I was dedicating myself to staying at the top of the global merit ranking. Reaching the 4th position is something that few hunters manage to achieve, but maintaining that position is an extremely difficult task and requires a great deal of effort.

Many believe it is about ego, but it goes much deeper than that. It is about challenge, about overcoming your own fears and becoming a great and respected warrior in a world full of farmers. In addition, the friends and enemies you collect along the way make everything worthwhile. This is a very interesting way to make the game much more enjoyable.

One thing is certain: I am one of the weakest hunters among the top merit hunters in the game. The fact that all the other hunters are fully maxed accounts while I only have Daenerys and Senelle makes everything much more special, but it also comes with a very high price. In almost every invasion, I lose a considerable number of troops, which forces me to return to my kingdom after a few days to recover my troops.

I was planning to invade as many kingdoms as possible and gain as many merit points as I could in a short time to try to reach third place. But my plans changed after I suffered two ambushes during my last two invasions. First, I was caught in the crossfire in Kingdom 304, which cost me one million T5 troops. A few days later, I attacked a castle in Kingdom 142 and lost my Lord, along with more than one million T5 troops. I was completely devastated. I had fewer than 100 thousand men available, and I knew it was time to go back home. So I returned to my kingdom and spent nearly ten days resting and rebuilding everything I had lost. But now, I’m ready to come back.

I received the coordinates of two castles without protection bubbles in Kingdom 441, and I knew it was a suicidal mission. But I decided to take the risk.

Two castles without protection in Kingdom 441, protected and ruled by the VME Alliance. The targets were not part of VME, but rather alternate accounts belonging to their players. And I knew that attacking that could start a war with VME.

I knew that this was not a simple invasion. I was truly afraid that Mondry Bogdan might ambush me. I used to believe that the only way I could be defeated was by a stronger player attacking me directly, but in my last two invasions, I discovered that if someone sent a garrison to my target, I could be completely destroyed without even having a chance to react. And that created trauma in me.

It was a tense and delicate situation, and I had to rethink my strategy before attacking those targets. I had only one thought in mind: “I will attack as fast as I can, and by the time they think about doing something, it will already be too late. Both targets will already be completely defeated.”

It was not a great battle; the superiority of my army was clear. But it was a good fight for my return. Jan had no synergy on his wall, not even Base Attack. In addition, his troops were completely disorganized, which left my path open to enter his castle and destroy his army.

Jan lost more than 7.6 million troops in that impact, giving me nearly 10 million merit points. It was a harsh defeat for him, and he will need a few months to fully recover, but even so, many of his men managed to survive.

A second attack was enough to eliminate the remaining troops and capture Jan’s lord. It was a great victory with almost no losses. Now the only question is how VME will react.

I decided that I would return fully to my hunts, especially in search of greater adventures. There are several ways to provoke an alliance besides directly attacking some of their castles. One option is to attack their alternate accounts and steal all their resources, or to capture major cities. It is a great way to see how an alliance behaves. And that was exactly why I was there, even knowing that Mondry Bogdan could destroy me in the blink of an eye.

I analyzed the second target for a few seconds to see if anyone would send a garrison or not. Then I changed my location and launched a quick attack before it could be too late.

With each new attack I launched, I realized that fear was beginning to take hold of me. I had just understood the depth of the trauma that my last two invasions had created. Those seconds, while my army marched toward Rudy, made me wonder whether my soldiers would return, and above all, whether my lord would come back alive. Fortunately, VME was not reacting.

The battle against Rudy was quick, and the difference in strength between the two armies was overwhelming. On my side, only twenty-six T3 soldiers were eliminated, while Rudy lost nearly nine million troops. That was not a battle; it was a massacre. After that impact, I launched the second attack to finish the wave of attacks.

When Rudy finally activated his bubble, it was too late. All his army had been eliminated.

That invasion, which began with fear and suspense, was actually a good return to the battlefield. And all the legends and scary stories behind Mondry’s name were shattered. This invasion taught me many things, mainly that I need to be more careful in future invasions and that no alliance or player is invincible.

I know that my last two invasions created a deep fear within me, but being attacked and destroyed is a risk that every hunter faces, and it is something I cannot avoid. Even so, I need to develop new strategies to minimize the chances of that happening in the next invasions.
