💠Psionic Vortex

Psionic Vortex is a Legendary passive skill that increases the wielder’s Magical Damage whenever their HP decreases by 10% or an ultimate skill is cast. Each activation increases Magical Damage by 30% and can stack up to five times, providing a maximum 150% Magical Damage increase when fully stacked. The skill can only be equipped on Magical Damage casters.

The best candidates to equip the skill are Loki and Horus. Both can benefit from repeatedly building stacks throughout longer battles, but Horus is particularly well suited because of his high Energy Regeneration and greater survivability. Since Psionic Vortex gains value from both ultimate casts and HP loss, an Immortal who can survive sustained damage while continuing to cast has more opportunities to reach and maintain the skill’s maximum damage bonus.

💠Magical Damage Increase

Because Psionic Vortex takes time to ramp up and reach its full potential, the best candidates are Immortals that regularly survive in longer battles. Even Loki, who has higher Energy Regeneration than most existing mages aside from Horus, typically casts his ultimate only four to six times in battles lasting around 50 seconds. This means Psionic Vortex may not reach maximum stacks through ultimate casts alone unless Loki also loses enough HP to trigger additional stacks.

In shorter battles of around 30 seconds, Loki averages only about two ultimate casts. While Psionic Vortex can still provide a meaningful Magical Damage increase, much of the battle may already be over before enough stacks accumulate for the skill to generate its maximum value. This makes battle duration one of the most important factors when determining whether Psionic Vortex is actually better than a skill that provides more immediate utility.

For that reason, Psionic Vortex works best in durable compositions that can intentionally extend fights. Double-tank frontlines, healing supports, and defensive skills that improve survivability give the equipped Immortal more time to lose HP safely, cast additional ultimates, and build Psionic Vortex toward its maximum 150% bonus.

💠Damage Difference

In battles lasting around 50 seconds, where Loki typically casts his ultimate four to five times, Psionic Vortex can produce a significant increase in damage when it performs well. In one test, Loki dealt approximately 41 million damage with Psionic Vortex compared to just 24.5 million without it. That represents roughly a 67% increase in total damage in that particular battle.

However, the results were not completely consistent. Loki sometimes dealt more damage with Fighting Master because its crowd-control immunity prevented him from being stunned or otherwise disabled. This highlights an important limitation of Psionic Vortex: increasing theoretical damage does not necessarily translate into more actual damage if the Immortal cannot consistently cast or remains under crowd control.

In shorter battles where Loki cast his ultimate fewer times, the difference from Psionic Vortex was much less noticeable because the skill had insufficient time to ramp up. Conversely, in longer battles, Psionic Vortex became much more effective, allowing Loki to deal considerably more damage across a similar number of ultimate casts compared to when the skill was not equipped.

The testing suggests that Psionic Vortex should not be evaluated purely by its maximum 150% bonus. Its real value depends on how quickly the equipped Immortal can generate stacks and how long the battle lasts. A skill with a lower theoretical ceiling can still outperform it when immediate damage, crowd-control resistance, or other utility is more important.

💠Verdict

Verdict: Psionic Vortex is an excellent Legendary skill, but its value depends heavily on team composition, battle duration, and the Immortal using it. It performs best in teams designed to extend battles or generate stacks quickly, particularly with a double-tank frontline and healing support that can keep the damage dealer alive long enough for the bonus to ramp up.

For players who regularly use Horus or Loki in durable compositions, Psionic Vortex should be a high-priority purchase because those Immortals can take advantage of its exceptionally high damage ceiling. Horus is arguably the strongest candidate because his Energy Regeneration and survivability give him multiple ways to generate stacks while remaining alive long enough to benefit from them.

For players whose teams usually finish battles quickly, or who rely on immediate burst damage, Psionic Vortex should be a lower priority. In those situations, much of its potential is wasted because the battle can end before enough stacks accumulate. The skill is therefore extremely powerful in the right composition, but it is not universally necessary for every Magical Damage team.
