Hello once again, today I will guide you throught the mysterious Arena, a place where not money, or the fact how famous we are, matters, no! instead of that, the most important is Honor and courage, combined with alliances and knowledge!

In this Arena of Honor, I have been contacted by my friend goon, which wanted to know if I plan to play as a team, or randomly join the battlefield as solo fighter. I have decided that I will play solo, as I have then bigger chances to achieve good results. Unfortunately, when I match up with friends, our accounts are that strong, that we always fight against BaN or FFS rally leaders, which is unplayable.

Who did I meet in my team? Or maybe who did I face in the arena? What was the final outcome? Let’s see!

Arena of honor is an exciting event which allows weaker players like myself, or even weaker than me, to get really good rewards, and for example, upgrade our weapons to the RED level, which increase statistics very much. It is event in shape of a circle arround one big castle that everyone would like to conquer and keep. This castle is surrounded by catapults and towers, which objective is to stop castle owner to sit in it without any casaulties. Simple isnt it? Well not when you face Baiziming CCCP and Ur Candy it seems… which I managed to do 5 times in a row!

So as I mentioned we kept talking with goon, during the countdown to the gates of arena being opened, and honestly, we hoped to be matched as two random solo players, in the same team. Goon even decided to switch back to spears for that occasion (his previous setup) to match my setup, yet unfortunately, once we were able to enter the arena, we realized, that GoTWiC this time did not hear our prayers.

What happened then you might ask? Well unfortunately, we got matched in opposite teams! And with this attitude, laughing of the situation, we have joined the fields of honor and glory to battle against each other.

I must say I did not come with approach to attack goon, and I did not expect him to attack me. It was more likely, a last point of getting points, if we have to do it, to win the battle, then we would.

A bit about the players

Firstly, goon, you should’ve known him already, if you have followed my previous stories.

Goon is person I meet once arriving on k50, where we were meant to be in same clan, making new mid level clan full of secondary lineup players from top clans. Unfortunately the idea died quite quickly, and we were left there, following longer period goon left the kingdom and looked for happiness elsewhere, to eventually return to me on k50 so we can kill crush and destroy on kvk together.

Now looking on players who we were matched with in the game, there were couple of N0X, AiA, UIF players, but there were also those stronger ones like FuK, HD! Or FFS (WTF). It was the FFS which I was worried about the most. One of them was Ranger, fortunate for me this is a cavlary player, so I could counter him!

On the other side, in team with goon (lucky him, or maybe not?) was 1BOOM1 which as infrantry representative, so biggest nightmare for me, and had the legendary commanders!

In my team, the strongest was player from FuK, yet still, it was not matching the enemies we were facing, it looked bad for us.

Tactics

In Arena, you have two options, either you change all your camps, for purpose of trading, and then you have to focus on capturing the altars of maiden, to increase the ammount of resources you receive from trade, or, change your camps in to offensive camps, then you have to match your camps, to counter enemy camps, this way you can either go for conquering the stronghold of enemy territory, or, focus on towers and catapults.

What is the purpose of getting catapults? Well those hit the glory castle every now and then, and each hit kills the troops inside, yes you read correctly, kills, without possibility of healing it. Hold on, don’t you worry, troops don’t really die, just in the event!

We have decided, that we will go for a mixture of spear and infrantry camps, and focus on towers and catapults!

The battle has started!

Green fields of the arena have started to be stamped by soldiers of each fraction. We have felt that the time has came to match our enemies and fight for the glory and big prizes hidden for the winners behind the curtains of kings chamber. I had fear, fear which has continued to accompany me throught the early stage of the event, as I have felt the attendance of FFS members on both sides of my shoulders. It was unfortunate, that other teams, had representatives of one of the best alliances in the game, while we had to struggle combined of totally random solo players. This would not demotivate us, I would say, we felt that we need to try even harder, to achieve, what we came for. Lets go!

As soon we captured the camps, we have rushed towards the altars. Even we did not play trade camps, I felt I need to do my best to steal the altars of maiden from the enemies, so those who are actually focusing on trading, won’t be getting the best price on the market!

We were representing RED fraction, and were placed in bottom right corner, surrounded by Pink (FFS Ranger) and green which was significantly easy to beat. Next to green, was purple, where goon and FFS 1BOOM1 was. It was obvious, I have seen our chances in green fraction, where I could try to hijack some altars for our fraction.

Without hesitation I have started my conquering of green altars. One hit after another, will anyone be able to stop me I was thinking? Maybe after all we will be able to get some kind of advantage in this game?! Lets see!

My tier 5 troops were making a huge difference, considering my base spearman attack boost is 42, they were doing a perfect combination against any troop, but especially cavlary.

As I have won the first two battles, I was scouted constantly but did not take much of it, and just let it be, to see the power of enemies trying to hit me. This did not take long when 1BOOM1 has aimed me. Let’s say, it was a lesson to be learned.

At this point I knew, I must be careful, as 1BOOM1 is going to aim me, following this hit, and try to get easy points on me, where simply I could not face him, as he was too strong, and also, using counter to my troops which made him expecially stronger, against me.

I have decided to hit elsewhere, and there was UIF representative, I knew he might be strong, but damn, his army size, has surprised me, as did not know he has been reinforced! As you can see 1.447 mln cav t4 + almost milion of t5, against my silly +/- 1.2mln spears. It was very difficult, but I have shown my strenght, and managed to get out of this battle victorious.

Following this I have sent cords to my teammates, and some have reinforced me. I was expecting someone to hit me, but not a cav player, and definitly not Nox8!

Rally has hit me, and once again, I have shown him, where is his place. I won’t be an easy opponent this time. I am going all in, for the glory! Unfortunately as my troops have been highly damaged following the rally Nox8 hit me once again solo, and I could not resist.

So without hesitation, I have returned to farming green, and building a little boost advantage for my fraction. In the meantime, we have captured some towers.

And this is when a secret silent warrior has shown up and attract my attention. When I secured alter of warrior, and tried to secure altar of maiden just after it, I have been hit by… KUM member! KUM is another top alliance, which has a lot of strong players I would lose to, but not this time.

From this point of the fight, there was a little break, until the City of Glory has opened. We managed to secure catapults in the meantime, and waited for the glory city. As soon it was able to be captured, it was Pink with FFS ranger on top of it, who captured it. I knew Ranger is cavlary, so decided to go yolo solo and hit him 1v1, lets show him that I exist, even I am no longer part of WTF!

The city of glory was ours! Immediately I started sharing cords to my teammates, and kept asking for reinforcement. Help me! I shouted, but only few joined. I was expecting to be very quickly taken down, expecially there was a strong infrantry player in purple team, yet, suprisingly, I was holding really well!

The solo attacks were too weak to kick me out being reinforced even by one player. But then came the first rally…

Once again it was Nox8 who has kicked me out from the building. I knew there is no point of attacking him, being fully stacked by infrantry. It was much easier to just sit and watch, while Ranger and his cavs, will kick Nox8 out. Strategy was the key in here.

In the meantime my teammate also wanted to try his chances on city of glory, so obviously I have reinfored him, while making my own rally on the side.

I was very happy once again that I managed to capture the city of glory, after my teammate has lost it. It only proved that my account has improved very much in recent time, which made me very happy and proud of. Now it was all about keeping the city untaken. I did not care, if we will secure it or not, the task was, to not let anyone else secure it, as that was giving us clear victory!

This time I had a bit more reinforcements from my team, which made it easier to keep the castle and kill attacking rallies.

We were still in the city of glory and countdown was going towards the end, we were looking to get the protection, which would mean we will win! We have defended one by one from another enemies!

It was maybe last 3 minutes to secure the city of glory, we were already so excited about it, and almost felt the victory on our hands, and then… Purple hit us with rallies, which have killed a lot of our troops, yet we did not manage to reinforce again, as I believe, some of our players were afk.

The rivalry with goon, continued over discord messages, it was pretty fun to fight in a good atmosphere, discussing what went good and what went wrong. Really healthy exchange!

The rallies seemed to keep coming, and I could not see the end.

But like 300 spartans we were holding still, and did not let them break our defence. The timer was coming to the end, where the last 3 rallies, were incoming. What do you think, was the outcome? Did we manage to secure the City of Glory? Or were we beaten? Let’s see.

And as we were approaching to the end, when we felt that the city is ours…

We were kicked out by a very small difference. About 10 seconds from securing it. WHAT A SHAME!

It was so exciting, as it was first time I was holding city of glory in my life, and at the same time it was so annoying, to lose it in the last seconds. Next time I will definitly secure it! The mighty castle, the castle of glory, that everyone would like to capture.

Results

The battlefield has been spilled with blood of many brave men and women. A lot have not returned home to share the story with their relatives, but those who returned safely, will definitly remember, the struggle of being rallied from each side of the castle walls, with incoming enemies that wanted to earn a piece of city of glory. We have won the whole event, and finally I broke my streak of 4^th position for about 6 times in a row, because of BaN players killing me constantly. After game I also managed to speak with goon which told me as FFS 1BOOM1 has not been present for a lot of the event time, but when I looked on statistics, it did not look like he was afk, as he had a lot of points!

What can we learn from this? Keep improving your account, as you never know, when from a grey worm, you might become the leader of denearys forces, who will hold the city of glory defending from incoming rallies, of mighty warriors , that have spilled blood on many grounds before!
