A Young Lord of the Ancient Kingdoms Part 112 (It's Getting Complicated... AOH)

The day was already cloudy but very calm. Everything had a muted tone, and the grasses swayed in the same rhythm as the cold wind. In the distant hills, the wind lay peacefully against the walls of the kingdom, yet the cold was still felt by all its inhabitants.
"What could be causing this? It doesn't seem like a good sign," the people wondered.
And while from the top of his tower, our Lord gazed serenely at his people, he considered bad omens, but he didn't believe much in such things, for he was already preparing for an approaching battle.
"Men, supplies, armor, and weapons ready, all prepared... let's go for it..." our Lord exclaimed to his officers.
Well, this was already underway for what would be the next "Arena of Honor (AOH)" battle.
Already prepared with his two companions, since his friend AmaiAmai could no longer participate in the battle, this time it would be DarkSama and QUEEN. But this time he would have to be careful, as the difficulty was higher and there were more dangerous enemies.
With that said, the next day they would register, and once their allies were counted, they would enter the battle. For the second time in a row, they would fight under the Stark banner, entrusting their strength to the great direwolves of the North.

The great STARK FACTION, along with its counterparts, THE GREYJOY FACTION;
Also with the TARGARYEN FACTION, and its counterparts, the TYRELL FACTION;

And finally the LANNISTER FACTION, with its copies the BARATHEON FACTION.

Among all these enemies, our Lord had battle companions he would encounter again: CNMD of the KAC and Rootinfo, another Lord from the same alliance.
It was complicated because, despite knowing each other, there would be no truce or friendship, only competition. Our Lord was more concerned about CNMD; he used to be an archer, but now he saw him with a cavalry formation and set, knowing he was strong.

Amidst all this, they were already prepared for battle. It was clear everyone was active, a crucial factor in combat. Among the participants were others with unusual names that would be difficult to spell, but they were skilled warriors, though they struggled to fight alone, not in groups.
This wasn't ideal for our Lord, but it was the only way to fight, since selecting a team these days is complicated; you can easily find Lords who don't even join the fight and abandon their squads.

Amidst all this, while the construction was underway, our Lord realized the objective was to target the troops, specifically the towers. Seeing that these were spearmen, he decided to focus on infantry, using a hybrid formation of spearmen to counter the enemy cavalry.
However, the challenge now was that all the enemies were using troop formations, requiring him to fight against them while constantly adjusting his buildings to counter them.
These formations made combat extremely difficult. Our Lord believed that the troops sent would inherit the stats of the expedition leader from the main castle, so he sent Queen to fight, as he couldn't manage the main attack himself since the majority of the enemies were cavalry.
Meanwhile, DarkSama would take the copy castle in exchange for our Lord capturing the dragon lairs and fighting for the main castle.

Things had spiraled out of control. The transition DarkSama orchestrated with our Lord had resulted in the loss of the castle. Our Lord suspected that he had sent his Lord to hold out, and he also saw that the castle hadn't been reinforced.
One of these two factors would lead to the loss of Castle Greyjoy, which had already been captured, and this time it would fall into the hands of the Targaryen faction. This would be disastrous, as our Lord would also be losing the battles for control of the towers.
If he switched to spearmen, the Lannister infantry would easily overwhelm him, and if he switched to cavalry, the Targaryen spearmen would easily overwhelm him. Everything was stacked against him.

At the time of the capture, our Lord, in a desperate measure, attempted to mount a rally. Yes, our Lord was superior to the enemy in strength.
But the enemy was reinforced by both allies and Lords of his own faction, so he won the battle, but it wasn't enough to dislodge him. Another rally would have to wait, but there wasn't enough time for it.
Therefore, in a desperate attempt, our Lord launched a solo attack, hoping to win and seize the castle.

However, there was nothing more that could be done; the battle had already been lost. The enemy's numbers were superior, not to mention the number of dragons.
Our Lord could inflict some damage, but perhaps if he'd had more time, he could have recaptured the castle. Losing this castle would immediately mark the defeat of the Stark faction.
Therefore, he would be in third place, which is practically a loss, since the three factions of Lords, the only ones still fighting, were in last place.

The battlefield looked utterly devastated; it was impossible to retake the towers, let alone the castle.
What surprised our Lord was that the Greyjoy faction managed to recapture their castle. The copies had regained strength, but even so, the troops constantly being sent by the Stark faction were insufficient to retake it.

Not to mention Castle Gloria, since the now-enemy CNMD was occupying it with a highly dangerous reinforcement and several very strong commanders. It was a perfect female synergy for cavalry; this force is very strong against enemies, and an alignment our Lord aspires to one day achieve.
After that, he would set another objective: to take the dragon lairs to bolster the attack of the troops sent to the front lines.

Our Lord would organize rallies against them because he would find not only some enemies reinforcing their positions, but all the troops from the camps reinforcing the dragon lairs.
Therefore, our Lord would organize constant rallies to capture them, but every time he took one enemy position, another was taken, and the rest of his team wouldn't be able to reinforce the lair or mount a solid attack.
Thus, our Lord would see the only way he could turn the tide of the battle was lost… because, aside from that, taking the dragon lairs would run out of time, and his faction would end up losing and finishing in third place.
With an exhausted voice and his hand on his face in frustration, he said, “By the Seven… I can't believe we've fallen so low…”

As a Result;
The Stark Faction, to which our Lord belonged, suffered a disastrous defeat for the first time this season, finishing in third place. While it's true they didn't lose points, it's practically a loss against the other Lords, or rather, against everyone.
Our Lord was quite angry about the situation because a couple of faction members had also withdrawn mid-battle and weren't fighting, which greatly complicated things for the rest of the allies.
The hope of reaching the final rank in the Arena of Honor is becoming increasingly difficult despite the fact that they are so close, but even after the defeat, they will continue fighting to achieve that coveted rank.
As a recommendation;
Always help capture castles. It's true that the fun might be lost if your main troops stay put, but by doing so, you're greatly supporting your allies in battle, and allowing the strongest troops to carry out more significant raids.
Also, always reinforce castles. Just because castles are captured doesn't mean they won't receive constant reinforcements. The siege will always be ongoing, so you need constant troop reinforcements. Perhaps not all of them, but a portion, or the support of a dragon, is beneficial to any defense.
That's all for this week!
Until next time!
