💠Introduction
What’s up, folks? Welcome back to my Illusion Battlefield (IB) series, where I take a closer look at different matches. IB is different from the IB League tournament in that you will use your normal teams, skill sets, talents, and decoration skins, so strength is extremely relevant. The mode is also much slower-paced. Relocations and marching speed are slower. The event is one of the most entertaining events in Infinity Kingdom, and players enjoy spectating, almost like a sporting event. In this article, I’m going to take a closer look at the regular season match between Server 73’s The Arcane(ARC) and Server 209’s Hungry Kitties(HK).

💠Overview
Both alliances are firmly among the top five in the game, making this one of the strongest matchups possible. HK received a major boost in the offseason by adding several of the strongest players in the game, giving them a significant firepower advantage over most opponents. ARC, meanwhile, remains a disciplined and experienced IB team, but many of their strongest accounts rarely participate, leaving them at a disadvantage in direct fights. HK's biggest weakness has historically been their rotations and objective allocation, while ARC's primary issue is a lack of top-end power. If HK can rotate their strongest players efficiently and avoid spreading them too thin, they should enter the match with the upper hand.
💠Starting Positions and Talents
ARC
- Started with 32 players and ended with 40
- 17 Attack talents
- 11 Defense talents
- 4 Support talents
HK
- Started with 26 players and ended with 39
- 18 Attack talents
- 8 Defense talents
- 0 Support talents
💠Tower 1
ARC sent 10 players to Tower 1 while HK committed 9, creating one of the more evenly matched openings on the map. The two teams used nearly identical positioning around the objective, but HK held a significant advantage by assigning one of their strongest players to anchor the tower. While ARC has a slight numbers edge, that advantage could quickly disappear if HK's anchor is able to win trades and force ARC to commit extra resources. Tower 1 is likely to come down to whether ARC can eliminate HK's weaker players before the anchor player takes control of the fight.

💠Tower 4
ARC sent 11 players to Tower 4 with one overlap, while HK committed 9. HK’s positioning was noticeably weaker, and they failed to take advantage of several edge spawns that could have been used to block incoming ARC relocations. At minimum, HK should have been able to deny one relocation and disrupt ARC’s setup. Instead, ARC established cleaner positioning closer to the objective and also held the numbers advantage. Unless HK’s stronger players can swing the fights individually, ARC should have the edge at Tower 4.

💠Central Tower
ARC sent 7 players to the Central Tower while HK committed 5, including their strongest player. On paper, ARC has the numbers advantage, but the presence of HK’s top account changes the equation entirely. With the tower not opening until the 10-minute mark, HK’s strongest player has plenty of time to influence fights, absorb pressure, and create openings for reinforcements. Unless ARC can find a way to isolate and eliminate him, it will be very difficult for them to establish lasting control of the area. As a result, HK should have the edge in the center despite being outnumbered.

💠Altars
ARC sent one player to the Sun Altar. Neither team sent anyone to the Moon Altar.
💠Home Towers
ARC stationed one guard at their home tower. HK had six at theirs, which is far too many in the opening minutes.
💠Play-by-Play
At Tower 1, HK immediately seized control by destroying a relocation and quickly zeroing two ARC players, including one of ARC’s stronger members. They then focused all of their pressure on ARC’s strongest player at the tower, bombarding him with attacks until he finally fell. Once he was removed from the fight, ARC had little ability to contest the objective. HK captured Tower 1 just 6 minutes into the match and proceeded to wipe the remaining ARC players from the area.

At Tower 4, HK struck first by zeroing two ARC players positioned next to the tower. ARC answered by eliminating one HK player, but HK maintained the momentum and kept applying pressure around the objective. For a time, it looked as though ARC might lose control of the area, but the tide turned when some of ARC’s strongest players moved from the back lines to the front. With their key players finally in position, ARC surrounded the tower, removed several of HK’s biggest threats, and secured the objective at the 11-minute mark.

In the middle, HK opened by destroying a relocation and quickly zeroing another ARC player. ARC was able to deal meaningful damage to several HK members and looked competitive for stretches of the fight, but they had no answer for HK’s strongest player. He steadily dismantled ARC’s presence in the center, eliminating defenders one by one while anchoring the area. As ARC’s numbers dwindled, HK tightened its control around the objective and captured the Central Tower at the 13-minute mark.

At the 12-minute mark, HK began pressuring ARC’s home tower, sending a couple of players to challenge the four defenders stationed there. A few minutes later, two more HK players joined the attack, including the anchor who had secured Tower 1. ARC managed to zero one invader early, but HK answered by eliminating three defenders and steadily building momentum. More HK players continued to teleport and relocate into the area, and although ARC picked off a few attackers, they could not stop the growing pressure. HK eventually overwhelmed the defense and stole ARC’s home tower at the 28-minute mark. Shortly afterward, HK launched another attack on Tower 4 and captured that objective as well. HK already held an 18,000-point lead before taking Tower 4, and that second capture effectively put the match out of reach.

💠Summary
HK crushed ARC 100,000 to 28,700, with Hina earning MVP. HK leveraged its superior firepower perfectly, rotating its strongest players around the map and forcing ARC to react at every turn. Without many of their top accounts participating, ARC simply had no answer to HK’s elite players and consistently lost key engagements. ARC did create a few opportunities by teleporting onto weakly defended objectives, but they lacked the strength to hold those towers once HK responded. In the end, HK’s combination of power and rotations proved overwhelming.
