Our impressive winning streak was finally broken by a disappointing result in the previous match. When I say loss, I don't mean it in the literal sense, as we finished in third place in a field of three strong teams. Still, the result was a reminder that even the strongest teams can have a bad day. Our team spirit remained high, and we were determined to learn from our mistakes instead of letting one poor result define our future performances.
Despite our confidence, there was an underlying pressure to prove that the previous result was just a temporary setback. We expected our next match to bring easier opponents, giving us a chance to bounce back and get back to winning. However, things were about to play out completely differently.
This time, GIT wouldn't be playing. His absence was a major blow to our team, as Mace was left as our only remaining strong INF player. Without GIT, we lost an important source of strength, and the responsibility of keeping us competitive fell on Mace's shoulders.

The challenge was no longer just about winning. We needed to prove that we could compete against stronger opponents even without one of our most valuable players. Mace knew his teammates would be relying on his leadership, but he also understood that even his best performance might not be enough against a team with greater individual strength.
As the countdown progressed, we all anxiously awaited the bracket. The excitement quickly vanished when we saw our opponents.
“Oh, no! Not again! How can we be so unlucky?” Mace exclaimed.
The opponents were extremely strong, and some players even outperformed both him and Urli.
House Stark was made up mostly of III players,

while the Lannisters were composed of players from some of the strongest alliances, the majority of whom were members of the TLT alliance.

The lineup didn't promise an easy match. The Lannisters possessed significant individual strength, which made them particularly dangerous in direct confrontations. Without GIT, we had to rely on teamwork, precise timing of our attacks, and seize every opportunity to score points. There was little room for error.
“It seems fate is giving me a new chance. If I want my revenge, I must defeat them,” Mace thought as the countdown to the start of the match slowly drew to a close.
He was determined to fight until the very end. However, the upcoming match would test not only his strength but also his ability to adapt to a situation where things stubbornly refused to go according to plan.
As soon as the battle started, we sent all our troops to Strongholds to get extra points. We went for the war camps, just like Starks did while the Lannisters went for the Trading Posts.
The other altars opened as well, which made the situation more complicated than we had expected. Both opposing houses went into action.

Mace knew he might not have should have played this match, but it was too late now to change anything. Instead of dwelling on that decision, he decided to make the most of the situation. Our immediate goal was Glory, which offered us a chance to score valuable points and mitigate our disadvantage.
Before Glory opened, it was Dragonpit's turn.
Urli managed to capture one of his objectives, giving us an important opportunity to score points.

The opponents immediately launched attacks, but we defended firmly and held onto the points, however, this indicated that the fight would not be easy until the end.

Dragonpit gave us a reason to keep fighting. Although we couldn't outmatch our opponents everywhere, we were still able to defend important positions and capitalize on the opportunities that presented themselves.

Soon, we focused all our attention on Glory.
Glory was about to open at any moment, and Mace and Urli were ready to strike first.
“Get ready to send in the spearmen or the infantry as soon as possible. The opponents will surely attack immediately!”
However, Mace underestimated the speed of some of the opponents. As soon as Glory opened, Kebab was already inside.
“He's faster than I thought...” Mace muttered.
“Alright, no matter. Quick, let's try a two-pronged attack!”
Mace countered by trying to take control of the target, but he failed to capture Glory.
It was the first serious blow to our plans. Mace prepared to vie for this objective, but Kebab's superior speed allowed him to seize the initiative before we could execute our plan. The failed attack showed just how difficult it would be to make up for the difference in individual strength. We didn't have a strong cavalryman, and that was our problem.
“This is unbelievable. Let's do it again, no giving up! It's our only choice!” Mace said to his teammates.
On the second attempt, Mace attacked second, while Urli sent the spearmen first.
The result, however, remained the same. Kebab was simply much stronger.

The second failure was particularly frustrating because we had already tried to adjust our strategy, but even that wasn't enough. Mace had to accept that sheer determination alone wouldn't guarantee victory. First place was slipping further and further away, and the opportunities to make up for lost points were becoming increasingly rare.
Still, the team kept fighting. We couldn't let the disappointment discourage us, because second place was still within reach.
Mace now had to make an important decision: whether to continue competing directly with stronger opponents or to redirect his attention to objectives where the team had a better chance of success.
The situation improved when we captured both neighboring clans.
These successes brought us a significant number of points and put us back in second place heading into the end of the match.
After the frustrations on Glory, this was the turnaround we desperately needed. The points we earned restored some of our confidence and showed that we weren't out of the running yet. For the first time in a long time, second place seemed attainable again.
“THIS IS GOING TO BE A CRAZY FINISH!” Mace thought.
Still, a better position didn't mean we were safe. The Lannisters still posed a serious threat, and the remaining objectives could decide the final outcome.
One of them stood out in particular, Mine Shaft.
Mine Shaft could decide the outcome of the match. Mace understood its importance and ordered his teammates to try to capture as many objectives as possible.
“WE HAVE TO CAPTURE THE MINE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE, AND THEN TRY TO PREVENT THE LANNISTERS FROM CAPTURING IT! EVERYONE, SEND TROOPS TO THE MINE! FORGET THE OTHER BUILDINGS FOR NOW!” Mace ordered.
We managed to capture four objectives, but the Lannisters captured six.
That difference was concerning. Despite our great effort, the Lannisters had once again scored more points. Mace knew the score wasn't in our favor, but abandoning Mine Shaft would only make the situation worse. We had to hold onto what we had already captured and look for a new opportunity to close the gap.
Mace hoped that the House Stark players would attack the Lannisters, thus easing our situation. Instead, the attacks were directed at us.

Mace's second army lost the Mine Shaft, but Mace and Urli managed to hold two out of four.

“AS SOON AS WE'RE DONE WITH MINE, START SENDING ATTACKS ON THE LANNISTERS! WE CAN'T LET THEM DEFEAT US!”
The situation was becoming more and more desperate. We managed to stay competitive thanks to teamwork and objective control, but the Lannisters were gradually closing the gap. Mace had to make every remaining move count. There was no more time to wait for the perfect opportunity, he had to take the initiative himself.
As the match drew to a close, the Lannisters began to pull ahead.
Mace couldn't understand how they were managing it when we still held two clans.
“IT'S IMPOSSIBLE FOR THEM TO BE BEATING US WITH JUST THE HELP OF TRADING POSTS!”
His frustration was understandable. We had fought to hold our position, reclaimed valuable points by capturing neighboring clans, and continued to fight for the Mine Shaft despite the unfavorable circumstances. Yet, the score said otherwise. The Lannisters were gaining the upper hand, and the time we had left to turn the tide was rapidly running out.
Mace knew that defending our current positions would no longer be enough. If we wanted to change the outcome, we had to press the Lannisters directly.

One option remained: attack the Maidens and try to disrupt the opponent's control before the match concluded. It was a risky decision, but a defensive game no longer promised a favorable outcome. Mace had to commit to the attack and trust that his remaining forces would be enough to make a difference.

However, the Lannisters managed to knock him out every time.
Each failed attempt brought us closer to the end without the desired result.
This was the decisive moment of the entire match. Mace had carried a large part of the responsibility from the start, fighting without GIT and trying to keep the team competitive against stronger opponents. He suffered setbacks on Glory, restored hope by conquering neighboring clans, and invested precious resources in the Mine Shaft.
The pressure was at a boiling point. Time for a comeback was running out, and every failed attack diminished our chances. Mace kept trying to take the Maiden from the Lannisters to chip away at their points, but the Lannisters were too strong to overcome.

His determination kept us in the fight, but even it couldn't fully compensate for the advantage of a stronger opponent and the dwindling time for a comeback.
In the end, the Lannisters managed to overtake us.

Our final push at Maiden failed to turn the tide, and with it went our last realistic chance to stop the Lannisters from finishing ahead of us. The match wasn't decided by a single attack, but by a whole series of failed attempts, missed opportunities, and the Lannisters' ability to hold on to their lead when it mattered most.
The final result was disappointing, but this match showed us much more than the difference in strength between the teams. It showed how difficult it is to compensate for the absence of one of the key players and how quickly a promising position can be lost when the opponent controls the decisive moments.
Mace entered the match hoping to improve on the previous result and prove he could lead the team against extremely strong opponents. Although he failed to win the Maidens and prevent Lannister from overtaking us, he kept fighting until the very end.
The most important lesson was that conquering individual goals isn't always enough. We scored valuable points on Dragonpit and through neighboring clans, but problems on Glory and Mine Shaft left us with too big of a deficit in the end. Against such strong opponents, every decision, every attack, and every missed opportunity can decide the final outcome.
For Mace, this was a bitter experience, but not a complete loss. His persistence kept the team in the fight longer than could be expected under the circumstances, and the match showed what we need to improve in the future. Next time we'll have to coordinate our attacks better, use the forces at our disposal more wisely, and be prepared for the possibility that our opponents will outmatch us in direct confrontations.
However, one defeat does not erase our previous successes nor does it determine what we can achieve in the future. If this match has taught us anything, it is that next time we must come back stronger, wiser, and better prepared for the new challenge.
