So, they meet again - Ultimate Conquest Round 2 - [N0X] vs [OBV]

As the Summer is setting in, [N0X] is preparing for the 2nd round of the Ultimate Conquest. They had a great Alliance Conquest Season 23 that ended with 4 wins and 2 loses and they managed to qualify for the Ultimate Conquest from the 12th place. That meant the first round of UC it's going to be a very difficult one and it was against [BDR] that gave [N0X] no real chance at winning.

But the things were about to change for [N0X] as in the 2nd round they were going to fight an old enemy, [OBV]. [N0X] and [OBV fought multiple times in the past and they even fought in the current Alliance Conquest season where after a very disputed match, [N0X] managed to secure the win.

But unlike Alliance Conquest regular season, Ultimate Conquest is a double elimination event, so after both alliances losing their first match and going into losers bracket it was do or die for both and [N0X] was expecting to meet a way more determined [OBV] so they made preparations accordingly and handpicked the 70 warriors from the alliance that were going to fight for the round. With everything set and done, as it was already almost evening, everyone headed towards the UC battlefield and once they arrived there, they started entering the battlefield with [N0X] heading towards the South-West forests of the battlefield as they were fighting for the Targaryen's this time.

With just a few minutes left till the battle start, [N0X] was at a slight numbers disadvantage with only 68 of the 70 warriors present on the battlefield, but then on the last call another member arrived, and they were only 1 warrior short of the max.

The battle started quickly after with the opening of the 2 outposts, the temple of mother and the tower of warrior and the [N0X] racers were on fire, they managed to secure all the 4 buildings and now it was time to start the swaps. Now swapping 4 buildings in under a minute it's going to be a hard task for the shot callers and the fillers but once again [N0X] did extremely well and all the swaps were performed flawlessly.

With having such a great start, [N0X] thought this is going to be a very easy fight, right? Wrong. As they were still busy with swapping buildings, the [OBV] were already starting their rally waves, their target being the tower of warrior.

They managed to fill the rallies extremely fast, withing 30 seconds of declaring they were already releasing them, and it kind of took [N0X] by surprise as they couldn't reinforce in time and LordStrandli lost the tower to AnuBIAS.

Despite being the first hit only, it was a wakeup call for [N0X] that [OBV] is there to fight and if they want to win, they have to stay focused. After getting the tower they rallied temple of mother but this time [N0X] knew what they're going to do so they were ready.

With the help of the reinforcements, the rally wave got deflected and the temple was once again safe, for now at least. It was time for the ports to open and this time, the buildings were split equally, 1 port for each alliance.

To maintain a superiority on the battlefield, [N0X] needed the tower of warrior back to get the base stats buffs so they quickly rallied the target while [OBV] rallied the Targaryen Outpost.

[OBV] launched first and they managed to take the outpost and now [N0X] had to launch on the tower while having a base attack disadvantage.

Their rallies were good, but they weren't enough to kick Goosey 2 and [N0X] were slowly losing terrain against [OBV]. To make things even worse for them, when the Casterly Rock opened, it was the [OBV] racers that managed to grab 'it and points per minute were equal now.

Things were rolling downhill now and in a matter of minutes [N0X] lost the Targaryen Port too.

And then the real german in Belore II woke up and everyone in Westeros could hear things that can't be reproduced here. But it worked as [N0X] got up, dusted off and started pushing back, first by taking the Targaryen Outpost back to nullify [OBV] base stats buffs.

Then Sheva K61 managed to intercept [OBV] swap on the Casterly Rock and [N0X] managing to swap Balrum in kind of sealed the deal on that building.

Both alliances were going back and forth on occupying buildings, losing them, rallying them but as [N0X] were managing to keep one port and the Casterly Rock, [OBV] were getting quite desperate and started focusing the Casterly Rock. For like 15 minutes the castle was under complete siege, with waves of rallies coming every minute or so, but none of them were managing to break Balrum.

But then in the heat of the battle, 2 quite critical mistakes were made by [N0X]. They used the bubble stratagem on the port by mistake so they won't have'it for mines and more importantly they reinforced the Casterly Rock at 25/25 and [OBV] used the locking stratagem so the CR couldn't be pre reinforced.

The locking worked for [OBV] and without incoming reinforcements they managed to break [N0X] defenses there but [N0X] kept the castle for so long they were at a very high points advantage, so the situation wasn't too bad for them, unless they'd lose both mines. With everyone's attention on the mines, it was up to the racers to secure at least one of them and with it the victory for their alliance.

[OBV] racers were faster on mines so everyone in [N0X] was like: It's going to be one of those days huh?

DYW didn't agree with [N0X]'s taking and intercepted the swap and the victory was in sight for [N0X]. As they were getting desperate for points [OBV] instantly rallied the mine and while the first 2 waves of rallies didn't break DYW, the 3rd one did and they lost the mine. A very intense battle took place in the last 10 minutes of the match with both alliances trying to rally buildings and defend from the rallies coming from the enemy side.

It was one of the best Ultimate Conquest matched fought by Shado and LadyKnight, both alliances gave everything they had but at the end [N0X] just did the things better when and where it mattered the most and managed to secure the win against a stronger alliance. Now they are heading towards the next round while [OBV] is going home. Will [N0X] be able to win the next round too and get another top 8 in Ultimate Conquest or [FDH] will be too much for them to handle? We'll have to wait and see. See you all on the battlefield!
