of Glory, but did that secure them their win for the round?

Not even close, having 36 strongholds gave Lannister's a huge boost in points but still the team fought very well and securing the City of Glory gave them an extra 12 fame points. With 2 rounds left now to play, OliverQ is quite far of Glory King rank but maybe there's still a chance to get'it? We'll have to wait and see. See you all on the battlefield!
