ULTIMATE CONQUEST | Season 20 Round 2 | TFI vs iDk!

Greetings, Lord and Ladies to the spectacle extraordinaire, today we will have the second round of matches in our beloved Ultimate Conquest. This match will have two titans of B League, TFI and iDk, both breezing through their first rounds in the play-offs and now one of them is set to advance to further glory and the other sent to the lower brackets. TFI is led by the cunning Joel1101, he believes his team will win the whole tournament but they face their toughest test yet. IDk is led by the powerhouse TheKitten, they managed to place second in the regular season and could be the favourites for today’s match. The stakes are always high, which of these two titans will it be today?

Joel1101 believed in his team and had one goal in mind, “this match will be tough but the true enemy is coming soon,” Joel1101 knew the real test would come from BAIZIMING and the rematch he desperately wanted will only come if they beat iDk today. Ultimate Conquest comes down to racing for structures on the map and holding them for points, most teams will swap in a stronger warrior to make it harder for their opponent to recapture the structure. Furthermore, the additional buildings you hold the more buffs you will receive and subsequently the harder it will be for the enemy to take the buildings back. “Don’t forget the lessons learnt this season, if we stack buffs, it will be difficult for them to take back the buildings,” Joel1101 wanted a clean match, always looking forward to the finals of Ultimate Conquest. 

DiEhArD was the shot caller and a trusted friend to all in TFI, “our opponents finished second in the regular season but don’t let that fool you, if we hadn’t faced BAIZIMING twice, we would have finished ahead of them,” DiEhArD saw his team as the favourites and believed the only way they could lose today is if they defeated themselves. “Once again I will be trying to occupy the Temple of the Mother, if that’s not possible, I will be solo attacking most of the match,” DiEhArD and Joel1101 had developed a near-telepathic way of communicating through quick hand signals or cryptic one-liners that seemed unintelligible to outsiders but crystal clear to them. This understanding came through countless battles and was the backbone of TFI that propelled them to the play-offs.

On the other hand, we had TheKitten, leader of iDk and the main threat on the team,” they have many weapons but we have me, I will show them what fear is,” TheKitten was undoubtedly the strongest warrior on the battlefield, yet one warrior doesn’t make a team and it will be up to iDk to show they are much more than a one warrior team. The stage was set, the tension electric, it will be the battlefield that will decide if iDk’s strength was as formidable as TheKitten’s confidence claimed or if TFI’s long held bond would snatch the victory and advance them to glory.

Finally, both teams entered the battlefield, each could see the formations of each other, “they have two or three warriors, we need to worry about, the main one being TheKitten, if we could trap him that would ease the rest of the match for us,” DiEhArD had already done his homework and had the answers to the questions lined out in his head. As the match began, all eyes would be on each teams racers, the team that won more races would undoubtedly have an advantage, “it’s important we take the first capture points, I believe this match will be close, “TheKitten oozing confidence but that confidence would be shattered as TFI won all four races and managed to swap in their rally leaders on both the Temple of the Mother and Warrior. “If we continue like this, this match won’t last long,” Joel1101 was smiling for the first time this season, all his hard work had paid off and his team was like a fine-tuned machine. “No matter, I will take things into my own hands, start rallies and let the carnage begin,” TheKitten had already sent a couple of successful soloes but iDk would need much more than that to defeat this version of TFI. 

TheKitten wasn’t panicking unlike his team mates, he knew there was still time to rectify the situation,” the Lannister Outpost has the weakest warrior, help me take it,” TheKitten had to be quick as the ports were about to open. Will iDk take the Lannister Outpost in time to be ready for the ports or has their leader made a grave mistake?

It was time for the ports to open and the racers were on their marks,” this is perfect, they are busy trying to take the Lannister Outpost, there’s no way they will be ready for the ports, this is our chance to finish this match,” Joel1101 seemed excited to trade the outpost for the ports but being too overconfident can lead to a team’s demise.

Just as the Lannister Outpost fell, both ports were taken by TFI, “the timing was bad for us, I will be soloing the Lannister Port as soon as the bubble drops, be ready to open rallies,” TheKitten was kicking himself as the lead for TFI grew exponentially. “The plan is coming into place, we are one step closer to our goal to reach the finals, this match is over,” Joel1101 was now the confident one, he could see the path it was no longer blurred for him. TheKitten and iDk is now in a race against time to close the gap with TFI, the opening of Casterly Rock could make or break iDk and their ambitions of glory.

The time had come for the main event of the match, Casterly Rock would provide enough points for iDk to mount a comeback, on the other hand it would cement TFI’s dominance. “It seems I have misjudged our opponents today, they are a good team, our rallies and soloes on Lannister Port was immediately met with reinforcements, Casterly Rock is our last chance,” TheKitten could see the writing on the wall and gave that reality to his team mates. The air was electric with anticipation both sides knew how important the next 5 seconds would be. As the dust settled and both sides knew the outcome of the race, it was TFI once again, cheering as they had completed a clean sweep of race victories. “I never doubted you guys for a second,” DiEhArD who had been quiet this match, came in to bring some comedy in the TFI camp. “Can I go fetch the beer, since this is over, “one of the warriors of TFI said, as Joel1101 gave him a stern look at first then replied, “only if you fetch me one first,” the whole camp fell into laughter. As high sprits have taken over the TFI camp on the other side iDk were silent, as if they were at a funeral, Ultimate Conquest is not for the feign hearted and it seems iDk has thrown in the towel, or have they?

It was time for iDk to hit back, no longer would they watch and react, they would be the ones to dictate their fate, “I am winning every solo against them at Lannister Port, perhaps we can try again, “TheKitten could see his side running out of resources, it was now or never. “They seem to be going all in for the Lannister Port, we can give it up if we need to,” DiEhArD could see the amount of marching speed ups his side was using to reinforce the Lannister Port which was on the opposite side of their hive. “Let’s not give it to them so easily, continue the reinforcements, they are also running low on troops, they haven’t had access to the Temple of the Mother for the entire match so far,” Joel1101 wasn’t so kind to his enemies, he wasn’t going to let his warriors take it easy. Both sides seem prepared to give it their all and the match for both sides is far from over. 

With 30 minutes remaining, one warrior from iDk took it upon himself to speak up and try something new, “we need to break their buffs, I suggest we go for the Temple of the Warrior first, we can’t brute force but we can chip away at their buffs,” TheZion was a welcome voice in the iDk camp and TheKitten gave the go ahead as he was running out of ideas. Unfortunately for iDk it was too late, the buffs gave TFI a big advantage and the wall they were hitting was far too enormous to overcome.

As the match started to wind down, the mines would become a point of contention, the final races of the match were about to begin and the TFI camp seemed certain they would win both. “You guys have given me your all today and you see the result, if we go into each match with this mind set, we will be unstoppable, now take those mines and finish this,” Joel1101 was proud of his team with an insurmountable lead, it was now up to his racers to give him the perfect match. Joel1101 would be smiling once again as both races were won by TFI but one of the swaps were intercepted by the plucky TheZion. “That swap could have been better but these things happen, he got lucky, I know that won’t happen again, “DiEhArD could see Joel1101’s reaction and tried to calm things down. TFI wouldn’t try to reclaim the Targaryen Mine as they didn’t want to use any more resources on an already won match and it gave iDk with the help of some hive points the possibility to reach a respectable 30k points. “We tried this match, they were just better on the day,” TheKitten was resigned to the reality of the match. “We will learn from this and know what to target next time, we won’t wait so long,” TheZion with his new role as second in command, learning from the lesson of the match.

The final minute ticked away, TFI had booked their place into the 3^rd round of the play-offs and one step closer to facing BAIZIMING for the re-match of the ages. “This was a perfect match, we won every race and looked comfortable from start to finish, we never gave them an opportunity to get back into the match, this is what I want from you,” Joel1101 had seen a masterclass performance from his team, they had made the alliance that came second in the regular season so effortlessly. “Here’s the beer sir,” the same warrior had kept his word and brought Joel1101 the first celebration beer and with that Joel1101 raised his hand and began the festivities.

On the other side of the battlefield iDk were disappointed with themselves but realized they were no match for TFI, “we could have faced them 100 times and lost all 100 times, they are such a well-oiled machine, they never gave us any breathing time, there was always another fire to put out,” TheKitten seemed down but not out, he would now prepare his team for the lower bracket with his new second in command TheZion and begin their redemption.

TFI is looking like the only team that can go toe to toe with ADm and BAIZIMING, most likely the finals will have both sides trying to prove to Westeros that they are the heroes you should celebrate.
