The Solo Champion - Arena of Honor Season 5 Round 9

With Spring getting close to its end in Westeros and prepares to make room for the scorching Summer, the Arena of Honor's Season 5 it's now heading towards the 9th round. As the rounds passed by, the fights got better and better for OliverQ, he accumulated more experience and he improved his battle stats quite a lot and with just 5 research left to do for him to unlock the last tier of troops things are looking better and better. Despite always fighting in solo queue, the results starting to show and he's heading towards the 9th round with a 5-winning streak, hoping to keep the streak going.

He did the preparations he could before the round and now, as its already Sunday at noon, he took his troops and commanders and headed towards the Mercenary Camp. Once he arrived there, he registered for the upcoming round and then waited along his commanders for the Old Gods to finish the matchmaking.

The matchmaking was done within minutes, and it was now time for the houses to choose the warriors that will fight in their name for this round. OliverQ got chosen by Cersei Lannister to fight for her house and together with him Cersei also choose [6NK]ANUK, [GJs]SchnappSie, Nemo 04, Marecky, [MDB]BIG Taco, [SCS]Zruuuda, [QKA]abebaby and [Btp]Merlin I.

Once all the teams were chosen, everyone stepped inside and headed towards their respective clan castles with OliverQ and his team having to go thru the southern desert to reach House Lannister's Clan Castle in the south-east forests of the battlefield. Once they arrived there, everyone started setting their camps around the castle and as mostly always, OliverQ decided to do a battlefield sweep and see what they are up against.

The news wasn't bad, the battlefield had some strong warriors on it, but nobody way above the others and most importantly, no premade teams, so the team actually had a good chance to win the fight, if they played well of course.

There was no time left for strategies as the match started quickly after with the opening of the strongholds and everyone rushed to occupy and reinforce them quickly to start the points generation.

Once the 2 minutes of occupation were done, it was time for the construction to start and OliverQ as the team commander decided to go once again with military camps, specifically cavalry camps to counter the neutral NPCs guarding the watch towers and catapults.

The strategy worked once again, and the House Lannister managed to occupy House Baratheon's clan castle with the first attack from their NPCS.

With 2 Clan Castles now secured, it was time for the team to focus on the altars as they started opening and holding as many as possible will surely benefit them in the economy of the fight. With so many altars to occupy and not so much time OliverQ decided to go in full force without scouting and hope for the best.

His strategy worked for a while at least, as he was taking enemies by surprise and end their presence in the altars swiftly but as the time progressed, they noticed OliverQ's strategy and started reinforcing each other and OliverQ suffered some crushing defeats, so he had to go back to scouting before attacking. Despite suffering some setbacks, the House Lannister managed to secure enough altars in time and good that they did cause the most important building, the City of Glory was about to drop the protective bubble open for attacks.

When the City of Glory opened, the House Lannister was way behind in points, being in danger to be defeated even by the AI teams so OliverQ decided to do something about it and tried to get the City of Glory with solo attacks, but the army guarding 'it it's waste and of higher tier and he barely managed to chip the forces inside so he decided to bring up the heavy artillery and started rallying.

Despite being at numbers disadvantage, OliverQ managed to win the fight and now the House Lannister team had to prepare their defenses. Every warrior reinforced the city, there were so many troops defending it, but the rallies were outnumbering them 10:1 and without catapults they had a very hard mission defending it. Despite doing their best, the rallies were too many and coming in a quick succession it was almost impossible for them to defend, so the city fell into enemy hands once again and they got back into attacking position.

The battle continued between House Lannister, House Targaryen and House Stark for tens of minutes, troops falling on all sides, rallies after rallies hitting from everywhere and it was looking like no house is strong enough to keep the city for the 4 minutes required.

After tens of minutes of back-and-forth fighting, the team managed to set their defenses good and led by OliverQ they finally managed to secure the City of Glory with just a few minutes left and that concluded the round.

After a very hard-fought battle, OliverQ and the rest of the team seen the results of never giving up and fighting till the end. The win it's even more important for OliverQ as he managed to keep the winning streak going and got another 48 fame points that might help him get a high placement in the rankings at the end of the season. Will he be able to continue winning in the solo queue as rounds get more and more dangerous? We'll have to wait and see. See you all on the battlefield!
