A Deadly Sweet Smile

Dear friends, it’s time for this week’s battle report. Have any of you ever spotted this sweet and charming young lady in the game? If not, then congratulations! And if you have, she’s probably the most incongruous and out-of-place character you’ve ever come across! She is Myrcella Baratheon, the bringer of the Sevens’ Favor.

Who would have thought that behind this sweet smile, so many heroic souls had been lost?

The only condition for triggering ‘Sevens’ Favor’ is when a player’s main city comes under attack and suffers severe damage. Now you’ll understand why such a sweet and charming young lady is someone most people would rather not encounter. And Amai, who thought I was a hunter, only recently spent a ‘pleasant’ weekend with Myrcella Baratheon due to my own foolishness…

The Illusion of Absolute Safety

This Sunday marks the monthly Champion City Siege. Early on Saturday morning, Amai hurried to check the battlefield I’d been matched to, This round, Amai was assigned to the ‘Siege of Adamant Fortress’ battlefield. For Amai, this match-up posed a major problem, as the battle at the ‘Siege of Adamant Fortress’ was scheduled to begin at 18:00 server time—which, in Amai’s time zone, was the middle of the night! Seeing the timing of the Champion City Siege event, Amai was indeed a bit hesitant. I might have to give this event a miss, or ask a close friend to log in on my behalf to claim the rewards, but there’s no need to get too worked up just yet – I still have at least a day to think it over!

You might be wondering why the Champion City Siege has caused me such a major setback. It was only in the very earliest versions of the CCS event that players’ main castles were attacked—and that was at least four or five years ago. In the current version of Champion City Siege, players who enter the event are essentially completely safe; unless you actively participate in a rally to attack or defend Champion City, you won’t suffer any losses at all.

The reason Amai came under attack was mainly because I had misunderstood the CCS event rules. Amai had always believed that once the CCS event match-ups were announced, migration between kingdoms would be locked, and that migration would only be permitted once all CCS battles had concluded. This disastrous incident was triggered by Amai’s own misunderstanding of the event rules.

I really should have read the rules carefully. In fact, lots of friends told me that, before I got a beating, they’d also thought cross-server would be restricted!

Although the kingdom K479, to which Amai belongs, cannot be said to have been completely conquered by me, and DRAGONS 666, the King of the LMS Alliance, is in fact no less formidable than I am; however, I was well aware that if he were to launch an effective attack against me, his only chance would be either whilst I was without a Lord, or by mounting a substantial rally whilst I was completely out of battle status. In other words, whilst I believed the migration status to be locked, as long as I remained at my computer, I was, in theory, extremely safe. In fact, when my city walls were breached this time, it wasn’t because I’d accidentally lost my protective shield, nor was I simply away from my computer; my only problem was that I’d become far too overconfident…

On the one hand, I was considering whether to grab a few low-level accounts to carry out HoF during this cross-server lock-in period; on the other hand, I was thinking that if anyone from LMS couldn’t keep their cool and came to scout or attack, I’d hit the jackpot. But did you notice? My own false sense of security, my hope of having time to run HoF, and my expectation that LMS would launch an attack on me—all of these were based on the assumption that cross-server migration would be locked down; sadly, all of this stemmed from Amai’s misunderstanding of the event rules.

CCS does indeed have a cross-server migration lock-in period; however, from the start of the server update on Saturday until the day of the server update on Sunday, players can still carry out cross-server migration even if matching has already been completed. The actual migration lock-in period only applies during the CCS event on Sunday. In other words, Amai’s illusion of safety simply did not exist in the eyes of those top-tier hunters.

A Defence That Crumbled In An Instant

At that very moment, Amai was sitting right in front of his computer, chatting happily with others! Suddenly, a red warning light flashed on my screen. I felt a rush of excitement, eager to see which LMS member dared to launch a solo attack on me. My first thought was that it must be some low-level alt with no troops, simply looking to disrupt my weekend evening. However, completely against my expectations, Myrcella Baratheon stood before me with a smile…

To me, Elia is my arch-enemy – the very worst sort.

My head was pounding, but I hadn’t lost my wits. In a flash, I activated my bubble to ward off a second wave of attacks.

I activated my protective shield within ten seconds of being struck, and Elia, who was presumably not too pleased with this turn of events, proceeded to execute my lord immediately afterwards.

With the pounding in my head still not subsiding, I frantically racked my brains: who on K479 could possibly possess the ability to inflict such heavy damage on me? I opened the battle report and saw it was EliaMartell from the NBe Alliance. EliaMartell commanded the second-generation Female Cavalry Front led by Brienne—a natural nemesis for Amai. As you can see from the battle report, my fully fortified city walls were breached in a single strike; that one attack alone cost me nearly 700 million in combat strength.

My soldiers were simply trampled underfoot—it was truly humiliating.

But don’t think EliaMartell took advantage of me, at the time, my best line-up was already deployed along Amai’s walls, and I was absolutely certain I was in combat mode. You can even see that I’d equipped all the pets I owned from the newly launched pet system, yet the gulf between EliaMartell and me was simply that vast. My Lord was captured during the very first assault, and EliaMartell even had him beheaded on the spot!

It was a blessing in disguise that I actually managed to retain a significant portion of my forces; as for the rest, I can gradually rebuild them. In truth, soldiers are, relatively speaking, a minor asset to me.

Although I was soundly beaten, I did manage to have a bit of luck in the end! Firstly, I was right there at my computer and immediately activated my protective shield, saving my remaining soldiers; secondly, my hospital is huge enough to allow me to keep a portion of my T5 soldiers; and finally, my Revival Altar was practically completely idle – there were nearly five million soldiers stored within it, meaning I could use the altar’s energy to heal them back to full health without any trouble, all I need is time!

Beyond Victory and Defeat

Once I’d finally figured out what was going on, I sent a message to EliaMartell, laughing as I told her she was really something! EliaMartell replied kindly, saying he’d simply come to earn military merit and meant no harm! Come on, just look at my merit – how could I not understand? I’m actually doing exactly the same thing as you!

I’m not going to complain about anything—I love hunting myself—it’s just that this time it was my turn to make a fool of myself. lol

And my favourite part is: not a single soul in the HHH Alliance expressed any sympathy or pity for me; basically, everyone was laughing at me!

‘It’s finally your turn, isn’t it!’

‘Spend a bit more and become a spearman, and go and get your revenge!’

‘You daft oaf, ha ha ha!’

I absolutely love all of this. Of course, I don’t enjoy watching my troops get wiped out so easily—they deserve a more meaningful death—but I just love this feeling of simply enjoying the game, rather than fretting over wins and losses!

My dear friends, let’s return to the question we started with! Have you ever seen Myrcella Baratheon appear on your screen? How did you feel in that moment? Or have you always kept yourself completely under wraps? Let’s have a chat about it!
