After a great fourth round of Siege of Winterfell played by WxD, there were only a few days left to recharge their batteries.
The battle against ILI required a great effort from the members of the alliance. Although their rivals started the match at a disadvantage, they proved to be a strong alliance and did not give up too easily, fighting with all their might, but it was not enough to defeat Vlodek and his companions.
Today, however, it was time for the fifth round of the season. It was a crucial round for WxD. Two more victories were needed to enter the list of the kingdom's top twelve alliances and compete in the playoffs at the end of the season, a privilege not available to everyone.
The march to the battlefield was filled with anxiety and adrenaline at the same time. Vlodek was ready to give it his all today: he understood how important it was to come out of this round with a positive result in order to reach the sixth match with another victory behind them.
“We have to be ready for anything,” he said to Azuraz during the march. “We are, and so will our allies be,” she replied optimistically.
When the members arrived on the battlefield, they could see with their own eyes who their arch-rivals would be today, already ready and lined up with war cries on the opposite side.
It was KAC

Well-known alliance, reached this stage of the competition by competing and achieving important victories in the SoW season. Led by their best members, such as Dra999, Black Bear, and Matjen, and thanks to their undoubted fighting and strategic skills, they promised to do their best to stand up to WxD in a match that saw them start as underdogs.
“Although everyone expects us to win today, our opponents will not stand idly by; they too will want to end the season on a high note. Be prepared to suffer until the very end and don't think it will be a walk in the park,” was the message from the leadership as a warning to their members, anticipating significant opposition from KAC.

The match was about to begin, Vlodek was ready to leave everything on the battlefield and was preparing for the imminent clash. The atmosphere was tense among the WxD members: the warning from the alliance leaders had been received loud and clear, they could not start thinking they would definitely win the match. The gloomy atmosphere on the battlefield, as if it were an omen, would accompany the sixty minutes of battle. The scorching summer heat was now a distant memory for the fighters of Westeros, and the cold brought by the piercing wind was making itself felt in their bones, making the only sound on the battlefield the waving banners of the two alliances: winter was coming.
The start of the battle between the two alliances immediately revealed the approach that each faction would take. While WxD's idea was to spread out evenly between Armory and HotSprings, taking advantage of their numerical superiority over their rivals, KAC's strategy was to focus more on the assault on the eastern side of the battlefield. From the early stages, Vlodek decided to try to push their rivals out of the walls of HotSprings.

In Armory, the battle saw the members of the group led by BA NA NA initially in the lead, but the resistance of DRa999 and his companions was strong!
The WxD member immediately pushed towards Greyjoy2 Outpost, forcing several rivals to separate from the group heading towards HotSprings. Confident in the strength of his Spears and backed by his allies, Vlodek wanted to make an immediate impact on the match.

After an initial phase of combat, the two most important buildings in the match, Armory and Hotsprings, were conquered by WxD! The reason why they started as favorites was immediately reflected on the battlefield, giving them a significant initial advantage, but the match was far from decided!
“Everything is going as hoped, we are fighting really well,” said Vlodek, confident and happy with his alliance's start to the match.
But in the meantime...

The rivals, gathered under the command of their leadership in Stark2 Outpost, were ready to do whatever it took to advance and regain possession of the most important buildings near dragons, from which they could aim to conquer its spoils.
“We cannot allow them to reorganize their forces so close to crucial objectives. We must lay siege to the outpost,” Vlodek told his allies, who agreed with his idea.
“Let's storm the walls” was the final decision of the leadership before launching the attack!
Upon reaching their conquest, the members of WxD found themselves greatly outnumbered: the army led by DRA999 and his companions was extremely formidable if approached in the wrong way, such as being overwhelmed numerically. But things changed when reinforcements led by BA NA NA arrived from the west side of the battlefield, quickly turning the tide in favor of Vlodek and his companions, who captured the outpost walls!

“Let's keep up the pressure and head for Greyjoy2” was the idea that came about when they saw their rivals at a strong disadvantage and with their motivation waning by the minute. The members of WxD thus headed towards it.
However, an unexpected defense was put up by the members of KAC, who arrived in large numbers to counter their rivals' dominance. The tenacity of their rivals was put to the test against today's almost devastating superiority, both in terms of their desire to take home the final result and in terms of numbers.
The few rivals who were not defeated inside the outpost were stormed by the WxD members. Vlodek's lightning-fast Spears, with their devastating strength, were a thorn in the side of their rivals from the very beginning of the match.
But it didn't end there!

Black Bear and the members of KAC didn't want to let themselves be defeated like this, so their plan was to attack the Winter Ice Dragon of in the hope of obtaining the buff it would give them along with individual rewards.
In an attempt to contain their rivals' assault, the members of WxD rushed to conquer the latter, managing to turn the situation around in a matter of minutes and achieving victory!

Meanwhile, the secound dragon was also secured by WxD!
“They are gathering again near Greyjoy2 Outpost,” announced Vlodek, who noticed movement near one of the rivals' last outposts.

“Let's lay siege to it,” was the plan of the WxD leadership. Thanks to their greater possession of buildings and early dragons loot, the score difference between the two alliances was widening by the minute, and the next move could deal the final blow to their rivals' morale.
Having reached his goal, Vlodek set about facing his rivals, who once again put up a tenacious defense. The battle was tougher than expected for him. Expecting a discouraged opponent, he encountered adversaries who were far from throwing in the towel.
However, the clashes reached a crucial point when they were joined by the remaining WxD fighters. At that point, it became almost impossible for KAC to defend their positions, and the few who did not retreat to their base were pursued and defeated!

Chased back to their base, it was practically impossible for their rivals to prevent their opponents from securing a victory that was drawing closer by the minute.
Vlodek and his teammates had no choice but to guard the exits of the KAC base and wait for the battle to end naturally. Despite their best efforts, 69 members against 85 on the battlefield was too big a difference in such an important alliance battle.
At the end of 60 minutes, the victory in the fifth round went to... WxD!

“We had a good dose of luck today,” was the initial comment from the WxD leadership at the end of the match. “Our rivals fielding such a significant difference on the battlefield gave us a considerable advantage that we were good at seizing. We have one last step left in the Siege of Winterfell season, a victory in the sixth round. See you on the battlefield,” was the conclusion in a decisive tone.
Vlodek was generally satisfied with having achieved an easy victory and having saved as much energy as possible to reach the sixth round of the season in top form. He returned to home but already had the next match in mind. Among his teammates, he was certainly the one most eager to reach the SoW Play-Offs, and his concentration was at its peak for this goal.
They only had a few days to prepare for WxD, and a tough round awaited them. Who would their rivals be in the last match of their season? We will find it out together, soon!
