SoW QGD vs FBw

“Only two more to go… only two more” said the Stark commander, followed with a huge sigh. He goes back to the training grounds to prepare the troops for one of the last defenses Winterfell will have to put against the Greyjoy invasions. So far, no matter who they chose, they have always been successful in protecting their homeland but nothing is sure and defeat is always looming. The alliance they called upon this time is Queensguard (QGD) who helped them win the week before. The Greyjoys, on the other hand, chose FleaBottomWarriors (FBw) to represent them and lead their assault upon the heart of the North. 

It’s 28 for QGD against 5 for FBw as the timer reaches zero, huge number advantage for QGD !

Armory goes to QGD after LordLionel and Royalpage went straight to it allowing them to arrive first. Arriving a lot later, Igris Red2 captures Hot Spring which was empty so no trouble there. As for the outposts, both Stark ones are captured by QGD and the second Greyjoy one is captured by 6 FBw players. The first Greyjoy outpost is weirdly left alone for now, FBw have instead chosen to go for the Greyjoy stronghold 2 immediately. 

The strongholds open up and unsurprisingly, the second Greyjoy one is taken by FBw who had quite a lot of troops there. Both Stark ones are captured by QGD. As for the first Greyjoy stronghold, it was left alone exactly like the outpost which allowed for yolo3 to send one lone group to capture it for QGD. 

And we have our first fight ! GabrielleG moved up from the second stronghold to attack IgrisRed2 at Hot Spring. The latter is quickly put in a difficult place, losing almost two out of three troops, all the while GRBT Grandad joins his friend in the attack ! If QGD don’t send reinforcements, Hot Spring will fall, that is sure. And IgrisRed2 is dead !! Hot Spring is now Greyjoy territory. It may have seem weird not to try and capture the left side of the battlefield but if it allows them to focus on one side and beat QGD there, they might secure lots of points !

Another fight has started at Greyjoy outpost 1 ! PavlB trying to capture it probably brought Fbw’s attention, two soldiers are fighting him while the rest of QGD is focused on Winterfell and securing the resources. 

A focus which pays off as LordLionel takes the resources and brings them home easily. South of that, Xyrox is joining PavlB at Greyjoy outpost 1, aiding him in finishing his fight and securing the position, that’s at least one person who got the needed reinforcements !

Oh but wait ! PavlB last troop needed healing and left, leaving Xyrox alone at the outpost and he is now being attacked front and back by Dragoneve of FBw ! Thankfully for him, reinforcements were coming from the start and his last troop as well as Igris Red2 arrived. They completely overturn the situation and overwhelm the FBI soldier. 

But with all those things going on, QGD are spread out, and they didn’t notice GabrielleG capturing the Stark stronghold 2. He came from Hot Spring, the one building they haven’t been back to after losing it, yet. At the same time, GRBT Grandad is attacking the Stark outpost 2 and the defender is barely reacting. FBw are forcing QGD into 1v1 as much as they can in order to render the number advantage useless. 

Winterfell’s resources appear again but this time, there are way fewer QGD troops to get them. Anyways, Gray bear takes them and goes towards a QGD controlled building. The other troops that helped protect LordLionel the first time are now focused on getting back the buildings they lost like the second Stark outpost. Even though he was followed, gray bear was able to bring the resources safely at Stark stronghold 1, lots of points and much needed support for QGD. 

But Grandad didn’t leave after gray bear successfully brought back the resources to the stronghold, he stayed and started fighting. It is an 8 against 3 in favor of QGD though, so the defenders feel rather safe. Still only focusing on the right side of the map, GabrielleG, as always, captures the Greyjoy stronghold 2 again for FBw before heading down to the outpost which was just captured by PavlB. North of that, Igris Red2 captured the Stark stronghold 2 back for QGD. One problem with FBw’s way is that they cannot hold buildings. Sure, they capture a lot but if they actually stay to try and keep one building, QGD can just regroup and take it back by force. So, they are left with the option of going around capturing and fleeing right after, only few times actually defending their own buildings. 

And as if to prove what I just said, Grandad who was fighting and rather winning at Stark stronghold 1 against 8 QGD troops is now facing 11 troops after reinforcements arrived. No matter how many he might kill, more will just come because he is alone at the stronghold. And so he left. One last resources brought by LordLionel easily to QGD territory and this is the end of today’s fight !

QGD come out with the win ! Another successful defense for the Starks for are clearly quite pleased with their choices of representatives this season as they have yet to fail. For the Greyjoys on the other hand, this is turning out to be a disaster of a campaign, 5 battles, 5 losses, only one more to at least leave with something out of this war. QGD had more people and capitalized on that, finishing with over 90K points, there isn’t much to do better. FBw on the other side have the opposite problem, there’s not enough people and even though they tried to capture and flee which usually works to get some points and sometimes force the opponent into 1v1s, they forced only on one side of the map which inevitably failed. A good week for the Starks !
