Vangark was in K3; he had arrived there a few days earlier to face Lord of Lord alongside his partner, Rhaena. Through their spies, they knew that Phase Six would also coincide with KvK. They knew they could earn several points if they stayed active; it wasn’t their first time there, and he knew who they’d be fighting. But this time, the war between the kingdoms would be different—they would have to face two kingdoms at once. That was a problem for him; he couldn’t be alongside his friend, since if he left BDR, he would lose the rewards that would be given right at the start of the war for having participated in Ultimate Conquest. Rhaena, however, did join GeN so she could rely on her vassals and his. It wasn’t the first time he’d fought alone, but fighting against two kingdoms seemed a bit complicated to him. He prepared his vassals to act as decoys, and Rhaena would take on that role as well; she’d have to be quick enough to react if his friend was attacked.

The war was beginning, and so he got to know the enemy kingdoms, K334 and K360. Hidden from view, he began to observe his rivals; in the last kingdom, he found an ally—one who was no stronger than he was and was also alone. He also saw others who belonged to different alliances and were unaccompanied. If he acted wisely, he could handle this kingdom. In K334, it was different. Through spies in that kingdom, he could see that there was a fairly strong warrior who fought with cavalry, and there were also others with lances and infantry. It was a TFI group. According to his calculations, outside of any battle, if they captured King’s Landing and other GC’s, they could win easily. They had enough troops to score a good number of points more than the other two kingdoms. He would also have the opportunity to attack a weaker one, but he had to be quick—according to his informants, there were also two blue dragons in that kingdom.

The start of the war went well; he immediately made contact with his K360 teammate, and together they raided a castle full of archers, which earned points for his kingdom but not for his teammate. After that, they split up, each trying to hunt on their own, but there wasn’t much action. The three kingdoms, despite it being a KvK with no deaths, were not very active in battle and focused instead on gathering resources.
Vangark took advantage of the situation to capture King’s Landing from his kingdom and earn points that way. He figured that the TFI members would show up well into the night. Hours passed, and just as he was about to retire for the night, a raven brought word that KL in K334 was being captured by that alliance. Fearing the worst, he immediately sent one of his vassals to gather intelligence—to find out who was leading the defense and how many troops they had. There were infantry commanders, but the one in charge relied on cavalry as his main force—and he was a knight. The lord was not in King’s Landing. He immediately began to think: they had only been there a few minutes, so he decided to wait while he started looking for whoever was inside that castle. He found only the leader, who was near the great fortress.

Now he needed to know if they would react quickly upon seeing an attack, so he stationed his vassal nearby, instructed him to hide troops, and told him that his signal would trigger a feint attack on King’s Landing. It was a T3 infantry attack, which would take more than a minute to arrive. Seeing that the enemy didn’t seem surprised, he ordered another feint, and then a third—but this last one was directed toward the castle he was defending, to confuse the enemy. Meanwhile, he positioned himself nearby, but somewhat out of his enemy’s sight. He would attack with spears; even though King’s Landing was protected by a large number of infantry, he knew he could defeat them since the lord wasn’t there—he wouldn’t have enough stats to stop his spears. The danger lay in the possibility of being blocked, so he had to stay calm to quickly hide his troops. Defending the castle wasn’t an option; since he was alone, he couldn’t reinforce it. He ordered his vassal to intensify the attacks, and then launched his own strike swiftly, landing a full-force blow and eliminating nearly all the troops there. He then retreated just as quickly as he’d arrived; afterward, he jumped back and hid, waiting to see his enemies’ reaction.

That attack served as a warning: the enemy wouldn’t see the report, but could look him up in the KvK rankings and see that he was a lancer. He thought that maybe that would keep him out of the Great Cities. After the attack, everyone in KL raised their protective shields and focused on gathering resources until shortly before the Clans vs. Clans event ended. For him, that move secured the victory; his characteristic cunning and resourcefulness in turning certain circumstances to his advantage kept at bay a group that, with better organization, could very well have led that war.
