The bloody duel

I have no idea how hunters like Camie, Phantom, and Diamonds manage to maintain such a high pace of invasions. Almost every day I receive reports of new attacks made by them, often more than two invasions in a single day. That is impressive. And over the past week, I followed some of their hunts more closely to learn a bit more. This last time, Phantom was in Kingdom 304, the same kingdom where he had been zeroed a few weeks earlier by a FuK hunter in a cross attack.

Personally, I thought that would lead to an endless war between the two alliances, after all, TFI and FuK were allied alliances and that attack should not have happened. Also I know Phantom well enough to say that retaliation is part of his personality, especially after being attacked by a friendly alliance. But the result of all that drama was Phantom leaving TFI and reviving his former alliance, tFM. After that, he revisited Kingdom 304 several times to attack his targets and try to ambush CGFathom in some way. His most recent battle was against Lord Vampy, a warrior who was ready and prepared for a war against the Ghost. As soon as Phantom entered Kingdom 304, he realized it would not be an easy task. Lord Vampy was using battle gear, he also had an organized formation and a massive number of Tier 4 troops. Phantom had the advantage since his opponent was an infantry castle, but we advised him to capture a level 60 lord first and also activate a 75% army size buff to avoid any surprises.

The first battle against Lord Vampy made it clear that Phantomʼs army was far superior. In a bloody duel with millions of casualties, Phantom came out on top, defeating nearly 3.5 million soldiers while only 164 thousand of his own men were lost. Lord Vampy was well organized on defense, his formation was composed of five infantry commanders, but the bleed synergy was incomplete, and that helped Phantom achieve greater success in that clash.

Phantom attacked with his legendary female formation and more than 1.5 million cavalry troops. He is still quite vulnerable without Cersei and Cassana and with a lack of top-tier advisors, but he is still able to win tough battles against prepared opponents. Lord Vampy could have caused serious problems if he had two more red weapons, better troop organization, and Sinara in his formation. I am not certain, but he might have even captured Phantomʼs lord.

The second duel happened right after the first, and once again it was against a wall filled with Tier 4 troops. Phantom came out on top again, defeating six million enemy soldiers while his losses were under 124 thousand. I was surprised by that. We all expected a bloodbath with heavy losses on both sides, but Phantom was clearly dominating the fight.

Before attacking again, we tried to find out if CGFathom was online or not, because that would change everything. Phantom was calm, with no fear or hesitation, but if his former enemy were active, he would need to be more careful to avoid being zeroed once again in the same way, in the same kingdom. But he was not, so Phantom could continue his attacks without worrying.

This was where things changed. Lord Vampy no longer had infantry troops, which were his main strength, to support the defense of his castle, and the other troop types had very low stats, low enough to deal much less damage to Phantomʼs cavalry. Another thing I noticed was that Vampy, for the first time, had Tier 3 troops available for battle, even so, 6.5 million of them melted.

Before launching another attack, Phantom scouted Lord Vampy to see what remained in his castle. Almost the entire remaining army was made up of Tier 1 troops, with a small number of Tier 4 troops split between cavalry and spearmen. Two more attacks would be needed to finish the job, and even with the large number of meat shields, it was still worth it.

Lord Vampy was defeated, even with a full wall. More than seven million soldiers fell after the fourth attack, most of them Tier 1 troops. Vampy had over two billion power before that war, and when he logs in, he will realize he has become a small player again and will spend the next few weeks struggling to rebuild everything he lost. The sense of power and satisfaction in Phantomʼs voice sounded different, as if he were the new king of that kingdom, as if everyone should bow to him. That was a feeling I wanted to experience, and one I soon will.

After that attack, Phantomʼs army returned, but this time with the lord captured. Those attacks were an absolute success. No T5 troops were wounded, and more than 33 million merit points were earned. The key point was that CGFathom did not get involved, which was surprising. Maybe he was not online, or maybe he did not notice what was happening right next to him.

And once again, I learned that not everything is what it seems. Not every player with red battle gear and large numbers of Tier 4 troops is lethal or dangerous. Sometimes all you need is good synergy and a bit of boldness. If you made it this far, thank you very much!
