Siege of Wnterfell | S18 | R2 | WxD vs TNI

An important novelty of this season of Siege of Winterfell was that if in a match there were the Winterfell loot to conquer, the following one would alternate with the dragons to escort to their own base! This would test the adaptability of the alliances which would be forced to organize different strategies in every match.

Arriving on the battlefield, WxD’s only objective was to reverse the course and acquire their next success of the season in the second round. But to succeed in their plans, they would have had to face TNI.

The fearsome rival faction would be led by fighters such as ErwinV5, Artur 3 but among them S i m b a undoubtedly stood out! It was not a group of absolute level, but beware of underestimating them with members of such caliber among their ranks!

“Because of the previous victory we had a favorable matchmaking, but let’s keep our concentration high: we absolutely must get the victory today” was the clear message from the leadership, who tried to convey to every member of their alliance how much a possible defeat today could be irreparable damage on their path through the SoW season.

WxD’s strategy would be to form four groups, but initially the primary objectives would be Armory and Hotsprings. When the timer was approaching X hour which would mean the beginning of the contest, the clouds were slowly covering the sky above their heads and a light rain began to fall, gently resting on the helmets and shields of the members of the two factions who were waiting for nothing else than to unleash themselves.

The beginning of the dispute between the two alliances saw Vlodek together with his group and the one assigned to conquer Hotsprings head precisely towards it. Given the great speed of his troops, the WxD member was one of the first to reach its walls.

Seeing the important advantage of WxD’s troops in HotSprings, Vlodek immediately thought of pushing further! In an attempt to act as a distraction, he pushed himself all the way near Greyjoy Stronghold 2 so that the teammates behind him would have an easy time with the first conquest of the match, which was the consequence.

The battle between him and Stark Outpost 2 that followed saw a clear faction in the lead: WxD! The eastern side of the battlefield saw a clear predominance on their part over an TNI that failed to match the numbers brought by Vlodek and were inevitably pushed back until near their own base.

Meanwhile, on the western side of the battlefield…

The situation was almost symmetrical!

The great ferocity with which the members of WxD fought in this first phase of the match was absolutely not matched by the members of TNI who were unable to keep up with their pace. The battlefield after only 15 minutes of fighting spoke clearly, one faction crushing the other.

“It is all going as hoped, despite rivals like S i m b a, our numerical superiority is producing the desired effect” was Vlodek’s thought while his troops caught their breath from the great effort made in the first phase.

“Let’s continue pushing them as far back as possible towards their base: the two dragons are imminent and we must manage to put them immediately in the safe” was the clear message from the leadership, who did not want any drops in concentration.

TNI would certainly not raise the white flag so easily, and in fact…

The strategy of S i m b a and his allies was clear: focus heavily on one of the two dragons in an attempt to match the numbers of their rivals near it so that they could somehow fight them without being overwhelmed.

Initially the method worked! The contest between the two factions was heated and even for a few moments but things changed with the arrival of the troops led by Banana! Moving another group to fight for it, leaving Ice Dragon in the hands of the Armory group who escorted it without great difficulty in the absence of enemies, in Sun Dragon the troops of TNI were knocked down like by a hurricane.

“The change in strategy carried out during the fight for the capture of the dragon was decisive” commented Vlodek, congratulating the strategy of WxD’s leadership which was capable of adapting, prevailing in this way over their rivals in this phase.

In the following minutes, a timid attempt was made by ARTUR 3 who attempted to bring a building to his faction’s side, his target was Stark Outpost2. But when he arrived there he had to face Vlodek’s troops who had arrived to defend its walls!

The clash between the two was not even: with his Spear formation the WxD member countered the rival’s Cav and added to this the arrival of his teammates made everything easier for them, who managed to defend the walls!

As the minutes passed, the advantage began to become evident: TNI despite the attempts minute after minute were always the ones who were more likely to raise the white flag among their ranks leaving an opponent already numerically inferior, decimated. The conquest of the following dragons was a consequence for WxD, without major problems they managed to bring them home with great speed.

“Let’s continue pushing hard, we must try to bring home the match with as many points as possible”. To try to make up for the defeat in the previous round, WxD’s leadership pushed their teammates to obtain as many points as possible!

But beware of lowering their attention..!

S i m b a was not among those who would raise the white flag too easily and driven by his desire to fight until the end, even some TNI teammates were dragged by the determination and a large group formed near their base.

Group which, however, clashed against the wall formed by WxD. To manage to bring home as many dragons and points as possible, they formed a wall that separated the enemy base from any nearby target. The fight was harder than expected given the amount of ground to cover in order to contain any escapes, but Vlodek and his teammates managed to push the rivals back inside their own base!

The clash which was in fact the last song of the swan from TNI!

Arriving today with only 77 fighters who found themselves fighting against WxD’s 90, S i m b a and his tried as much as possible to keep the match going, but as time passed they understood that today there would be no possibility of victory for them and they had to definitively raise the white flag when the score was now irreparable.

WxD could thus wait for the sixty minutes of the match to come to an end in order to secure the victory!

“It was not a very contested match, but it was important for us to win today and doing so with such a large point difference was the cherry on top. The third match is already on the horizon and it will be with the Winterfell loot to capture, we will adapt our strategy to it, therefore expect some changes soon.” This was the message from the leadership before returning towards their realms.

“The 13 member gap was far too large to expect a contested match” was Vlodek’s thought during the return.

“Already, in matches like these numerical superiority plays a key role, almost more than strategy if every member fights to the best of their abilities” was Azuraz’ thought, who agreed with his ally.

A record of two victory in the first two rounds of the Siege of Winterfell season for WxD. The good start had been archived and now they had to begin a winning streak because as of today the objective of entering the best twelve was far away for them. Who will be the next rival and above all will they make it? We will find out together!
