Spring was on its way out in Westeros, and that particular noon was so hot, MAJOr felt it was very possible he might cook inside his armour. However taking it off was inconceivable as the warriors of the WXD alliance would soon compete on the second round of the twenty third season of Ultimate Conquest.
It was one of the few times he did not need to be told with whom they were up against as their shotcaller had been hammering the name of their opponent to them for days. Apparently he was very excited for them to be facing HOH alliance, as HOH was a strong alliance, who played excellently and would be their first real test to see if they had a team that could rise high this Ultimate Conquest.
Predictably, their shotcaller was still going on undeterred by the fact that they were about to enter the battlefield.
So, remember today you need to play very seriously as our opponent will not allow us to make any mistakes. They know their stuff and is about time to see if we know ours. We will be doing racing, swaps and rallies so be focused, fight hard and show what you are worth, said the WXD strategist finishing his speech.
MAJOr marched decidedly to the battlefield ready to give it his all. He was concentrating when he heard Jiku, the young warrior next to him, gasp. Startled, he opened his eyes and looked at the enemy camp and almost gasped himself. HOH had merely thirty one warriors on their side, while WXD had a full roster of seventy warriors.
The trumpets heralding the start broke the absolute silence that had engulfed their camp. The racers were off like lightning and WXD captured three of the four buildings. Neik captured Mother for HOH, while Light Yagami got Warrior, Jiku the Targaryen Outpost, and TGR the Lannister Outpost.

After the buildings were captured they were waiting for instructions but none were forthcoming.
Aren’t I supposed to disband? Jiku asked MAJOr, starting to panic..
I would have expected you to get swapped, yes, answered MAJOr truthfully, but since you are not, do your best to keep the Outpost safe.
Once more they turned expectantly to the strategist’s side, expecting rallies to be called for Mother, but again silence greeted them.
The rally leaders, not believing their luck, started soloing Mother, and pretty soon Relax ended up with the building.

The ports opened and the racers set off, racing fully focused as always. WXD racers proved victorious with Imperial Rock capturing Targaryen port, while Strawberry had taken Lannister port.

Again they turned to their strategist, but it seemed he had fallen into a deep depression. He had such high hopes for that match, it looked like he had lost his will to shotcall it. However, all was not going as smoothly as it seemed.
MAJOr, Jiku called urgently to him, can you please send me some troops? I am having a hard time here. I am being soloed.
MAJOr rushed over to help him, and he arrived just in time to help him defend.

Ouch, that hurt!! MAJOr exclaimed who has not been waiting to be hit this hard by a solo attack. He withdrew his troops to heal them.
MAJOr come again, they are coming with rallies now, called Jiku with such desperation, that MAJOr joined with whatever soldiers he found in his haste to get there in time.

MAJOr was so busy replenishing his troops on the poor besieged Targaryen Outpost, that he completely missed the Casterly Rock race and how Banana captured the building.

And suddenly the miracle happened, and their strategist was once more issuing orders.
Well done Banana, but let us try a swap!!!, he called. This will be a little difficult as there is someone from HOH arriving at the same time, but we should try it. Bzzb be ready to go in three two one….
The countdown was good but orso actually managed to intercept.

We will take care of this once its bubble falls, and in the meantime let’s see what we can do with the Outpost. Good work everyone in keeping it, but no need to bleed that badly. Jiku, if you can on the next attack disband on Bloodwick. Can you do that?

For sure I can, said Jiku happily to have guidance again. Bloodwick was near, but Jiku was experienced and he had no problem to time his disband just right.

Casterly Rock bubble was still on, when the race for the strongholds came to be. Both were won by WXD, but MAJOr could not suppress a groan when he saw that the second one, had been won from Jiku again.

My poor troops, not again!!, MAJOr thought in despair but he was distracted by the strategist who called rallies for CR.

Casterly Rock fell easy to the first wave, but luck was not with WXD as it ended up with not one of its assigned leads.

Crimson solo the outpost please. The WXD strategist called especially for Crimson Dawn as his very strong cavalry line would cause problems even for such a splendid inf as Bloodwick had. Crimson Dawn set to his task with gusto, while the rest were waiting for the players cities to lose their bubbles.

I have this feeling that I am forgetting something, MAJOR had this naggy feeling, and since he could not shake it, he abandoned hitting the HOH warriors castles and surveyed the buildings WXD had.

CR, he yelped in panic, trying to raise the alarm, but it was too late. CR fell.

OK guys, time to rally again. Call the banners and fill them fast, and please let us try this time to time it better, called the strategist as soon as the bubble fell. The WXD warriors followed his instructions to the letter and this time it was Banana who regained CR.

HOH continued to try to probe the WXD defenses, but this time WXD was ready and was defending all buildings, watching like a hawk. Soon it was time for the mines, which both were won by WXD.

Let us try to swap bzzb again, the WXD strategist called. This swap is harder than CR since the bubble falls fast.
To his surprise this time the swap went off without a hitch, and the strategist started to think that they might even be able to acquit themselves decently in the rest of the Ultimate Conquest matches.
The trumpets signalled the end of the battle. WXD had won.

So did we learn enough from this match as you were expecting, MAJOr asked the strategist.
It was not you who needed to learn, as it turned out, after all, replied the strategist with a wry smile. But I do promise you, the lesson has been learnt, and I will not be thrown off my game again.
MAJOr passed a flagon of wine to the strategist, and they toasted to their win, and joined to celebrate that they remained so far undefeated this season.
If they remained undefeated to the end, stay tuned to find out…..
