So, it begins - Siege of Winterfell Season 17 Round 1 - [N0X] vs [TIS]

After more than 6 months it is time for all the warriors across Westeros to prepare for another season of the oldest RTS event, Siege of Winterfell. Things are no different for [N0X] as Siege of Winterfell is one of their favorite events and on top of that, unlike Alliance Conquest, they still have a goal to fulfill in SoW, getting too top 12 at the end of the 6 rounds and qualify to Ultimate Conquest for the first time. With almost a month before the start of the season, everyone got news about the changes that will take place on Siege of Winterfell's Season 17, with the actual Winterfell castle vanishing of the map and instead of having to escort the packages to buildings on the battlefield, now there's going to be 2 dragons spawning on left and right of the battlefield and the alliances will have to escort them to their base for bonus points and bonus buffs. The new changes combined with getting new members in the meanwhile might put [N0X] leadership into difficulty strategy wise, but they are known for being able to quickly adapt to the situation so in the weeks before the actual start of the season, they developed a completely new strategy that will hopefully help them win at least 5 rounds if not all 6. The time flew by quickly and in before they noticed, it was already begun of March and time for Scythe to register the alliance for the first round and wait for the Old Gods to decide the matchmaking.

At exactly midnight the matchmaking concluded, and alliances got the ravens with their upcoming match and as expected [N0X] got an equal opponent at least in raw power, [TIS]. As soon as they knew their opponent the alliance leadership had less than a day to find information about [TIS] and if needed tailor the strategy to fit their exact enemy. [TIS] were looking to have quite a few very strong warriors in their roster but so did [N0X] so the match was announcing to be a very disputed one. Once everything was set and done, as it was already Wednesday evening, it was time for everyone in [N0X] to head towards the Siege of Winterfell battlefield. They arrived there around 18:30 and as soon as the battlefield opened, both [N0X] and [TIS] started entering the battlefield with the [N0X] heading towards south to Greyjoy base while [TIS] head north to the Starks base. There were so many warriors from both alliances entering the battlefield, each of them bringing millions of troops, that the battlefield was trembling under their march.

At the start of the battle [TIS] was having a slight number advantage, but in Siege of Winterfell the number advantage is very important so [N0X] would have to fight twice as hard if they wanted to win this round. Shado and LadyKnight were once again assigned to the Hot Springs side and as soon as the battle opened, they rushed there together with other warriors in [N0X]. They arrived there quickly and once they did, they had a shock, [TIS] decided to send most of their forces on that side, so they were outnumbering [N0X] with more than 2 to 1.

Despite being severely outnumbered, [N0X] decided to give them a run for their money, and they engaged in the most epic battle some have seen. Soldiers were falling by millions on each side and quickly after the battle started the Hot Springs could be renamed to Red Springs from all the blood that was spilled on that side of the battlefield. Seeing [N0X] is so outnumbered on that side, the leadership decided to dispatch new forces to help there, but despite getting reinforcements, [N0X] couldn't handle the numbers that [TIS] had there and had to retreat from the Hot Springs, for now at least. On the other hand, the Armory side of the battlefield was controlled by [N0X] so the points generation was neck in neck as the dragons were about to deploy on the battlefield and had to be escorted to the base.

The dragons spawn 20 minutes into the fight and then every few minutes for the rest of the fight. They are as important as the Winterfell supplies were before so important [N0X] forces got dispatched to try and secure both of them, but unfortunately as the right side of the battlefield was under [TIS] control, [N0X] lost a lot of warriors while trying to reach the dragon and what was left wasn't enough for them to take control of the dragon so the first set of dragons got split 1-1.

As they were passing half round and the points were neck in neck, [N0X] and [TIS] were having a back-and-forth battle with troops getting killed on both sides, medics barely keeping up on healing them just so they be sent back to the battlefield and the with the buildings split almost half and half, it will be the dragons that will decide the round. While both [TIS] and [N0X] fought valiantly, [N0X] managed to organize a bit better and they sneaked some double dragons into their base and the extra points they managed to score that way basically decided the winner of the first round.

Amazing first round for [N0X] that despite being outnumbered they fought valiantly and managed to overcome that disadvantage and score the first win of the season. They took the rewards and head back to the castle with big hopes they can repeat the performance on the upcoming rounds and hopefully qualify for SoW UC. But as the round progresses the more you win the harder opponents you'll get, will [N0X] be able to withstand the upcoming threats? We'll have to wait and see. See you all on the battlefield!
