Welcome to my weekly edition of Player’s Digest, where I’ll take a look at some of the recent happenings, summarize them in a digestible way, provide some context and thoughts, and help readers keep up with all things related to Infinity Kingdom.

💠Illusion Battlefield

It’s another week of regular Illusion Battlefield, but this round features far more uneven matchups than recent weeks. Several of the game’s strongest alliances have been paired against significantly weaker opponents, creating a number of one-sided battles where the outcome appears largely predetermined. While a few matches may still offer competitive moments, most of the marquee alliances should advance comfortably unless a major upset occurs.

Server 70’s GOD defeated Server 291’s MG08.
Server 115’s DH beat Server 145’s Midnight Sun.
Server 136’s AWG beat Server M022’s alliance.
Server 136’s SKY defeated Server 57’s UiP.
Server 191’s Inka beat Server 73’s BUNS.
Server 209’s HK defeated Server 73’s ARC.

💠Patch 2.9.6 Notes

Patch 2.9.6 introduces Deepsea Venture, a revamped event featuring new Affinity-related content, including daily Affinity Gifting missions, while also adding the Squad Survival Tournament for Seasons 1 and 2. The patch includes several quality-of-life improvements such as displaying Affinity levels on immortal profiles, expanding the Norheim Survival Guide, and overhauling Battle of Asteria progression by resetting all players to Difficulty 1 and introducing a more structured progression and reward system. On the balance side, the new Legendary Skill Thorn Armor strengthens Counterattack-based teams through physical damage reduction and damage reflection, while Great Tengu receives a significant buff through Unbreakable Pact, which now grants teamwide debuff immunity after cleansing, further reinforcing Tengu's role as a premier support immortal and increasing the value of Counterattack-focused compositions.

💠Legion of Frostborne

Another season of KvK is underway, with matchmaking finalized earlier this week and alliances beginning preparations for the campaign ahead. While there are a few intriguing matchups on paper, most brackets appear relatively straightforward and unlikely to produce major upsets. Notably, four of the five strongest Legendary Season servers were placed into the same bracket after months of lopsided matchmaking, creating one highly competitive region while leaving several other brackets with clear favorites from the outset.

In Region 35, Server 38’s Ascendants of Asgard, Server 73’s BUNS, Server 136’s AWG, Server 160’s BP, and Server 191’s Inka, all smaller alliances, will see if AWG can topple Ascendants of Asgard.
In Region 36, Server 56’s HMB, Server M021’s UW, Server 115’s DH, and Server 209’s O66 will battle it out with HMB being the huge favorites.
In Region 39, Server 231’s CN is the overwhelming favorite against Server 70’s GOD, Server 277’s WIB, and Server M022’s LAST.
The biggest and most competitive bracket is in Region 44 where Server 38’s AoW and Server 209’s HK will battle against Server 136’s SKY and Server 73’s ARC.

💠Summary

Illusion Battlefield saw mostly one-sided matches this week as top alliances handled weaker opponents. Patch 2.9.6 adds Deepsea Venture, Battle of Asteria changes, Thorn Armor, and a major Great Tengu buff. A new KvK season has also begun, with Region 44 shaping up to be the most competitive bracket.
