Hello Theorycrafters!! Thank you all for tuning in! This is Harddus speaking and today we will go over a comprehensive guide for how to choose immortals and the skills for more than a single march ^^

Summary:

1️⃣🔷Immortals

2️⃣🔷Tower of Knowledge(ToK) Skills

3️⃣🔷How to build

0️⃣🔷Introduction🔷

First off, if noone ever told you to focus on a single march…😡 Well, then I'm glad I'm telling you now 😊

Especially if you are a F2P/Low spender ⇒ Focus on a single march until… You are Castle lvl 40 and you have most of the ToK skills for the main team around lvl 6. Then you can start investing on your second march safely.

It doesn't mean you CAN'T have a second march, just means you should focus your Soul Crystals into your main. But you can still have very cheap effective second marches like this:

I like doing 🌎(Earth dragon|Amanitore|Any|Gaius|Hippolyta)

⇒ Since the Earth Dragon is the most level independent dragon ( you can see his skill at lvl1 is half as good as if it were maxed, unlike all other dragons!)

⇒ In a similar way, Hippolyta's skill is almost as good if she is 0 start as she were with 7*

⇒ And then Gaius and Amanitore are sustain related blue immortals that can be easily maxed for mere 5600 Soul Crystals each

Not only extremely useful for Mysterium, I can't tell how many times this march has saved me from losing in Arena. Just leave it as the 3rd march and watch it finish any teams that bypass your main ^^

Let me know any other low investment marches you can come up with!!!

1️⃣🔷Immortals🔷

Let me paint you a picture now. You are 6 months into IK and already maxed your main march with lvl 6 ToK skills. What second march to start working on now?! Well, at least one of your marches should have a mage, so you can make use of the very high DPS mage skills.

You could take a look at the Elemental counter chart and, imagining your main is Water, you would have a hard time against Earth, so using a lightning as second could help you win against your counter. If you choose Fire as second, you would also have an easier time against Earth than Water would, but not as easy as Lightning would.

But Elemental counter only means a flat damage increase, so it isn't everything. It's better to strive for building a second march that can make great use of all the great skills your main did not use. And you can actually properly build 2 marches to be as strong as any main march, quite like as if you had 2 main marches ^^

So there are many things you can consider along with your own preferences for second marches. And for only 2 marches, you can run virtually anything and it will be viable, specially if you have all core immortals for that element. If you aren't familiar with each elements' playstyles:

💧Water — Very versatile element. It has good Damage, good Control and decent Sustain through healing but doesn't excel in any particular aspect.

Core immortals are Attila and Merlin, as they are responsible for bringing most of Water's Damage and Control.

※Damage 💙💙💙💙🖤

※Control 💙💙💙🖤🖤

※Sustain 💙💙💙🖤🖤

🔥Fire — Has the highest Damage in the game, also comes with good Control but very low Sustain. Fire usually wins battles by out damaging their opponents, leaving them with no health to counter-attack.

Core immortals are Wu and Hippolyta, since they bring most of Fire's damage and control to fire. While William nicely supports Wu.

※Damage ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

※Control ❤️❤️❤️🖤🖤

※Sustain ❤️🖤🖤🖤🖤

🍃Wind — Also an very versatile element as it's strong in both Physical and magical damage, as well as having good control, in the form of anti-heal, and good Sustain with healing. It makes extensive use of very quick normal attacks to do constant damage to their opponents.

Although Baldwin is very strong, the central piece of Wind's synergy is Qin, so he is the core immortal, along with the wind frontline.

※Damage 💚💚💚💚🖤

※Control 💚💚🖤🖤🖤

※Sustain 💚💚💚🖤🖤

⚡Lightning — This is the most disruptive march. It wins by making their opponents feel weak. It has some good damage, amazing Control and low Sustain

Core immortals are Khan and Peter, as they bring Control in the form of anti-heal/dispel and a lot of damage. Cleo also fits the synergy well, in the lack of Khan.

※Damage 💜💜💜💜🖤

※Control 💜💜💜💜🖤

※Sustain 💜💜🖤🖤🖤

🌎Earth — This march is king at Sustain! It also brings some decent damage to the battlefield and very low Control. It usually wins battles by outliving their opponents.

Core immortal is Charles. Zen helps with healing while Cleo and Alex do heavy damage, but Earth hardly plays well without Charles.

※Damage 🧡🧡🧡🖤🖤

※Control 🧡🖤🖤🖤🖤

※Sustain 🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡

You can also take into account there are some immortals who fit in any lineup!

Are you Free to Play and don't have access to an specific immortal?

Or are you a whale and want to push your march even further??

Fit one of these immortals in!!!

🌞For F2P: Gilgamesh, Cleopatra and Hippolyta

🌚For P2P: Elizabeth, Khan, Baldwin and Charles

But you do have to be careful when planning a third march since you want to avoid having 3 mages in total, since you can only properly build 3 of them with good ToK skills. It is possible to do it, but it's not recommended if you plan on using Gilgamesh or Elizabeth in any of the marches, as their best skills end up being needed for the 3rd mage.

2️⃣🔷Tower of Knowledge(ToK) Skills🔷

💗A quick summary of my ToK skills guide:

💜1- Choose 3 DPS skills for your main DPS (usually the mage).

💜2- Choose the support skills: 2-4 auras and 1-3 blessings, they can go anywhere but preferably on Defense or Support immortals.

💜3- Choose special effect skills based on possible combos. (Fighting Master, Adrenaline Rush, Assist, Duel Master...).

💜4- Use additional Damage skills for the remaining slots.

You can check it in more detail over on my Complete guide for ToK skills builds.

For multiple marches, the main march should use the best skills while the second best march uses the second best skills and so on…

But it should be noted that some immortals do better with specific skills and different elements have different weaknesses against Physical or Magical damage, so the notion of best skills is not a fixed one! And since there is a limited number of great skills, we should aim to use each of these skills the best way possible.

🔷With that in mind, let's evaluate and rate some of the core skills and skill combos next. Focusing on how each skill is best used, but you can check my complete ToK skills guide to understand why some skills are so good. Tiers go as follows:

🥇Top Tier: Usually used in the main march.

🥈Tier 2: Also great but may be more situational. Usually used in second or third marches.

🥉Tier 3: Generally weaker, usually going to third march.

💜1- First step: Main DPS immortal skills.

This is a defining point for how multiple effective marches will look like! You can only run 4 of them at the same time and there are many variation for them, so let's name their main archetypes ^^

For Mages:

🥇※Concentration Build※ Concentration + Annihilation + Nova (Great on any mage)

🥇※EB+DB(mage) build※ Energy Burst + Death Breath + Annihilation/Fighting Master (Great on Merlin, Baldwin and Himiko, while good on Cleo)

🥈※Chase Build※ Nova + Nova/Rage/Thunder + Chase (Great on Wu and Cleo, while good on Baldwin)

For Ranges(Archers):

🥇※EB+DB(Range) build※ Energy Burst + Death Breath + Rage (Great on Elizabeth and Gilgamesh)

🥈※Anger build※ Anger/Duel Master + Chaotic + Garrote (Good on any Range or Attack immortal)

💜2- Second step: Support skills.

Here we want to account for each team's strengths and weaknesses to know which skill best fits each team. In this fashion, aside from Oaken+Resist and Malice being top tier in any march, general tiers don't apply there.

⇒You can evaluate what teams need the most based on what they are weaker to:

Ω Mages/Support: Strong against Magical damage, but Weak against Physical.

Ω Defense: Strong against Physical, but Weak against Magical.

Ω Attack/Ranges: Mostly neutral.

🛡Defensive against Physical damage: ※Oaken Guard, Misleading, Afterimage

🛡Defensive against Magical damage: ※Resist

🛡General Defensive: ※Malice, Shelter, Paralysis, Energy Suppression and Defense Bless

Offensive: ※Weakness, Coercion, Sacrifice, Berserk, War Bless, Rage Bless and Speed Bless

(PS: We can see that the first and second Dragon skills work like blessings, as one time only per fight. So Wind basically has an Afterimage blessing while the Earth dragon has an Defense blessing as standard, aside from some other cool skills dragons have! Have you ever thought about that???)

💜3- Third step: Special effect skills

For Special effects:

🥇※Assist (Great to support all the DPS skills condensed on a single immortal)

🥇※Fighting Will(FW) (Well used in teams with healing)

🥇※Fighting Master(FM) (Well used on core immortals, such as Attila, Charles or even a mage)

🥇※Absolute Defense(AD) (Best used when paired with Assist)

🥇※Energy Burst(EB) (Best used when paired with Death Breath)

🥇※Adrenaline Rush(AR) (Same as FM, it is well used on core frontline immortals)

🥈※Demon Body (It's a mini-Khan! So goes well on any team without Qin or Khan)

🥈※Life Link(LL) (Well used when paired with assist or on frontline immortals, enhancing their survivability while dealing some damage as well)

🥉※Duel Master (It's a nice effect for sustain teams facing anti-heal and it can be used instead of Anger)

🥉※Silence and Root (Both are decent for Control and also deal some damage)

🥉※Absorb/Will of Angels (Could be decent if you want more Sustain)

🥉※Magical/Physical Shield (I tend to go with LL or AD over these, but these also work if you want to patch any specific immortal weaknesses)

💜4- Fourth step: Additional Damage skills

🥇※Death Breath (Goes well on any immortal. But best used when paired with Energy Burst)

🥇※Cleave (Best used on Alex or Hannibal Barca, due to the extra attack speed, and also pairs well with Energy Burst)

🥈※Chaotic and Garrote (Good on any Range or Attack immortals)

🥈※Heavenly Thunder (Best used on Alex, Barca and Baldwin, even if hard to believe lol)

🥉※Combo (Also best used on Alex and Barca)

3️⃣🔷**How to Build them?**🔷

I recommend to start by writing all immortals and skills on a word document, discord chat or your digital notebook of preference. You just need to have all skills visible to you so you don't make duplicates of them... or so you don't end up adding 3 auras on the same immortal, which actually happened a lot to me when I was starting ^^

For now let's forget all support skills(Blessings and auras) and write down only the main team, following ideas of using top tier skills.

💧Attila— Fighting Master + Adrenaline Rush + aura
💧Harald— Bless + Bless + aura
💧Yoshi— Assist + Fighting Will + aura
💧Merlin— Concentration + Annihilation + Nova

Then let's add an second team with any available Tier 1 or 2 skills.

🔥Hippo— Cleave + Bless + aura
🔥William— Life Link + Bless + aura
🔥Ashoka— Anger + Chaotic + aura
🔥Wu— Nova + Rage + Chase

If we want to add Gilga instead of Ashoka, we can do it now. Then we can also do some changes to his build.

🔥Hippo— Cleave + Bless + aura
🔥William— Life Link + Bless + aura
🌞Gilga— Energy Burst + Death Breath + aura
🔥Wu— Nova + Rage + Chase

The following stage could start right now if the plan is to only build 2 marches. But let's complicate it a bit by adding the third one now using the available Tier 1, 2 and 3 skills.

⚡Peter— Demon Body + _Bless_ + Aura
⚡Richard— _Bless + Bless_ + Aura
⚡Constance— AD + Bless
⚡YSG— Anger + Chaotic + Garrote

I Like going for more Blessings on the third march, as it's often good to built it to do as much damage to the enemy in a short amount of time when lacking many key Top Tier skills.

Starting the next stage, we can start setting auras and blessings. I usually start this by placing Malice in the main team and then thinking about what each team wants most to enhance their strengths and patch their vulnerabilities. It can end up looking like this:

💧Attila— Fighting Master + Adrenaline Rush + Malice
💧Harald— Oaken + Resist + Shelter
💧Yoshi— Assist + Fighting Will + Sacrifice
💧Merlin— Concentration + Annihilation + Nova

🔥Hippo— Cleave + War Bless + Weakness
🔥William— Life Link + Defense Bless + Paralysis
🌞Gilga— Energy Burst + Death Breath + Misleading
🔥Wu— Nova + Rage + Chase

⚡Peter— Demon Body + Energy Suppression + Coercion
⚡Richard— _Rage Bless_ + Speed Bless + Berserk
⚡Constance— Afterimage + AD
⚡YSG— Anger + Chaotic + Garrote

These can be later adjusted, but my thoughts there were:

1️⃣💧I want to give Malice, Oaken and Resist to Water, as top tier skills. And Shelter goes well with them. You can notice the team became well protected against both types of damage. Then I also really wanted Water to have Weakness, being such a strong offensive .aura.

2️⃣🔥But I opted to give it to Fire since Gilga and Wu will benefit very well from it. I wanted to give the 2 energy blessings to fire, but they don't go well along with the fire dragon in practice, so I did grant it Defense Bless and War Bless. Fire also tends to be weaker against physical damage, so I added Misleading to round it up. (Paralysis was also added as it may help you cast skills before the opponent which would be key for fire, but this part needs further testing).

3️⃣⚡The leftover blessings went to Lightning. Also, as a full physical team, Lightning will make perfect use of Coercion. Berserk could have been better used there if some attack speed related skills were used as well.

For the last phase, you can feel free to make adjustments.

The final build Plan for all 3 marches:

💧Attila— Fighting Master + Adrenaline Rush + Malice
💧Harald— Oaken + Resist + Shelter
💧Yoshi— Assist + Fighting Will + Sacrifice
💧Merlin— Concentration + Annihilation + Nova

🔥Hippo— Cleave + War Bless + Weakness
🔥William— Life Link + Defense Bless + Paralysis
🌞Gilga— Energy Burst + Death Breath + Rage
🔥Wu— Nova + Chase + Misleading

⚡Peter— Demon Body + Combo + Coercion
⚡Richard— Energy Suppression + Rage Bless + Berserk
⚡Constance— Afterimage + AD
⚡YSG— Anger + Chaotic + Garrote

You may be perplexed at how many small changes can actually make all teams better. That happens when you try giving each skill it's best possible use in your own context. And feel free to try being unique!
