Alone once again - Arena of Honor Season 5 Round 7

After getting a few wins with his team, due to the Easter celebrations in Westeros, the team couldn't participate to the upcoming round 7 so [N0X]Shado was heading towards the solo queue once again. Before the actual round he tried knocking on a few doors to see if there are teams playing on Easter day with open spots but unfortunately for him no doors got open. Knowing that the next round it's going to be very hard but still wanting to try and get a win, he prepared as good as he possibly could and on Sunday evening, he started marching towards the Mercenary Camp. Upon his arrival there, he immediately headed towards the registration office and signed the required papers to participate to the round and then waited patiently for the Old Gods to complete the matchmaking.

With the matchmaking now done, it was time for the warriors to step on the battlefield to see for whom and against whom they'll fight in this round. Shado got chosen by Cersei Lannister to fight for the House Lannister on this round and along him Cersei also choose [Av0]CasYd, [Lik]Andrena, [BDR]DonRwetter, [B*A]Araedog, [RoD]fsm. [EdF]Orlandus and [HOH]Lady Daria.

Once the other 2 houses also picked their teams everyone headed towards their houses' clan castles, with Shado and her team heading thru the southern desert towards the South-East forests of the battlefield where House Lannister's clan castle is located and once everyone arrived there, they started putting up their camps and do last minute preparations. While doing so Shado also decided to use a few of those minutes to send scouts to the other houses and see what they up to.

Team Presentation

The news that scouts got back were both good and bad, there were a lot of strong warriors on the battlefield but at least Targaryen's and Starks didn't invite premade teams this time. The time for thoughts and strategies was over however, as the horn announcing the start of the battle was heard and everyone rushed to occupy the first set of strongholds.

Strongholds

With the strongholds fully occupied now, it was time for the construction to start and Shado as the chosen team commander decided to go with military camps in hopes that his team will be able to hold the City of Glory and win the round that way. The construction ended just in time as the altars started opening and everyone in the team will need all their troops moving to reinforce and attack if they wanted to do anything good in this round.

Unlike other rounds where the first sets of altars are quite chill with every house taking their altars, it wasn't the case for round 7 as the battle heated up from the first minutes and lasted for the rest of the fight. Shado and the other strong warriors on his team were doing a great job securing altars and their NPCs were taking advantage of those extra stats and managed to occupy all the watch towers for now and later on, the catapults. The battle for altars only got on the 2nd plan once the round headed towards it's mid and it was time for the City of Glory to drop the bubble and open for attacks.

City of Glory

With the gates of city now open, waves of solos started from all sides of the battlefield and for once Shado decided to participate to the dance too, like what could go wrong?

Nothing went wrong for once, he managed to get into the city and got reinforced in time by the other warriors in the team, so he prepared his defenses as good as he possibly could and prepared for the upcoming rallies. Once the rallies arrived on the vale where the city if located tens of millions of troops started clashing on the City of Glory walls, so many troops falling on each side, the snow was quickly turning red, and the troops were fighting on top of what once were their comrades.

Shado was doing a great job defending the city with the help of his teams' reinforcements, they just had to last a little bit more to fully occupy'it and there was only 1 last rally charging towards the city. With the reinforcements being scarce, the last rally did just a formality and kicked the Lannister's out of the City of Glory. It was now time for them to go on offensive so Shado and fsm organized 2 rallies and they quickly got filled and in a matter of seconds they were at the city gates ready to challenge the Starks.

Despite losing the rally Shado and fsm did quite some signifiant damage and that allowed the next rallies to change the city leadership once again. The battle kept going back and forward for mostly the rest of the round until the Starks managed to reinforce in time and they occupied the city with just a few minutes left to play.

Bitter defeat for Shado and his team, as they were so close to taking the city and get the first place, but things don't go always as planned. He's taking the 10 fame points and the rest of rewards and head back to N0X castle with hopes that he'll be able to find another team and start winning once again. But that's a story for another time. See you all on the battlefield!
