AC PHR vs UIF

The battle for the Westerlands continues ! The Targaryens, relentless in their pursuit of the riches Casterly Rock promises now launch their third battle to try and conquer the golden place. Both the Lannisters and Targaryens have, as usual, called upon the great alliances of Westeros to fight for them. Representing the Targaryens are PHoenixRising (PHR) facing off against the Lannister’s champions UnionFrancophone (UIF). 

PHR get the numbers advantage with 56 fighters joining them in their effort for conquest while UIF get a slight disadvantage with 47 soldiers at the start of the battle. 

And it’s on ! kokanidja 1 captures the Targaryen outpost, Toni Ro captures the Tower of the Warrior and Yevgeniy takes the Temple of the Mother all for PHR. Their fine soldiers followed the plan almost perfectly with high speed moves and a 3/4 result. Only the Lannister outpost slipped from their hands and was captured by Raphhh for UIF. 

By the time the shields on the buildings wear off, both alliances have reinforced their positions, PHR doing it best with the Temple of the Mother being full. UIF reinforce their only outpost as well but only 18 soldiers show up and PHR used that opportunity to strike. Over four consecutive solo attacks bring the reinforcements from 18 down to 12. One UIF soldiers feels the emergency and sends his army to aid the defense but his lone effort is not nearly enough as another wave of PHR hits the the Lannister outpost bringing down the UIF forces in the building to only 5 brave soldiers. 

Finally, what both alliances saw coming happened as Arya Serious captures the Lannister outpost from Raphhh for PHR. But UIF will not let themselves lose without a fight ! They attack the Temple of the Mother and force 5 armies to leave the building after suffering too many losses. But PHR are a reactive bunch and not even a minute later, while UIF are still preparing another attack, they have fulled the 5 places that had opened. A very organized army is the way to victory, and PHR seems to be the most organized one today ! 

But UIF do not give up, they send more attacks, massive armies taking their time but hitting strong which brings down the Temple of the Mother from a fully defended fort to an 11 men loosely defended camp. There is still hope for UIF as they are able to deal damage but PHR still keep control and losing reinforcements, a building even is not enough to throw off their commanders. 

While this back and forth is happening, KINOU sneaked up on the PHR troops at the Lannister outpost and took them by surprise, so much so they took the building back for UIF. Immediately after, the ports open up and UIF are fast to protect their end of the battlefield thanks to CRONOS FR who takes the Lannister port. PHR on their side take the Targaryen port thanks to PateMoreland. 

It is not long before JaRod attacks the Lannister port and takes it as well. UIF got caught in their own trap, they attack and focus too much on the Temple of the Mother and forget about defending their other positions. But that focus may pay off and UIF do not let go of their plans. A new wave of three consecutive group attacks shakes the Temple and leaves it with only 7 PHR soldiers within ! Now PHR must reinforce it fast before UIF launches other attacks and captures it. 

5 of PHR’s soldiers are able to get to the Temple before the UIF forces and they hold off the first attack. The second one is a disaster hit for them as they lose 8 more armies, the Temple is now only defended by 4 of them, not nearly enough to resist the relentless attacks from UIF. An attack that comes straight after the last hit and allows Nanard1er to take control of the Temple for UIF. A well executed plan of huge group attacks to shake down the defenses followed by quick successive attacks to capture the building before reinforcements came. Very intelligent but also slow.

Too focused on their plans for the Temple of the Mother, UIF came to forget about Casterly Rock, something that PHR did not forget and Arya Serious captures it for them. The centre of the map, its most important building, the home of the Lannisters, controlled by the Targaryens because the lion forgot to look around. 

The strongholds open up and surprisingly enough, both alliances manage to capture the furthest one from them. The Targaryen one is taken by owwky for UIF and the Lannister one by HostenHolard for PHR. Both teams were so focused on arriving first to their enemies location they forgot to go to their own. The strongholds are as we know very important since they send regiments to attack enemy held positions, the question now is which position do each alliance prioritize ? 

And it’s Casterly Rock for UIF. They send the regiments there followed by a wave of their own attacks. After three attacks, lord filou takes control of the main building and allows the Lannisters to take back their ancestral home. 

But while this is happening, PHR have not been idle, they attacked the Targaryen stronghold and reduce its forces to only 1 UIF soldier holding it down, an impossible defense, before Grig 64 adds the final touch and captures the stronghold for PHR. 

PHR may have thought they got full control of the strongholds after that victory… They would be wrong. Their stronghold was only reinforced to half capacity and it was felt when giraff attacked it and took control of it for UIF right after they had lost their own stronghold near the Targaryen camp. The back and forth continues as both alliances answer each and every hit. 

UIF now control the 3 building on the top left of the map, a sign of their focus in that region, focus which has paid off but also shown to be counter productive in some ways. This time it is, they lose Casterly Rock to Lord Mix right after they took back the Lannister stronghold, one position won, one lost. But not for long !! KINOU captures the Rock again bursting through the PHR defenses and forcing himself into the Lannister home ! 

And it goes from bad to worse for PHR as they lose the Targaryen stronghold again after the loss of the Rock, owwky captures it for UIF for a second time in less than a half hour. But no time to waste on the strongholds as the mines open up and both are taken by UIF !! They have completely reversed the tables in the last 10 min of the battle, from losing one-sidedly to overwhelming their foe : impressive! 

PHR do not accept this change and charge fully on the mines. They launch attacks after attacks, chipping away at the UIF defenses with each and every troop sent and after a full minute of attacks, without any rest, only attacks, Funbuns captures the Targaryen mine while Lord Mix captures the Lannister one. Those new controlled spaces are reinforced immediately and with that PHR keeps control of the spaces while they collect all the gold left in those mines. 

With about 2 minutes left in the match, PHR reaches the maximum amount of points and decides to leave the battlefield, letting UIF take control of the map for the little time remaining. 

The game comes to an end and PHR wins this battle with 80k points while UIF finished with 50k points. A great win for PHR who made the difference at the start of the fight with a great control of buildings but also when they tool control of the mines and didn’t let UIF keep it for long, stopping them from actually gaining lots of points from it. The latter put up a great fight, they didn’t give up when being overwhelmed at the start of the game but kept going and used one main tactic of group attacks followed by quick solo attacks to take control of buildings. This worked well and they even dominated for a short while but against a simply stronger opponent, it is difficult to hold locations when they simply spam solo attacks that have great effects on their defenses. Overall a great game with two alliances giving it their all.
