“There is always a bigger fish” a wise man once said and it's true. Anyone that has played GOT WIC for a while knows this. No matter what you have, it usually does take long in an event or similar for an even stronger player, team or alliance to appear.
What does this mean for the ordinary player, though? Is this just a random quote without any meaning? No, it meant you were never safe. Even on the smallest kingdom, where you were the strongest, like LordofHunger was, for example, you still had to keep your guard up and be alert for any possible danger.
Not everyone came to that conclusion, though and those who did not would need to learn it the hard way. And so it came that Hunger, late at night, got called to help out in a hunt that had taken place on k473.
Friends of his from the 0Ch alliance centered around SK81 had invaded the kingdom some time ago and while they had gotten a lot of merit already, there was one bigger spear account that, since he knew SK81 was cavalry, was trying to bait SK into soloing him. SK was stronger on paper, but with counter and troop numbers against him, he would have no chance.
SK knew about the rule of the fish, though and so he called for help and NO REAL and Hunger were quick to join for a surprise visit.

After their target had gained fervor by taking King's Landing, NO REAL jumped and instantly started a rally. Together with Hunger and the hunters already there, they would get an almost full rally and since they were in fervor, their target could only tank.

Hunger was so free to place himself directly next to their target to enjoy the new neighborhood. He was not hiding and somewhat hoped to get soloed. There was one decent inf account on the kingdom that could make it expensive for Hunger, but the rest would just lose the lord on him.
While the first rally was forming, there seemed to be no interest by any players from dOg to fight back at the new team of invaders.
BalloonKnight decided to jump far away to force NO REAL to use rally speeds, but that was no issue for their team
Video (see in the comments)

It was a very decisive battle report given both players were online and in war gear. NO REAL clearly had the stronger commanders and stats, even with his rather unique setup, but Balloon had the troop numbers instead. That was clearly not enough and so they lost a lot of troops. Now they for sure regretted being so open and not protecting themselves at all. The bigger fish had striked.
And he would strike again. They had set a track rally on the target and so the second rally was quickly set up while Balloon still had fervor.

The second rally was similar to the first in Balloon jumping away but getting the spet up rally in his face anyway.

Before even checking the battle report, Hunger rushed his troops home, jumped closer and put up another track rally from the 0Ch shell. There would be no time for a third rally, but NO REAL had said before the rally he would maybe try to solo and to make that easier, Hunger helped with the tracking.

Then Hunger could finally look at the report and it was yet another great hit. A lot of the dead were T2, but the losses on the enemy side were still very high.

Seeing the two good reports, NO REAL decided to try and solo.

Although NO REAL won the battle, killing more than 5 million troops, it was very expensive, and all he got was t2 troops. In these numbers, they were also expensive to build, but losing t5 for t2 still felt bad.

With a second solo also just killing t2, NO REAL decided to stop soloing to save the t5 he still had. Without a scout report, they could not know how many t2 were left and with Hunger meeting people with over 100 million t2 in previous KvKs, it was not worth the risk and rebuilding bill.
Balloon bubbled shortly after with 500 million less power than he had started the day with. Hopefully he had learned now not to provoke hunters on his server without knowing who they might be friends with. It was an expensive lesson after all. Some may call SK a coward for calling for help, but SK knew that he would not be able to rally into full counter and so only did the right thing. The CS they were fighting at the side would end without further events since no one else from dOg dared to unbubble, not even the strong inf one Hunger had been a bit concerned about earlier.
0Ch had won, due to them having the bigger fish this time, but that would not always be the case, so Hunger made sure to bubble before shifting his focus away from the hunt. Merit-wise it had not been a great hunt for him, but it was not about merit; it was about a lesson and to help out a friend. Hunger had no regrets and would do it again without second thoughts. He was actually looking forward to another of those opportunities…
