Hotep was excited. For the very first time, he would have the opportunity to play in a Super League UC Final. And potentially even win his first one as well. He was, once again, helping WxD and it was a rematch against their opponent from the semi finals, RoD.

In their last match, WxD had won quite convincingly, but that was mostly due to their luck with racing, something that could quickly change as well, especially since the latest update had changed some small things regarding racing that could have a big impact for either side.

WxD had planned to stay the same for now regarding that, so Hotep was not planning on doing any racing. He was thinking about it, though, leading him to bring some cav, just in case.

RoD was already well known to WxD by now. They had very strong accounts, just like WxD, so the main factor for the win would be coordination.

When the map opened, WxD’s plan to keep things the same backfired, with RoD winning 3 out of 4 races.

And things would not get better. Their swap would get soloed out, and while they got the other outpost in return, their first rally wave on warrior failed.

After the initial shock, WxD focused again, racing and swapping far port while solo taking the close port with their first rally wave.

They followed that up by winning their first defense on the far port.

After the ports, Hotep was finally assured he could race and that there would be a slow marcher, so he set out to race for CR next, but until the last minute he was not sure, before deciding to just try it. What's the worst thing to happen?

Not the cleanest race, but somehow, he had gotten it. He had no time to celebrate, though, just yet. He still had to swap, and CR swaps are notoriously difficult. While the shotcallers tried to see which slow march was the slowest to decide between speeding and walking in the slow march, Hotep was getting more and more stressed out, especially when the time got into single digits and there was still no decision.

What if the leader did not give him the call in time? Should he disband on bzzb anyway and pray? Or let him bounce and hope for a hard swap? Why did he even race for this again? His stress was at an extremely high level.

Luckily he got the call, not a frame too early, since Hotep disbanded the second bzzb walked in, and with great reinforcing, the building was filled quickly, marking probably one of the cleanest swaps Hotep had ever seen.- And he was part of it!

Now with his mental crisis gone and his moment in the spotlight coming to an end, Hotep had time to reflect and realize he had just won the most competitive race in a UC final. No matter how this ended, he would keep this in mind forever for sure.

But he still had a match to finish, which was far from over.

After gaining momentum, WxD took out all buildings besides the 2 towers and defended both their port and CR.

CR became RoD’s main focus, and while they had some good attempts, they did not win. And each time they defended a small part of Hotep said that this was partly his work by winning the race earlier.

WxD would lose the close Outpost to Candy, giving them a warrior buff back but at the same time locking one of their strongest and most active accounts away. Similar to the last match, WxD mainly focused on defense again now, while doing attempts on low RoD buildings with solos. They got Warrior down below 3 mil twice, but RoD was always just that little bit faster.

A highlight of the match was GG boy, who somehow held the enemy outpost for around 30 minutes with low reinforcements since WxD had close to no cav. A rally wave from RoD would have kicked him for sure, but RoD was always focused elsewhere.

After failing on bzzb’s CR at least 5 times, RoD decided to lock the reinforcements in, but even that could be defended by one normal defense, then followed up by a bubble against the second wave.

2 attempts later, RoD would finally get CR, but it had taken them 25 minutes. And in those 25 min WxD had stacked up way too many points. They put Meridianos in, but in a way that was good for WxD since that was one less strong account fighting for mines.

When the mines opened, Hotep was a little bit too slow, sadly. RoD had tried to snipe him but had been too slow. Still he got beaten, and RoD got both buildings. If RoD could hold both, they still had a chance, but they tried to swap both at the same time, which was too difficult for them, allowing bzzb to snipe one.

WxD could have gone for the second mine but decided to just hold and secure their win that way, which they did. With all their focus on that mine, WxD’s defenses were impenetrable.

The match concluded by WxD, just for fun, locking CR and taking it with a rally wave followed up by some single rallies and solos, denying RoD the 60k just to mess with some people’s predictions.

It had been another great match, and although 69 others, of course, also had a huge impact, for Hotep it really felt like he had had a big impact in this match, something he could have never dreamed of for a final. After the initial issues, they had recovered and then continued to do what they did best. All that was left to say was GG to everyone, especially the friends he had made in WxD. And with the last match of UC just ending, Hotep was already sad his favorite event was over. Hopefully it would return sooner rather than later…
