Arena of Honor - Season 5, round 6

Sunday is a sacred day, a day of rest for some, while for others the countdown to office days is already looming. In this time however, Arena of honor often pops up and is played on Sundays. Here we are again, already a few rounds deep in season 5 of arena of honor. So It’s time again for the starbucksGang to come together and dominate the arena of honor. Or they get defeated. StarbucksGang hasn’t had an easy season since the arena of honor started, and this season is no different. In their last match they got defeated. The crew is praying the bad luck streak is not starting up again.

The round is different though for StarbucksGang, as they have a special guest star joining them. As one OG starbucksGang member couldn’t make it, XABAP wondered if he could join.

The starbucksGang didn’t have to think twice about it.

Our guest star is super strong, but the enemy teams aren’t weak either. Valiantherve and CrimsonMage are strong cavalry which counter our Xabap. This is gonna be a hard fight. On the other side the NW1 team with Relax. This means Relax is gonna be a real thread. 

Ohhh boy, Will this go well for the starbucksGang?

OfSimpleMind is the brains of the operation in this team, with his waifu by his side he’s unstoppable. HeavensSake would follow him literally everywhere. OfSimpleMind starts talking to the StarbucksGang. He realised that after seeing the opponents, that the crew needs a little pep talk to get motivated to try their best. 

So he gives his speech "I Have a Dream" …

You hear absolute silence in the crew. 

Until HeavensSake nods to OfSimpleMind, and starts getting pumped, which pumps up the morale of the team. 

OfSimpleMind is smiling to his waifu, she always helps him. Teamwork makes the dream work. The team leader tells the crew to get in position, this will be a crazy fight, but he believes in every single one of them. We have the strength and courage to face off against the odds and come back victorious. This is our chance to prove our worth!

So the battle starts. The first moments are the same for every team, it’s grabbing the outposts and trying to turn them into rally camps. This is needed because the team wants to get a second house. So spearmen camps are formed. The team races against the clock, every move has to be precise. OfSimpleMind follows every movement, and corrects and motivates the crew.

Quickly the starbucksGang gets a second house, however they are not alone in this. House Lannister also took their second house. It's only house Stark that didn’t get a second house. OfSimpleMind is optimistic, that means we could take the other house next to us.

After 25 minutes, house Stark is getting behind in points due to not having a second house. While House Lannister and House Targaryen are neck to neck in points.

 Every minute is another battle, some are lost, others are won. The battle of HeavensSake versus the dragon mine is won in battle, but she needed a second rally to kick Valiantherve out, so the team lost the dragon mine.

OfSimpleMind is not letting his team let go of the match that easily. He tells them, we all showed up today, are you really going to hand in the towel because it’s a bit hard? Of course not! We are starbucksGang, we are as strong as we make our coffee. And I like my Venti Blonde Roast coffee. He sips his coffee like it’s an energy drink.

The crew starts moving again, like they did at the start. Kicking altars left and right. It’s one minute before the glory castle opens up. This is gonna be a brutal fight. The winner might take home the crown. But then something unexpected happened.

The starbucksgang got a 3rd house. 

They can’t contain their happiness. But in the meantime they need to focus. OfSimpleMind has a plan. Jackdaws will be used as a sacrifice. Only to swap Xabap in his place. A solid plan, but how will it be executed?

The plan goes as planned. Jackdaws got in, the crew got their reinforcements lines up, but jackdaws lost the glory city. The anxiety could be felt in the air. Xabap had to focus, everything was riding on him. He kicks the Lannister team out of the glory city, and the starbucksGang is reinforcing. 

This is the moment of truth. The crew needs to hold to win first spot. House Stark and House Lannister are relentless. They coordinate their strikes well. Although Xabap is crazy strong, he got defeated. And kicked out the glory city.

The crew tries to obtain the glory city back, time and time again. And they manage to take it a few times. However they never seem to be able to hold on to it very long.

As time passes the arena of honor match comes to an end. The battlefield slowly becomes silent, as everyone retreats back home. The StarbucksGang did not finish first, and lost out on the crown. However they ended up in second place. OfSimpleMind leans back, looks at his waifu and grins. He says: “We didn’t win this time, but look at us. We fought like real warriors, we made them for every single altar, every single. Even though we didn’t win, our teamwork was good. Next time we will be better!”

The crew nods, agreeing with him. OfSimpleMind lifts his cup

We are the StarbucksGang, we never run out of coffee, next arena our coffee will be stronger once more.
