1. Introduction: Pirate Festival Returns

The Pirate Festival 2026 has arrived in Norheim, running from September 14 to September 24, and at first glance, experienced players will recognize most of what is waiting for them.

Lucky Koi, Fishing Contest, Dazzling Wish, Glorious Challenge and Pinnacle Trial are all back, alongside the usual mix of festival currencies, free progression and optional spending. If you played through Harvest Festival last month, much of Pirate Festival will feel immediately familiar.

But there are a few important reasons to pay attention this time.

The biggest is Horus. The new Chaos Immortal introduced with Patch 2.9.9 has now entered the Grail Shop, giving players their first opportunity to start building him through the seasonal event. Alexander and Athena's Summer Passion outfits also return, while the new Temple of Edfu pass introduces another castle skin.

Pirate Festival also brings something genuinely new: Alchemical Secrets. Instead of another variation of a familiar seasonal mini-game, we finally have a new crystal-sorting puzzle. More importantly, completing it provides additional Magic Fishing Nets, connecting it directly to Fishing Contest progression.

So rather than going through every tab and repeating mechanics we've already covered during previous festivals, we'll focus on what has changed, what is worth your attention, and where your resources may be best spent.

Maël’s Opinion: Pirate Festival doesn't reinvent the seasonal-event formula, and honestly, it doesn't need to. Most of the structure already works. What matters is what has been added around it. A completely new mini-game, another source of free Fishing Nets, the return of Alexander and Athena progression, and especially Horus entering the Grail Shop give us enough new things to look at without pretending everything else has changed.

2. Temple of Edfu: Pass, Alexander & the New Castle Skin

Temple of Edfu is the main progression pass for Pirate Festival, following the familiar 30-level structure with both free and premium rewards.

Progress comes naturally through the usual festival activities, so there is little reason to rush it. Complete the available daily tasks, collect the rewards as they unlock, and let the pass contribute resources toward the other parts of Pirate Festival.

The premium track is where things become more interesting. Across the pass, players can collect 120 Tokens of Light, 5,000 Magic Fishing Nets, 60 Alexander the Great, Summer Passion outfit fragments and 60 fragments for the Temple of Edfu Castle Skin.

The return of Alexander's Summer Passion outfit is particularly useful for players who started developing it during Midsummer or Harvest. Pirate Festival therefore continues that progression rather than introducing another Immortal outfit and spreading investment even further.

The other headline reward is the Temple of Edfu Castle Skin, providing:

• +5% Physical Attack Bonus to Immortals
• +5% Magical Attack Bonus to Immortals
• +5% Building Upgrade Speed

Those are useful permanent bonuses, although the combat side deserves some perspective. Unlike skins providing Troop Attack, Temple of Edfu increases the Physical and Magical Attack of Immortals directly. The source article therefore considers stronger Troop Attack skins such as Abyssal more impactful because of how their bonuses scale with troop count.

Maël’s Opinion: For me, the most interesting part of Temple of Edfu isn't necessarily the new castle skin.

Alexander progression continues. Players who have already invested in Summer Passion get another opportunity to move the outfit forward instead of being pushed toward an entirely new project every festival.

The Temple of Edfu skin is still a nice addition, particularly if you don't already own stronger combat skins. But for developed accounts, I wouldn't automatically consider it an upgrade simply because it is new.

3. Alchemical Secrets: A Completely New Mini-Game

Alchemical Secrets is easily the freshest part of Pirate Festival.

For once, this isn't simply an existing seasonal activity with a different theme. Infinity Kingdom introduces a new crystal-sorting puzzle, where differently coloured magical stones must be reorganized correctly to complete each stage.

The concept starts simple, but later stages require more planning. A bad move early in the puzzle can restrict your options and make the remaining crystals much harder or impossible to arrange efficiently.

New groups of stages unlock progressively throughout the festival, while completed levels can also be raided. More importantly, Alchemical Secrets rewards Magic Fishing Nets, meaning the new mini-game feeds directly into Fishing Contest.

That connection matters. Just like Fruit Frenzy during Harvest Festival, every batch of free Nets earned here reduces what you may eventually need to obtain elsewhere if you're pushing Fishing Contest or continuing Alexander's Summer Passion progression.

We won't turn this section into a puzzle walkthrough. Alchemical Secrets deserves its own guide, especially once all stages are available and their solutions can be mapped properly.

Maël’s Opinion: This is probably the part of Pirate Festival I appreciate the most simply because it's actually new.

Seasonal events have become increasingly familiar, so even a relatively simple puzzle adds some welcome variety. Better still, it isn't disconnected side content: the Fishing Nets make completing Alchemical Secrets relevant to the wider festival.

Hopefully this is something we see more often going forward: keep the seasonal structure that works, but introduce one genuinely new activity each time rather than only changing rewards and themes.

4. Fishing Contest: Alexander Progression Continues

Fishing Contest returns almost unchanged from Harvest Festival, with the same mechanics and pricing. Players spend Magic Fishing Nets to catch fish of different qualities, accumulating points toward catch milestones, collections and ranking rewards.

Because the system itself hasn't changed, there is little reason to repeat the full Fishing Contest guide here. The more important point is how Pirate Festival feeds into it.

Magic Fishing Nets are available from Temple of Edfu, Alchemical Secrets, Glorious Challenge, Pinnacle Trial and other festival activities. That makes patience important. Collect the free Nets available across the event before deciding whether you actually need to purchase more.

For players still developing Alexander's Summer Passion outfit, Fishing Contest remains particularly relevant. Combined with the 60 fragments available through Temple of Edfu, Pirate Festival gives Alexander users another opportunity to continue a progression path that has now stretched across several seasonal events.

The rankings are a different story. They can become extremely competitive, while the guaranteed catch and milestone rewards provide a much more predictable return. Unless ranking itself is your objective, there is little reason to get dragged into an expensive competition simply because you have already invested some Nets.

Maël’s Opinion: My approach hasn't changed since Harvest: collect first, spend later.

Pirate Festival gives us several sources of free Fishing Nets, including the new Alchemical Secrets. Use them before deciding how much further you want to go.

If you're actively building Alexander's outfit, buying additional Nets can still make sense I'm doing it myself. But I would spend toward a specific progression milestone, not simply keep fishing because the next ranking position looks tempting.

5. Dazzling Wish: Athena Returns, But Should You Spend Here?

Dazzling Wish returns with Tokens of Light as its currency, alongside the familiar combination of wheel rewards, milestones and rankings.

The main character-specific reward remains Athena – Summer Passion Outfit Fragments, giving players who started her outfit during previous festivals another opportunity to continue that progression.

As always, collect every free Tokens of Light available throughout Pirate Festival before deciding whether you need more. Lucky Koi provides one daily, while additional Tokens are available through Temple of Edfu and other festival activities.

But there is now an important distinction to make.

If Athena's outfit is your target, Dazzling Wish remains the relevant place to spend your Tokens and potentially push further.

If your objective is primarily Eternal Grails, however, the situation has changed since the introduction of the dedicated Grail Wheel during Harvest Festival.

And that distinction becomes even more important during Pirate Festival, because Eternal Grails now have a very tempting new destination.

Horus.

Maël’s Opinion: Dazzling Wish has become much more specialized than it used to be.

If you're building Athena – Summer Passion, there is an obvious reason to be here. If you aren't, I wouldn't chase Dazzling Wish simply because you need Eternal Grails.

The introduction of the Grail Wheel gives us a better dedicated route for that. And with Horus now sitting in the Grail Shop, knowing exactly why you're spending your Tokens Athena progression or general Grail acquisition matters more than ever.

6. Grail Shop: Horus Arrives

This is where Pirate Festival becomes particularly interesting.

The Grail Shop once again offers discounted Chaos progression, including the extremely attractive 250-Grail Chaos Immortal Selection Chest and Chaos Artifact Selection options. For players gradually developing Immortals such as Apollo, Medusa, Tengu or older Chaos releases, these remain some of the most efficient opportunities to spend Eternal Grails.

But Pirate Festival adds a much bigger name to the shop:

Horus.

The new Chaos back-row Magical Immortal introduced with Patch 2.9.9 can now be acquired through Eternal Grails, making Pirate Festival his first real progression opportunity.

Horus is particularly interesting because Royal Sarcophagus gives him an unusual answer to burst damage. At maximum level, no individual instance of damage can exceed 5% of his Max HP. His active also deals Magical Damage to all enemies and can apply Punishment, increasing the damage they receive.

There is potentially much more to Horus than that. His unusually high Energy Regen and possible interaction with Psionic Vortex open some very interesting build ideas that we have already explored separately. I won't repeat the full theorycrafting here this is a Pirate Festival guide, not another Horus guide.

What matters here is that Eternal Grails suddenly have another major destination.

That makes the decision around the Grail Shop increasingly account-specific. The discounted Chaos chests remain exceptional long-term value, while Horus represents a considerably more focused investment into one of the game's newest Immortals.

Maël’s Opinion: Horus is easily the headline addition to the Pirate Festival Grail Shop, and personally, he's the part I'm most curious about.

His kit already looks unusual enough on paper, and the potential interaction with Psionic Vortex makes him even more interesting. But I wouldn't let the excitement around a new Immortal make me ignore the 250-Grail Chaos chests either. Those remain incredibly efficient for accounts still progressing their existing Chaos Immortals.

Horus may be the shiny new target. The cheapest Chaos progression in the shop may still be the smartest purchase for many accounts.

7. Challenges & Free Festival Progression

Beyond the headline rewards, Glorious Challenge and Pinnacle Trial remain two of the most important sources of free progression throughout Pirate Festival.

Glorious Challenge follows the usual PvE structure. Normal Mode is available first, with Hard Mode unlocking later and offering better rewards. Clearing stages provides Pirate Festival Coins, Magic Fishing Nets and other resources, while completed stages can then be swept.

There is one small detail worth remembering: Challenge Tickets replenish back to five at daily reset if you are below that amount. Sitting at five or more therefore means losing potential free attempts. With Hard Mode arriving later, there is also little reason to burn additional purchased tickets too early unless you specifically need the early progression.

Pinnacle Trial covers the more competitive side of the event. Players face increasingly powerful formations for stage rewards before competing through the ranking system. Even without chasing the leaderboard, the activity provides useful rewards including Magic Fishing Nets, Dazzling Wish attempts and Immortal fragments.

And that's really the important part of both activities: they feed resources back into the rest of Pirate Festival.

Fishing Nets push Fishing Contest. Dazzling Wish attempts contribute toward Athena progression. Pirate Festival Coins open the Challenge Shop, where additional materials, Stardust and Artifact-related rewards can be exchanged.

Maël’s Opinion: Nothing revolutionary here, but these are exactly the activities you shouldn't neglect.

Not because you need to compete for the highest rankings, but because they quietly provide resources for almost every other part of Pirate Festival. Do your free attempts, avoid wasting ticket regeneration, collect what you can and then decide where you actually want to invest. Not every leaderboard needs to become a competition.

8. Maël’s Final Opinion

Pirate Festival doesn't radically change Infinity Kingdom's seasonal formula, but I think it improves it in the right places.

Most of the structure remains familiar. Fishing Contest, Dazzling Wish, Glorious Challenge and Pinnacle Trial all return, while Alexander and Athena's Summer Passion outfits continue their progression instead of immediately being replaced by another pair of limited projects.

The real difference comes from two additions.

Alchemical Secrets finally gives us a new activity to play rather than another reskinned version of something we've already seen. It may only be a relatively simple puzzle, but it adds variety while remaining connected to the wider event through Magic Fishing Nets.

And then there is Horus.

His arrival in the Grail Shop gives Eternal Grails a major new purpose, especially for players interested in experimenting with one of the more unusual Chaos Immortals we've received recently. At the same time, the discounted Chaos selection options remain extremely valuable, so Pirate Festival creates an interesting choice between chasing something new and continuing to strengthen what you already have.

That is probably what I like most about this edition. There isn't one universal answer to where your resources should go. An Alexander player may focus on Fishing Contest. An Athena player has Dazzling Wish. Someone building older Chaos Immortals may prefer the discounted Grail Shop chests, while others will immediately start working toward Horus.
