The Fight For Frost
( Champion City Siege )
It was at a late hour when armies coming from the many alliances across Westeros gathered together and entered the battlefield ready to fight in The Champion City Siege. The powerful alliances that all arrived here came for one purpose, and that was to seize control over the Grand Castle belonging to their shared house faction and to bring glory and honor to their alliance. Among the alliances that came to fight in this battle was my alliance,TQL.
With their swords held high, the leaders of TQL proclaimed, “May our swords always be sharp to cut through the enemy’s forces and anything that prevents from achieving victory!! For TQL!!” they cried. More allied forces advanced next to them and joined in.This time however they would not be alone.
After winning the title of supreme conqueror a few battles back, word had spread throughout the kingdoms of how successful and valiant TQL had fought during the Champion City Siege. Prompting many warriors of Westeros to want to temporarily ally themselves with TQL. This time it was Lord Vangark and his allies that wished to join the valorous armies of TQL. They had sent a raven to the Queen requesting to unite forces with her alliance during the battle. She had accepted the offer knowing that TQL would be stronger and more united in battle with help of Vangark and his group but a new challenge had arisen for Queen Bella. Unfortunately there was no more room left in her alliance for new members. In order to meet the requirements, the queen sought a new plan. She proposed to all her members that anyone who chooses to participate in this battle is to join TQB,( one of the sister alliances of TQL) allowing them all to be able to fight together as one team.
Queen Bella had written letters to Vangark and to some of the officials of her alliance, then had her maester dispatch ravens to deliver all the letters to them. Once the deed had been done, she sighed relieved that her orders would soon take effect. Then looking from her palace towards the horizon as the sunset began taking place she thought to herself “ If only I could be there to help them all get through this fight.”
The moon shone its distant glow across the battlefield illuminating the dark surroundings with its light. A thin layer of frost covered the floor and a chilling wind brushed through the area as I stood alongside my allies waiting in the lower ranks for the battle to begin.
The queen was not able to attend this battle. Her graceful presence and well placed leadership would be missing from this battle but in her place her husband King Sotler would be leading us along with some of the other powerful warriors. The Battle Commanders of TQL, DreadEye, HankHill and Spartan who would be sending out rallies to try and gain the fortress. Vangark and his allies had also arrived to lend their strength.
I hoped that our armies would be enough to face our enemies, as we were going to need all the strength that we could muster to go against our opponents.
Cold air began to fill the battlefield and I shivered as I saw more armies from various alliances such as N3O and NBe,entering and positioning themselves on the other sides of the field. My heart thumped rapidly when I caught sight of them. I was in great fear.
They were all alliances of tremendous power holding some of the strongest warriors in all of Westeros. I wasn’t sure if we even held a chance against them but I believed in the King and his allies leadership and knew that they would do their very best to fight against their enemies and not give up til the very end.
In the center was the Castle of our house faction, the Fortress of Frost. This magnificent structure loomed over us all as it towered and rivaled most buildings that I have seen with its awe stricken beauty. The frost and ice that was embedded on this fortress glittered brightly in the night giving it the illusion that it was covered in gems. My breath was instantly taken away as I marvelled in its profound beauty.
Surrounding it was a dome that had a faint golden glow that protected this building and prevented anyone or anything from capturing it. Soon the protective dome would cease to exist allowing for all participating alliances to try and capture as the battle was going to begin within a few moments.
When the last moment before the done would vanish on the Fortress of Frost came to pass, King Sotler rode to the front of the ranks. The Battle Commanders of TQL and his armies all stood erect and readied everyone to prepare to fight for the fortress. “ Within a second the Fortress will no longer be guarded and it will be time to go to battle. We will all charge forward to try and get hold of the fortress before our adversaries can. Be ready to also lend a hand to those of us who will rally at the building and wait for our signal, and most of all defeat the enemy and their forces. Now let's claim victory for TQL, may the Seven be you all.” said the King.
Shortly afterwards the barrier faded and in an instant all the armies belonging to the warring alliances began advancing at the Fortress of Frost with full intent of capturing Frost for themselves. Some of the warriors of TQL also joined their adversaries in the assault against the Fortress.
I saw some of our allies riding as fast as their horses could carry them, tailing a very short distance behind the other alliances. It seemed with each second they were getting closer and closer to reaching our adversaries. I had full hopes that if they kept preserving they would be able to race ahead of our opponents and reach the fortress first. Then I noticed a storm beginning to brew and the winds began to blow violently across the battlefield. With the raging winds it was near impossible to gain the upper hand, I began to suddenly grow worried but kept hoping that despite all odyssey our teammates will pull through this storm.
Soon I could no longer see what was taking place as the fierce winds blew snow everywhere blocking my view. However the storm soon died down making the path now visible to see clearly. When I looked forward at the distance of the Fortress hoping to see our allies ahead of the others, I instead saw that N3O’s forces now rode ahead of all the other alliances. Somehow N3O overcame the obstacle that had impeded all the others and pushed through the storm. I then knew at that moment, our chances of gaining the Fortress at an early stage were lost.
N3O’s forces had arrived there soon after and I saw how they instantly scattered the thick layer of ice that covered the entire entrance to the gates. Within moments the gates were destroyed, the walls had been breached and the Fortress had been fully occupied by N3O.
Their banner waving high above the frozen castle as if to declare their rights to the Frost Fortress.
This forced all the other alliances to fall back to their base and try to capture it from N30.
I thought that trying to take this castle from them would be pointless and that this battle would be a lost cause, but despite failing the first time the members of my alliance were not going to give up. They most eagerly wanted to seize Frost from the enemy’s firm grip. Seconds later our rally leaders, DreadEye, Hank, and Spartan began preparing to launch a rally towards Frost Fortress.
We had all eagerly sent our armies to lend them strength in their rallies and joined their ranks. Though the rallies were soon filled, neither DreadEye or any of the others launched their rallies. After watching many of the other alliances sending their armies charging straight towards the building and assaulting it, I soon learned that they prepared their rallies in a timely fashion.
Their plan was to wait until our adversaries attacked first and after they had wiped out most of N3O’S forces that were left to defend the fortress then they would strike. I grew restless as I waited and waited for the numbers of N3O’s forces to dwindle as I kept watching our other opponents continue to attack the Fortress with all their strength but to no avail. N3O proved to be a formidable adversary as it seemed like nothing would break their hold on the Fortress of Frost. I was at my wits end with this battle as I felt that there was nothing that could be done to secure the castle and was ready to return home, until I saw that the Battle Commanders had launched their rallies. I no longer could object and had no choice but to march forward with their armies.
Once again this was not a pleasant journey. The fowl winds were at it again blasting so strongly at us that I almost feared it would have thrown our whole armies off the course of battle.
The snow that kept falling during the storms almost felt like sharp icy needles as they hit my face and neck. My hands froze and I began to develop painful blisters which eventually numbed down as I tightly gripped the reins of my horse in this freezing weather. The ride there was also unbalanced due to the layer of frost and ice that covered it making riding there very uneasy and bumpy. I almost thought this heartless journey would never end until finally our forces had arrived at our destination.
I now found myself facing the hauntingly beautiful Frost Fortress up close. This was what we had all been fighting to take hold of. Upon our arrival there was no time for me to be entranced by it. We had to hurry and try to take the building before anyone else could arrive. Everyone began to charge hurriedly towards the castle. Led by King Sotler, the assault against N3O’s last fortifications began. With one blow our armies were able to completely destroy the gates and tear down the walls without much effort allowing us to sweep inside and defeat the rest of our enemies forces.
We entered the fortress and found to my utter surprise that there were only a few soldiers left defending the Fortress. It turned out that while we were on our way to capture Frost that our enemies had already defeated most of N3O’s forces that by the time we had arrived the castle was almost empty. The warriors of TQL unsheathed their swords ready to face their terrified opponents. Not wanting to perish, the remaining soldiers of N3O surrendered their hold and fled the Fortress. Within moments N3O was finally defeated and the Fortress of Frost was without an occupier.
As this journey to the fortress had exhausted us and our soldiers and depleted us of supplies, we had no choice but to return to our base. As I rode back I was deeply concerned that the Fortress we would lost to us and that our trip here was a waste of time and resources. My worries did not go away until I returned back to our base to gain the necessary supplies and have our wounds from the journey healed when I turned my head towards the fortress and gasped. “ Our banner now stands yonder at Frost," I exclaimed. I was so happy I could not contain myself. One of Vangarks' companions had come shortly after us and captured the Fortress.
Of course it was not meant to last. Seconds later N3O had returned with reinforcements and kicked out SkyRocket’s forces from the building. This meant only one thing. That it was time for us to engage with the enemy once more. HankHill, DreadEye and the other rally leaders began to strategically prepare their rallies to then have them launched in time once the other opponents had taken down most of the reinforcements guarding the fortress. Having joined their rallies with the other members of TQL, this time I had no fears or qualms because I knew that my alliance had one of the most fearsome and courageous warriors and that either way we’d succeed one way or another.
Within moments Sotler gave the signal and our allies launched their rallies and our armies all lunged at the Fortress. Despite vicious winter storms that we had previously encountered on the way to capture Fortress Frost that had taken a toll on our morale causing me to go on the verge of abandoning this mission, those perils had become my anchor. Now moving forward neither wind nor snow would stop me or any of us from fighting in this battle.
Time had quickly gone by and before I knew it we were already there, seconds later we met the armies of N3O face to face and a few moments later we were locking blades with our opponents. Though it all happened so fast this is how I remembered it….
When we had finally made it to the Fortress I could hear the loud ringing sounds of metal as it clanged back and forward. They were followed by battle cries and shouting. I saw the stains of blood everywhere as many soldiers had fallen. The metallic smell of blood, smoke and ash filled the battlefield. Flames began breaking everywhere though the walls had been cracked and punched they still stood. We had all just walked into a bloody battlefield. I saw from a distance that our other opponents had already arrived and were trying to fight off N3O’s forces.
Sotler deduced that N3O was preoccupied and planned for us to try and break into the castle unnoticed and reclaim it. Before he could give the command that would have our soldiers demolish the walls, out of nowhere came N3O’s forces surrounding us. “ They ambushed us and we fell right into their trap!!” I thought to myself. It seemed like there was nothing we could do except to surrender as their numbers had outnumbered our own.
The only thing was that TQL was never one to give up. Our leaders led the first fight and we followed their example and fought on. At first it seemed that we were having the upper hand as we were able to defeat many of their soldiers despite us being outnumbered. Once their reinforcements had arrived that changed everything leaving us with no choice but to fall back as this battle had devastated many of our forces.
Now back at the base recovering and hoping that the next attacks that our alliance will launch will be successful, I couldn’t help but feel that someone was missing from this battle. I wondered how much better we may have fared if only Omaewa had been here fighting with us all along.
My thoughts soon became reality as minutes later I saw a rider coming towards our side of the battlefield. It was none other than Omaewa himself!!
I was pleased to see him present with us on the battlefield and was ready to greet him but then I remembered that it could be done later as now we all had a battle to attend to. With the extra strength that Omaewa would provide in this battle, I knew that we would have better chances of claiming the fortress.
The next time our allies had launched rallies at N3O’s building we were finally able to capture it.
With one of the allies from Vangark’s party taking the Fortress for us.
Our victory was short lived as our opponents had besieged like they had done before and driven us out from the building.
As the battle began progressing and with the additional help from Omaewa our alliance had been able to claim the Fortress of Frost several other times before the battle was coming to a near close. The forces of TQL were ready to make one final stand against Fortress of Frost. Solter rode up front and made his final proclamation.
“Our time in this battle is coming to an end but it’s not over yet for TQL. We will make the most out of our last moments. N3O’s forces are finally being weakened and once their numbers have significantly decreased we will act fast and defeat their remaining troops and take this castle on my command. For TQL and in the name of the Queen,to battle!!” Solter cried. Our allies sent their last rallies and launched them at the Fortress. Their rallies had arrived just in time to send the killing blow before Sotler seized this moment and marched alone with his armies and signal handedly captured Fortress Frost for his beloved wife and queen Bella.
This was our last act as N3O had retaken Fortress Frost seconds before the battle had concluded. It was finally all over N3O made it to first place and was crowned the supreme conqueror of the realm but despite not winning it didn’t end so badly for TQL. We gained second place after all our efforts had finally paid off in the end. Though this battle had nearly cost me more than half of my troops I was determined and ready to fight in the next battles for my alliance. As I stare off at the stars in the depths of the night I hope to see what the future will have in store for our alliance.
