💠Introduction
What’s up, folks? After the latest patch, Theia’s Roulette was updated to let players select Holy or Shadow Dragon Soul Crystals as rewards, giving players another way to target these valuable progression materials. Until now, the weekly Rune Factory event has generally been the best and most cost-effective source of Holy and Shadow Crystals. In this article, we’ll compare the value of the updated Theia’s Roulette with Rune Factory, break down the cost of each, and determine whether Roulette can compete with the current best option.

💠Rune Factory
Rune Factory uses Energy Cores for each roll, with the best packs costing $1 for 4 Energy Cores, up to 12 purchases per day, followed by $2 for 6 in-game, $5 for 15 through GTArcade, and $10 for 30 through GTArcade. Each roll has a 12% chance to give 4 Rune Insignias and a 24% chance to give 2, while the major reward is 70 Rune Insignias at a 0.5% rate. The event also has a pity system where, if you fail to pull the 70-insignia reward in the first 100 rolls, you are guaranteed it on roll 101, and pulling it early resets the pity counter. Accounting for both the normal insignia drops and the pity system, each Energy Core averages roughly 1.83 Rune Insignias, which converts to about 9.17 Holy Crystals, since 20 Rune Insignias can be exchanged for 100 Holy Crystals. At the cheapest $1-for-4 pack, that works out to around $0.027 per Holy Crystal, or about $2.73 per 100 Holy Crystals. If you purchase all of the worthwhile daily packs, you spend $162 for 498 Energy Cores, which should average roughly 4,566 Holy Crystals, giving a blended cost of approximately $0.0355 per Holy Crystal, or about $3.55 per 100 Holy Crystals. The higher-priced packs become progressively less attractive, so roughly $3.55 per 100 Holy Crystals is a useful overall Rune Factory benchmark when comparing it against other events.

💠Theia’s Roulette
Theia’s Roulette uses roulette tickets for each roll, with the best-value packs coming from GTArcade at $5 for 10 tickets up to 6 times per week, $10 for 20 tickets up to 8 times per week, and $20 for 40 tickets up to 10 times per week. All three packs have the same rate of $0.50 per roll. Each roll has five separate 1.04% slots that award 45 Holy Crystals, giving a combined 5.2% chance of landing a 45-crystal reward, while the major reward is 350 Holy Crystals at a 3% rate. If you do not pull the 350-crystal reward naturally, it is guaranteed by the 25th roll, and pulling 350 early resets the pity counter. Because of this pity system, the average cycle lasts about 17.77 rolls, meaning the 350-crystal reward contributes approximately 19.70 Holy Crystals per roll. Adding the expected 2.34 crystals per roll from the five 45-crystal slots brings the total to approximately 22.04 Holy Crystals per roll. At $0.50 per ticket, that works out to approximately $0.0227 per Holy Crystal, or $2.27 per 100 Holy Crystals. If you buy all of the worthwhile GTArcade packs each week, you spend $310 for 620 rolls, which should average approximately 13,664 Holy Crystals.

💠Comparison
Using only the $1 Rune Factory packs, Rune Factory costs about $0.0273 per Holy Crystal, or $2.73 per 100 Holy Crystals, compared with approximately $0.0227 per Holy Crystal, or $2.27 per 100 Holy Crystals, from Theia’s Roulette. This makes Theia’s Roulette about 17% cheaper per Holy Crystal than Rune Factory’s best $1 packs. Rune Factory’s advantage is that its $1 packs are inexpensive and available daily, with $12 buying 48 Energy Cores and producing an average of roughly 440 Holy Crystals. Theia’s Roulette requires spending $0.50 per ticket, but its higher 3% jackpot rate and much shorter 25-roll pity result in an average of about 22.04 Holy Crystals per roll, giving it the better overall value. If you move beyond Rune Factory’s $1 packs and purchase the $0.333-per-core packs as well, Rune Factory’s cost increases further, making Theia’s Roulette the more efficient option for players primarily interested in obtaining Holy Crystals.

If you are spending gems instead of money, Rune Factory is the better value per gem. Rune Factory gives about 27.5 Holy Crystals per 1,000 gems, compared with about 22.0 Holy Crystals per 1,000 gems from Theia’s Roulette. That makes Rune Factory roughly 25% more efficient per gem, costing about 3,635 gems per 100 Holy Crystals versus approximately 4,537 gems for Theia. However, Theia allows you to spend up to 50,000 gems per day, so it can produce about 1,102 Holy Crystals per day, roughly twice Rune Factory’s daily maximum of about 550. So, Rune Factory is better for gem efficiency, while Theia is better if your goal is to acquire the largest number of Holy Crystals as quickly as possible.
💠Summary
Theia’s Roulette is the better option for spending money in GTArcade. Rune Factory is better when spending gems. Overall, Theia offers better cash value and higher daily crystal potential, while Rune Factory offers better gem efficiency.
